Chereads / Pity Me / Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 10

Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 10

As soon as her class ended, Luna hurried out of the classroom, even before the professor could leave. She dreaded another encounter with Haemin and the girls who were glaring at her, they definitely looked like they had nothing nice to say.

She stopped in front of a vending machine and got a Coke, there was still time before her next class and as soon as she took a sip she heard his voice again.

"Hey new girl!"

Oh come one.

She shuffled along hastily out of the building but he still caught up and stood in front of her, blocking her way.

"Hey so I'm sorry about disturbing you in class I didn't know you were that serious about your academics but see this is the kind of thing Id know if we were friends." He smiled.

Just look at him smile like he's doing charity or something when really hes one of the most sinister of people.

"Like I said earlier. Not. Interested." She gritted out and tried to step around him but he blocked her again.

"Please don't misunderstand me I really just want to be friends, I have a girlfriend." He explained.

Luna scoffed, "Well go annoy your girlfriend, because I don't wanna have anything to do with the likes of you."

Haemin furrowed his eyebrows, "The likes of me?"

She pushed past him, bumping into his shoulder and stalked away.

Her Coke tin was almost crushed under her harsh grip and she agrily downed it in one sip.

Why can't I ever meet good and honest people for God's sake.

Someone tapped her shoulder and she whipped around,

"Why can't you just leave me alone?" She shouted but immediately regretted it when she saw that it wasn't Haemin.

But a very good looking guy with dark blue hair.

He raised his hands in surrender, "Woah, I just wanted to return this." He handed her her mp3 and she gasped as she took it in her hand.

It must've fallen off of my collar when I bumped into Little Finger.

"Oh thank you so much, and Im so sorry for shouting at you like that, I thought you were someone else." She looked down in embarrassment.

"It's okay, Id let a pretty girl like you shout at me any time of the day." He smiled.

"Pardon?"

"Oh never mind."

Both of them awkwardly stared at the ground, and he kicked the ground casually, he raised his head and extended his hand, "Hi, Im Hyun, Hyun Lee. Its nice to meet you."

Luna took it, " Im Luna. And likewise."

Hyun jokingly put a hand on his chest, " Wow that is such a beautiful name and it definitely suits you." He gushed and Luna smiled.

Now what? Am I supposed to compliment him too? Or should I ask about his hair color choice to keep the conversation from ending? Oh god hes so handsome. Can I please not screw this up?

She prayed silently but Hyun eased her confusion when he spoke again and asked her for her number.

Luna clumsily searched her bag and fished out her phone handing it to him, her heart pounding with nervousness.

Fortunately for Luna the cafè where she worked was just two streets down but she was too busy daydreaming to be thankful for that.

Ever since she had met Hyun, she had totally forgotten about the Haemin dilemma and almost losing her mp3.

With a wide grin plastered across her lips she looked out of the car window and everything seemed beautiful to her.

Myungga Coffee was packed as ususal when she got there and Jinwoo told her to immediately change into her uniform.

Back at the staff room Yubi was lying on the couch with her headphones in so Luna silently went to the clothing rack and got her apron.

As she was about to put it on Yubi said, "Stop." And Luna froze in her spot, "Now turn around." Luna slowly obliged.

"I love your outfit, thats a really cool shirt and damn I want those boots, they are to-die-for!" She complimented still lying on the couch.

"Thank y-" Luna started but Yubi interjected.

"Although you could use some blush-on, because you look like you're cosplaying the corpse bride."

Luna simply smiled at her and wore her apron with the cafè logo on it.

"Oh and your hair look like you washed them and forgot to brush them." Yubi commented but Luna didnt mind, she really did wash her hair and just brushed her fingers through them when they were dry.

"I dont really know many hairstyles except for." Luna gestured at the tight bun she was making and then wore her hair net.

"Ill teach you some other time but for now we have to face the music." She referred to the voices of the customers coming from inside the cafè.

Yubi wore her beret and placed Luna's on her head, she locked her arm with Luna's and they walked out as if they had been doing this for years.

Luna tasted the mascarpone cream and her smile grew.

Delicious.

She filled the piping bag and began frosting the pastries, a satisfied curve on her lips persisting.

"What's with the silly smile? Was the first day of university really that good?" Yubi asked sitting on the counter next to the pastries.

Luna grinned without looking up from the pastries, "Maybe."

Yubi raised her eyebrows, she grabbed Luna's shoulders making her look up, "You met a guy didnt you?"

Luna put down the piping bag, "Yeah, and he seems really nice!"

"Oooh we might be looking at a potential boyfriend here."

Luna gasped, "You really think so?"

Me, a boyfriend? Can I really be that blessed?

Yubi asked about their whole conversation and Luna told her every detail from when he commented on her being pretty to him asking for her number.

"Oh my god he is totally into you!" Yubi squealed and Luna's mouth hung open.

"Really?" She asked again.

"Totally. By the way whats his name? I may know him. Alot of KU student come here."

"Hyun Lee. And he has these really cool electric blue hair." She smiled while talking about him but her enthusiasm dimmed when she saw Yubi not reciprocating her excitement.

"Blue hair... does he also have multiple ear piercings, a quite defined jawline and is this tall?"

Luna nodded, "Why?"

"Umm its just that.." Yubi's reaction puzzled Luna, she had no idea what to expect.

"Actually nevermind."

"What is it? Tell me."

"No really. Something else came to mind." She chuckled nervously and Luna frowned.

"Hey why does Jinwoo keep giving you kitchen work? You applied for the waitressing and cashier positions." She changed the subject and Luna let her, though suspicion still lingering at the back of her head.

"Well earlier Han was on leave and now its Jun. And remember those strawberry shortcakes that I made? Well apparently they sold quite well so Jinwoo is confident in letting me fill in now."

"Right! I remember there was a woman who ordered one and an hour later she came back and ordered half a dozen!"

"Well thats good."

"Keep this up and you might just be given the position of Assistant Chef!"

Luna laughed, "Theres no such thing we just have three bakers here."

"Well then we'll get a fourth one! By the way whats with you and baking? Are you interested in it as a career option?"

"What? No! I just followed the recipes on Pinterest, and may have watched alot of Masterchef when I was little but thats all."

"Oh spare me the modesty, you're going to leave me at the counter alone arent you?" Yubi joked.

Luna laughed as she resumed her work, Yubi's reaction earlier coming to her mind again.
