Ayana-
I put my hands in Tristan's as he pulls me closer, one of his hands lands on my back as I put one hand on his shoulder, my other hand in his. We sway for a few minutes in tune with the music playing.
But I kept looking around, searching looking for something unusual but the only thing I was met with was curious eyes. Which only made me feel conscious of the fact that we were the only ones wearing red.
"What's wrong?" I turn my head looking at Tristian. He was looking down concern in his eyes.
I was going tell his I was fine but decide to let him into my mind just a little. "You seriously don't notice that were are the only one wearing red," I question.
He raised his eyebrow as if to say, so that's what's bothering you.
"Of course I notice, but I don't care. Neither should you," he tells me.
"But they're all staring," I counter. He looks up momentarily before returning to my eyes. He smirks pulling me closer till we're chest to chest.
"Well they're probably staring because they can't keep their eyes off you. Like me."
I freeze looking up at him. Did he just say that he can't take his eyes off me? I clear my throat laughing nervously. "You're kidding. Right?"
He looks down at me with all seriousness, "Not one bit." He lets go of my waist spinning me away from him, distracting me from his answer.
He pulls me back to him, crashing us together. His hands find my waist as I try to come up with something to say. I only have more questions.
"Why can't you keep your eyes away from me?"
He title his head thinking, he bends to my ear answering with, "You're too beautiful not to look at." I look into his golden eyes not even realizing I had gasped out loud.
Beautiful. I turn my head away from him, "You don't really mean that." Did he?
I could feel his breath on my neck now, "But I do." I immeadiatly stopped dancing staring in shock at the guy before me. All I wanted I do was move away. So that's what I did, removing my hands from his.
"I think I'm getting kinda thirsty, I'm gonna get me something to drink. Okay? So...... you just stay put. Okay?" I turn around walking fast to the table of various drinks, although being cautious of the people's curious stares.
I felt like if I didn't get out of there I would have said something like, thank you. I grab a random drink bringing it to my lips for a small sip. It tasted sweet but bubbly, I didn't like it that much.
I switched my eyes to the dance floor as Tristian walked across heading the other side of the room. I couldn't see his face because he was turning the other way. I put my drink down planning to follow him only to be stopped by a hand on my shoulder.
I turned looking at white. There was man dressed in an all white suit with a white beaded mask covering only his eyes. His hair white but with light blue on the ends. "Yes?"
"I was hoping I could ask for a favor of you. If you don't mind?" Now that he spoke I could tell he was much younger than he looked. Probably a few years older than me.
"What is it?" I was curious. He smiled his white teeth almost blinding me.
"One dance with the beautiful girl in red." I almost choked on air. Beautiful. There was that word again. I looked up again trying to see where Tristain had gone off to, but he was nowhere to be found. I turned back to the guy, taking his hand and smiled politely.
"Sure."

Tristain-
I had gone to use the bathroom, wondering if I did something wrong or idiotic. I came back out only to see him.
There was some random guy dancing with Ayana and she was laughing at whatever dumb thing he probably said. Yeah, and maybe I was overreacting, but if he didn't take his hands off her in the next 30 seconds I will do something stupid. Incredibly stupid.

Ayana-
"Hey.......um can I ask you a question?"
The guy I'm dancing with nods his head.
"Is it wrong to wear red at these kind of things?" He looks down and smiles, it seems like he was trying to hold back a laugh.
"Red? Not at all. It's just the color is more reserved for the king. It's his favorite."
I nod, "I'll keep that in mind for next time." This time he actually let out a laugh and I join him lightly seconds after.
"What's the king like?" I ask looking around the room. He follows my gaze with an amused expression.
"The king is nice when he wants to be. He loves his people as far as I can tell, but he also loves attention. Though he rarely shows up to these balls. Only on special occasions."
"Oh," I nod. I turn my head still searching when I catch a glimpse of Red. Tristain, I look over at him and he seems to catch my eyes. But he looks different almost mad.
I turn back the guy in white, "Sorry for fair th is short but I have to go." He nods understanding as I leave going to Tristain. Then I suddenly remembered I never got his name. Next time then.
I finally get to Tristain expecting a slight awkwardness but instead hear, "Who were you dancing with?"
I look up surprised he even asked the question. "What?"
"Who were you dancing with, Ayana?" His voice was low and deep sounding angry.
"I don't know his name. He just came and asked so I said yes."
"You don't know who he is and you just danced with him anyways!"
"Yes! So stop making a big deal out of it." People were starting to stare and we weren't supposed to draw attention. What is wrong with him?
Tristian looked up thinking hard, then turned and looked down at me. "You know what fine whatever dance with whoever you want. But we're leaving. Now."
He moved to grab my arm but I stopped him, "Why?"
"Because Alex and Lily found something."
