Chapter 22 - MEETING LEXI SHAINE JOHNSON (2)

The next day Jin and Jazz arrived at Lexi's agency with a lot of time to spare. They wanted to be as professional as they could even if they are just doing an undercover job.

Lexi's agency is one of the largest and successful entertainment Agency in this country thus it's no wonder that they have to undergo a strict security check before entering the building. Once in, they are escorted into a medium-size conference room where they are instructed to wait for the company's Talent director and Lexi. The secretary also offered some refreshment which they politely refused.

After some time the conference room door open, the two of them immediately rise on their seat to greet what seemed to be the mentioned talent director and Lexi with a woman tailing behind them.

"Good morning ladies, I'm the talent director of the company, you can call me Jack."

"Ivy..."

"Anne..."

Jin and Jazz introduced themselves respectively.

"Pleasure to meet you ladies, of course, you already know Lexi and this is her manager, Olive."

They're both in awe at how beautiful Lexi looked in personal. The photos they've seen so far doesn't give her enough justice.

Lexi has a medium length golden brown hair matching her deep hazel set of eyes. She exudes a warm feeling when she smiles but look as cold as ice with her poker face. Her nose is small but with a tall bridge, fitting her face so well. Her lips is that of a perfect shape of heart, one that's truly fitted for a celebrity. Seeing her up close, one may feel that they are looking at an angel.

Having been born with a model like body and height that's about 171 cm it's no wonder a lot of brands wanted her to be their brand ambassador.

God can be quite unfair. Jazz mused to herself still couldn't get over at how perfect Lexi looked.

She gave them a perfunctory nod while her manager gave them a sneer.

Jin ignored it while Jazz couldn't help but frown at the manager's rude behaviour.

After the introduction they immediately went to official business, discussing the terms and conditions of their job as Lexi's original makeup artist and PA are both away they are the substitute until their return which may last for a total of three months.

They are also asked to sign a Confidentiality and Non-disclosure Agreement on top of their working contract. The entire time Lexi didn't utter a single word and just silently observe the two of them.

Jack also warned them that they should expect to move lot, needing to drive from one place to another at any time of the day as the shooting will be shot into various location. They are also expected to report at the shooting site earlier than Lexi to make sure that everything is already set up upon her arrival.

After finalizing everything the talent director has to excuse himself as he needs to attend an important meeting.

"Now listen here..." It was Lexi's personal manager, Olive who spoke first but the latter stops her.

"Olive, I need you to go buy me a latte."

"But that's not my..." Olive started to protest but the look that Lexi gave her is enough to send her running out of the room.

Jazz and Jin silently observe this whole interaction between the two and concluded that Lexi isn't just a simple heir turned actress. She has that natural air of power, superiority and elegance around her, something that not anyone could just have even with all the education and money than one may have.

"Who send you?" Lexi asks them the moment that her manager left.

Lexi's direct approach startled them for a bit but they remained calm and simply look at each other innocently.

"I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean..." Jazz stated collectedly which prompted the latter to snicker.

"Let's not waste our time here playing charades shall we."

"No one." Jin decided to be direct as well, no point playing cat and mouse when the person in front of them obviously isn't someone they can simply fool.

This makes Lexi smile, but not the sweet actress smile that she shows in front of the public and media but a sinister smile like she knows more than what she let on.

"Since you're unwilling to talk, let me guess, my uncle..." She purposely pauses to assess their reaction but the two person in front of her remained impassive.

"No? Then could it be the Sandford's?"

*no reaction*

"Still no? Then maybe Director Fu?"

*still no reaction*

Just how many enemies does she have? Jin mull over.

Lexi felt a little startled by the lack of reaction she is getting from the two of them but she remain calm.

If they aren't my uncle's people or send by my enemies from the industry, then who sends them? She silently asks herself.

"Mmmh, well if you aren't willing to talk, that's fine. Though I must say you guys are quite good, either you've both been doing this for a period of time or is sent by the Knight Council. So which one would it be?"

With this, she caught the slight twitch of Jazz mouth.

This caught Lexi's attention. She only took a shoot by mentioning the knight council. Who would have thought that she'll get a reaction from doing so, but why would the knight council send someone to monitor her?

"Neither..." Jin answered looking directly at Lexi's eyes.

The steeliness that Lexi saw from the latter's eyes gave her a chill down to her bone. This confirms that they aren't simple individuals at all and if her suspicion is correct they could be someone that the knight council definitely sends but again for what reason?

"Then I won't press you further, since I've already confirmed that both of you aren't sent by my uncle, that's enough for me. I look forward to working with the two of you." Lexi stated before exiting the room.

"She knows about the council." Jazz uttered after Lexi left the room.

"Let's go." Jin prompted her cousin.

"Where?"

"Home, we need to double-check her background." Jin didn't bother to check if Jazz is behind her as she is already busy sending an emergency meeting to their family's group chat.
