Synopsis
What kind of employee gives her boss the third finger in the middle of a meeting and doesn’t get fired?  In her entire life, Oh Ji-Soo has never seen anyone more arrogant, mean, time conscious and narcissistic than Kim Ji-hun.  No one.  One moment he is cursing her; “Do it again, dimwit! You have 10 minutes!” and another moment he is tearing up the design draft she brought to him.  Having had enough of his antics, Ji-Soo concluded that she would rather become unemployed than have her mental state tortured over again.  But when her boss comes for her, she forces a contract that would keep him in check, which ended up exposing the secret he had hidden for years.  Now that his secret was out, he could blatantly tell her with a mischievous smirk playing on his lips, “I gave you a chance to run from me, but now, that grace has expired.”  Left with that realization and a beguiling goody-two-shoes woman lurking around the corner, what choice would Ji-Soo make? Would she take a step back or get on the ferry wheel of romance with her boss?

Chapter 1 - Summoned

*************

~Country SK, City S~

It was morning, and the rush hour in S City had already set in.

Tons of cars en route were stuck in traffic.

The blaring horns from different vehicles combined brought jarring sounds to the ears.

Five seconds before the red light could appear after escaping traffic for the umpteenth time, an apprehensive female voice shot out from inside a black car.

"Don't you dare stop!"

As if on a pill, the driver floored the accelerator with a determined gaze, crossing the junction over to the next road, just a moment before the red light appeared.

The black car still maintaining the current speed on the highway, suddenly slowed as it closed up to the tall Skyscraper towering into the sky with the nameplate 'Dream Axis' hanging outside its highest floors.

On getting to the building's entrance, the car came to a halt.

Two seconds later the backdoor directly facing the building, was pushed open.

Next, a pair of black Louboutin heels touched down on the thick carpet flooring and the next moment, the female figure stepped out with her black bag from Prada's latest collection.

Closing the car door, the woman dressed in royal blue palazzo pants with a matching jacket and a white silky sleeveless top inside released a deep breath.

As the car behind her drove away, she took hurried steps forward to walk into the large hall, bypassing the revolving door.

With her ID in hand, she placed it on the metal scanner and as the small glass double doors parted, she crossed over it, heading directly for the elevator.

"Director Oh."

A man in his forties, flashed her a welcoming smile with all familiarity as the round-framed glasses on the bridge of his nose moved up a bit.

Noticing the mature beauty standing next to him it was hard to not acknowledge her presence.

Oh Ji-Soo was a beauty. With one glance, one could easily see her distinctive facial features.

She had a pair of proportional ears that hid inside her chestnut hair plunged over her shoulders. Her slender eyebrows eased down gently to her natural black feathery eyelashes that shadowed her alert eyes.

And over the dark pink lipstick on her full lips, her symmetric nose stood straight, bringing all her other facial features in harmony.

The most attractive part of Oh Ji-Soo's face was the dimple marks on both sides of her full perky cheeks. Even without smiling, those dimple marks did a good job of softening her facial expression.

And lastly was that shapely figure hidden underneath the royal blue suit.

Everything about her beauty and shape spelt one word, 'Perfect'.

Tilting her head to the side, she recognized the man she had unknowingly come to stand beside to wait for the elevator.

"Good morning, Director Baek."

'Ding!'

At the same time, the sound went off from the elevator, signalling its arrival.

Throwing her gaze ahead, she stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the 25th level as Director Baek walked in after her.

"You are early today." He noted while standing next to her as the elevator doors snapped close.

"I have always been on time." Oh Ji-Soo corrected without sparing him a glance, seemingly not in the mood to hold a conversation.

All that was on her mind was how her day was going to turn out.

She had no time for little side talks.

After a relaxing weekend, here she was, about to face the evil President of her workplace.

Was it even possible to avoid him?

Noticing her lack of interest, Director Baek held his tongue until the elevator arrived on the 25th floor.

"That cold-hearted woman." His gaze followed her until she disappeared from his line of sight.

Unaware of his disdain, Oh Ji-Soo directly made her way to the door that had her position on the nameplate.

'Senior Manager'

Turning the door handle, she pushed the door open and walked into her white and ash-themed work zone, her gaze observing the differences from how she last left it.

Ignoring the bright light coming from the parted thick floor-length curtains showing off the beautiful view from the floor-length glass windows, she walked straight to sit on the black executive office chair behind her barrel-shaped work desk.

Instantly, a relieved sigh fell off her lips as her thick long lashes fluttered close in that moment.

Oh Ji-Soo lost herself in the moment of peace while letting the air-conditioning blast her face in full swing until hell broke loose the next minute.

'Thud. thud. Thud.'

The urgent sound of soft knocks on her door, caused her eyes to snap open and before she could even respond, the door was pushed open, revealing a short younger woman with a pair of reading glasses over her eyes.

"Director Oh, President Kim asks that you appear in his office immediately."

Hearing the order, Ji-Soo's eyes snapped shut as her fingers clenched into fists.

'Boss, isn't it too early for this?'

Although she had such thoughts, she still rose to her feet and strolled toward the door in hurried steps like she was being chased by a big animal.

"A few minutes before you stepped in, the President had dropped by," the young woman waiting at the door revealed with slight pity in her tone.

"What!"

Without prior warning, Ji-Soo stopped in her steps as a horrified look graced her face, her dimples, blaring up at this point.

"Why are you only telling me this now?!"

She wished she had known about this sooner, then she wouldn't have dared to first stop by her office.

"I'm sorry Ms. Oh, that was his instruction." Her assistant, Eun-bi apologized.

A little invincible human like her would never dare to play tricks on the big boss, it's not like she wanted to return to her hometown soon.

"Aish!"

Raising her left hand to check the time on her silver wristwatch, Ji-Soo muttered a few curses before flying out of the room.

Without looking back, plus ignoring the greetings from the junior staff she rushed toward the elevator.

Seeing her in that frenzied state, those who were aware of what was probably going on due to being accustomed to that scene quickly cleared the path for her.
