Running as hard as I could I hoped, I prayed that I could make it out. Looking behind me I wished I hadn't as this large black skeletal beast closed in on me. And as it did and gave me a slash from it's claws I felt my back separate from my upper body. I knew at that moment I was dead and there was no way I was going to live.
Then "Bang," a loud explosion went of as light surrounded me. I felt my body being pulled back together, and I felt somehow complete. It wasn't that my body felt complete, not it felt like my soul and my mind were finally whole. As the feeling overtook me I felt myself loose consciousness not sure what I was going to wake up to, and if I would truly wake up to something.
Hours passed by in my dreams as I dreamed of being a young boy again. Living my life from the apocalypse up until this moment. It seemed that I now could no longer forget what happened in my life no matter what I did, and it was as that feeling seeped into me I once more awoke. Looking around me I found that I was in a crater that made the ground around me harden into a identical silvery rock that seemed to have digit's scattered around within the metal. Looking down at it I felt something stir within my soul and then I watched in one part amazement, and one part horror as the ground around me gathered together and formed a watch. Then the watch floated over to me and tied itself to my arm.
Wanting to freak out at the weirdness that was going on even considering the world I lived in I felt a feeling calm my mind to focus calmly on my situation. Being weirded out but not afraid of it any longer I knew somehow in my heart it was the watches doing. As if to affirm my thoughts the watched turned on and it showed an app on it. I knew this was a smart watch considering it's shape and function. The reason that I even considered what it was in the first place was because I had never seen one before. I only knew about them from books that I had read that talked about the history before the apocalypse.
Taking a look at the app that was in the shape of the monster that had been chasing me I decided to tap it and watch what happens. Of course this made me realize that since I no longer had fear towards anything anymore it might cause me to make dumber decisions at times such as I had just done tapping a mysterious app on some weird most likely alien and magical tech that had somehow been combined.
On the screen of the watch a lone figure was seen sitting their on my screen. It was the monster I had just watched being killed. It seemed like it didn't recognized me as it looked at me. In fact it looked at me with a 'is that a loving face?' Whatever the case the beast no longer growled at me. Watching it I felt information pop into my mind out of nowhere.
The information described the beast in surprising detail.
Prehistoric Dark Matter Wolf
Bio-This wolf was one of the first of it's kind back when wolf's as a species was first born. They were larger than the ones known in the information age by two fold and as such they were plenty stronger. They hunted in smaller pack however as they had more strength. Later once the apocalypse occurred the bone's of the species were brought to the surface like other prehistoric beasts to once more roam the land. However this specific beast had a mutation that made the bones of the species change from an undead to a dark matter beast. This type of beast as the name says produces dark matter out of their bones which then makes flesh out of this dark matter. This allows the beast to act like a alive species, but it can also when it wishes have the traits of an undead. So this beast is a day walker and a night walker without any weakness caused by as such.

Looking at the beast on the watch my lips twitched a bit before going back to a neutral position. 'What the Heck is this,' I thought to myself in surprise. Considering what it meant for myself I had a moment of ingenuity. 'If I get the stat's of the monster, then wouldn't I have the ability to "Summon" it,' I asked in my mind and yelled out the word to hopefully do so; to my happiness it worked. That happiness didn't last long thought as the beast sit their next to my face staring directly into my eyes with it's 'curiosity and love?'
Looking at the beast that had almost killed me I wanted deep down to say that it didn't like me as a deep seated fear had been planted into me from the pain of death. It was so deep even the watch couldn't take away the fear. Smiling trying to appear confident to boost my own I stared back at the beast waiting to see what would happen. Sadly enough it didn't have enough intelligence to realize this so we kept staring at each other for a couple of minutes when I finally could no longer take it. "Are you going to just keep staring me in the eyes!?"
My shout seemed to awaken something in it as it turned it's head sideways like a little lovable dog, and it would have been if not for it's black eyes that had not white in it as well as the bone covered face that just screamed terrifying. Taking a sigh in defeat that got rid of the lest remnants of fear, I decided to just consider the creature as a dumb little animal that knew not better than to eat any other creature it saw as food. Which in a way was true as it was a wild animal that just got reborn as a monster when it mutated. Well the Skeleton past didn't' help it's case any either.
Taking a quick peek at it once more I focused on the watch that seemed to be flashing with a message.
"Host has summoned 1 Dark Matter Wolf. Does the Host wish to nickname the monster?"
Looking at the message I couldn't help but mumble my question "How do I even nickname a creature?" Immediately a answer was given on the screen that made me relieve something immediately. The watch was either alive or it had an AI, and knowing it was most likely alien, magical tech I wouldn't put the idea away that it was both. Looking at the message I blinked in sarcasm.
"Host just needs to voice it out."
'Really now, I couldn't think it possible that since you understood my words that were spoken earlier you can't use that to help in my task,' I thought as sarcastically as I could.
"Host, the System can also understand your thoughts. It just won't activate using them unless it is absolutely necessary as people have unconsciously thought up different ideas before that ended up in past hosts deaths."
"What kind of ideas," I asked back ignoring that I was talking to a little piece of equipment altogether. Give or take talking to different items wasn't as weird per say as though out a normal day you can talk to a couple hundred different species of half humans if you wanted to do so.
"Well Host, Once upon a time a guy decided he liked the apocalypse so he decided to create as many zombies as he could through the system. That guy then died to the zombies because he unconsciously gave the order to attack all life on earth, which included himself. He died and so the system escaped to find a new host, but he was the cause of the apocalypse. This also means for the host not to give dumb orders to your monsters as they can end up hurting you if your stupid in how you order them."
Staring at the screen in shock and disbelief before it faded once more I decided to leave the information about this system being the cause of the apocalypse alone. After all if it was, I could end up causing a second one if I wasn't careful with that side of the system, and on the other side of that if it was false it would just end up being a waste of time. Plus I didn't really believe in this system as I only ended up running across it today even if it had saved my life.
"So is their anything else you wish or need to tell me soon system," I asked politely since it still was, while not a believable thing, a thing that could summon the monster before me in front of me, and could cause my death without my knowledge on how.
"Only one question Host. Are you going to name the wolf?"
Nodding in understanding I took a second to think about it and decided, "System, if I may call you that, name it Anubis."
"Understood Host, and yes you may call me System."
Come on, I yelled to Anubis as we made our way though the forest back towards the place I called home. This time I knew would be different however as I could claim to have awoken as a summoner.
