"Made more sense that the Johnson's are under the Ellison's as this country is part of the Dragons territory." Hanna pointed out.
"That being said, I must warn you all to be vigilant, our mere presence could raise flags and they might mistake our purpose of being here as a territorial invasion or attack." Anna gave the five of them a pointed look making sure that they understand the severity that this kind of misunderstanding may bring.
"Make sure to have an unbreakable façade, the disguises you have all have a solid background so by the time that they'll find a loophole we're long done with our purpose of coming here." Selene continued.
"Jaden will be the one who is most at risk here as he doesn't have any cover-up." The old Rhodes sigh, if not for legal purposes he would have Jaden complete his residency under a disguise as well but this will be going against the academic world.
They can disguise his grandson's appearance and have him use a nickname but all his documents are real and legal so if one will conduct an official background check on him he will be exposed.
"Don't worry grandpa, I'm being careful at the hospital and I'm trying my best to stay as low as possible, besides all our true background information is secured and encrypted as well if they try to dig deeper H will be notified of this." Jaden assures the old Rhodes.
"Speaking of the hospital, how's the situation?" Isaic asked his youngest son.
Jaden's expression darkens at the mention of the hospital's situation.
"That bad huh…" Julian muttered after observing his cousin.
"What exactly is the situation with the hospital?" Jazz has to ask. As Jaden was brief about it privately after the delegation of their task she didn't have the time to ask her brother with all the things that she and Jin have to deal with. It also doesn't help the fact that her brother is so busy with his residency and is rarely at home and whenever he is all he does is sleep.
"It's more complicated that what we initially thought. The hospital as a whole is known within the country to host numbers of doctors who are well versed with their chosen field, thus a lot of the country's citizens choose it over the other hospitals, the problem is over the years it seems that it has transitioned to be a highly profit driven hospital, which is politically exploited rather than a citizen friendly one." Jaden sighs deeply before continuing.
"I've seen a lot of my supervisors as well as colleagues who have to begrudgingly turn away patients just because they can't afford or their insurance can't cover for their needed procedure or the treatment they needed. The hospital policy prevents us from actually doing our job. I actually have to witness the chief of surgery marching towards the director's office because they have ordered one of his critical patients to be moved to a different hospital, which in turn died along the way."
"Wait I've seen that on the news… that's the child who was hit by a car right?" Jazz asked which his brother confirmed with a nod.
"8 year old boy crossing at a pedestrian lane with his mother on a green light at broad daylight, driver drove away. It's all over the internet. It's hard not to know about the incident." Jin recited the article she came across.
"That's becoming quite the issue, rumor has it that they are currently conducting an internal investigation to check who's at fault regarding the patient's sudden transfer." Julian stated having heard all about it being the current hot topic within the legal circle.
Jaden snorted at this. "You know better than I that this is just to placate the family of the victim, as well as to cover the original investigation of the initial accident. That so-called internal investigation will lead to nowhere and before there would be anything out of it the boy's body would be long decayed on its grave."
Julian looked at his cousin which makes the latter put his emotions in check.
"The driver of the car was the son of a prominent figure in the country right?" Hanna tried to disperse the sudden tension in the air.
Anna on the other hand couldn't help but make a sour face at how the so-called high society is nowadays.
"I've read this case in passing actually. Seems like he is a son of a senator, but based on what I've been hearing so far it looks like they are planning to have their family driver take the fall for this one." Nathe informed them, being an international lawyer he has a wide network to gain inside information even when he isn't from this country.
"That's expected, poor man, how many years is he expected to serve?" Anna pondered, considering that the said crime is quite a debacle.
"A life long imprisonment, he's lucky if he'll get a chance for parole but since the case is hot with the public eye that's quite impossible." Nathe answered.
Jin let out a small laugh getting everyone's attention. "Come on dad you know well that in this situation he'll most probably wind up dead before the jury could even give a verdict."
"That is quite dark of you, but of course you're right. But that's better than being killed inside prison where no one will even say a word about what happened to him." Julian shrugged indifferently.
Nathe and Anna looked at each other, both thinking how they gave birth to two devils.
Meanwhile the old Rhodes smirked after seeing the couples interaction as if reading their minds, who else would those two inherit their attitude, he silently snickered knowing well his daughter and son in laws temper and attitude.
