Chapter 17 - False Testify

Rui was shocked and immediately pushed himself from the chair. He looked at the gazes thrown around him, making him shudder. The boy was still young but he had passed a time where people looked at him with a dark, brooding gaze, as if they were telling him his presence was unneeded.

Rui held his hands together, shuddering in fear, "I didn't!" He tried to express his sincerity with his words but the burning gazes around him didn't help him to calm down. "I didn't! I didn't!"

The gaze that his surrounding held reminded him to the time when Han XiGuang had been absent for his work. The other members of Han Family didn't see it well with him, considering him as a son born out of wedlock, someone they couldn't accept.

'We don't need him,' said one of the member of Han Family, scaring Rui who feared he would be separated from his father.

When Rui had come into it, his teary eyes were met with Han XiGuang's concerned gaze. "Rui? Rui! Calm down, breathe in," his father's hasty voice resounded on his ears as he large teardrops continue to flow from his eyes.

Wu SuYi who saw this realized it was another mild panic attack on Rui's side. It was as if this had happened often as the other woman had spoken earlier seeing how adept Han XiGuang attended Rui.

Rui who cried listened to his father until he could calm down. Despite always being a good nature child who seem to never threw a tantrum, Rui cried no less like other children of his age.

Wu SuYi who came near him gently picked Rui to his arm and coaxed him. Han XiGuang offered her a sincere smile, "Thank you."

"Don't mention it," Wu SuYi responded then looking at the elder boy who was crying worsely compared to Rui as if the world had been destroyed right in front of his eyes.

The teacher looked confused seeing how the two parents looked at each other at odds.

"Miss He, may I ask FanYi what happened?" The teacher questioned the elder boy.

Miss He, the name of the woman who had talked to Wu SuYi earlier looked miffed at the question. "Why are you asking my child first?! He had told you it was Rui who had pushed him, did you not?! Question him instead!"

Han XiGuang frowned and the angered expression was quick to appear on his face, scaring away the teacher who was squeezed into the worse position.

"Rui doesn't seem to be at the right condition to speak," The teacher spoke when the woman glared angrily.

"Do I look like I care? The one who is in pain the most is my son!" The woman yelled. Miss He didn't have it easy that her son was wounded. "And this had always happened to Rui! But he had done something wrong and he should owe up to what he did!"

"It is only a cut to the skin," Wu SuYi responded lightly, patting Rui's back as gently as she could. She looked at the woman and shook her head, "Rui's panic attack may happened often but it doesn't mean with continuous panic attack a child would be able to withstand it. It is much more painful than you could imagine, Miss He."

Miss He was good to Wu SuYi but her attitude turn south seeing how easily Wu SuYi sided to Rui.

"Regardless, what matter is that Rui had caused this wound on FanFan! He should be hold accountable for his mistake."

Wu SuYi nodded her head firmly while Han XiGuang stared silently as her hand that hold his fingers as if to calm him down.

"It is true, that a mistake should be hold accountable. No matter who it is, I support that idea," Wu SuYi responded and Miss He smiled widely at this. She slowly placed Rui's head to the side, making sure he can breathe well, "Rui, can you speak to me?"

Rui nodded his head weakly. If possible, Wu SuYi would like to have him rest right now but seeing how the people seemed to be on the side of blaming Rui, she didn't like how it is.

"You can tell her if you feel that you need to rest," Han XiGuang said. He trusted Wu SuYi but was also concerned for his beloved son.

Rui shook his head and looked at Wu SuYi, whispering in a low voice just enough for her to hear, "I didn't do it."

Wu SuYi had seen what kind of child Rui was. He wasn't one to hurt and lie. "Can you tell me more about it?"

"FanYi fell," Rui said. The class was silent as they were all intense on hearing what Rui had to say. "He fell and trip. Then he blamed me."

Wu SuYi's eyes narrowed and she looked at the boy with a sharp glance, eliciting a flinch reaction from the boy. It was the truth, Wu SuYi confirmed.

"No! You are lying! My child never lie, everyone saw him fall. Some of you must have seen what Rui did!" Demanded Mrs. He to the children around them.

One of the boy with the round glasses slowly raised his hand and spoke nervously, "I saw… Rui tripped FanYi when he was walking to the podium."
