By the time it had clocked 9 pm, Oh Ji-Soo had already finished her work.
But lifting her head from her laptop, she discovered she was the only one present in the large working space.
The others had already left and given the surprise on her face, she must not have known when it came down to the last person.
All this while, she would just nod in approval each time any of them came to her saying,
"Director Oh, I have sent the budget to you, can I leave now?"
"Director Oh, I just emailed the references to you. I think I can leave now."
One by one, she had approved of them leaving for the day without raising her head, but now that she was finally through, she was a little regretful.
A long sigh escaped from her lungs as she rose to her feet while cracking her knuckles.
"At last, I still end up serving even those under me."
Stifling a yawn with the back of her hand over her lips, she pressed a few keys on her laptop before walking over to the printer in one corner to print the entire work she had summarized, including the drawing plans.
By the time she was finally done, the time was nearly 9:30 pm.
Clearing the desk she used, she went into her office to change into the shoes she had worn to work that morning.
"Can I get a taxi by this time?" Mumbling to herself, she picked up her phone to try booking a cab.
But the instant the corners of her lips curled, she put down her phone. It seemed like she had succeeded in getting a ride back home.
With no time to waste, she quickly packed up her things and left her office after turning off the lights.
Some minutes later, she stepped out of the tall building, only stopping at the entrance.
Right at this time, Kim Ji-Hun's car slowly drove into the premises.
As Kim Ji-hun had his eyes at the entrance, he was able to see Oh Ji-Soo's figure just before the car could enter her line of sight.
"Stop!"
Instantly, the chauffeur stepped on the break. Although he didn't know why he was asked to stop, he did as commanded and remained calm.
With eyes like a hawk, Kim Ji-hun latched his gaze on the woman standing in front of the building's entrance.
He seemed to be avoiding her, while also watching her from that distance.
"It's so late, why is she only getting off work at this time?"
This looked to be a discovery for him, and it looked like he had forgotten about the project with a sudden deadline he had given to her, or did he lose his memory on his way returning from the hospital?
In less than a few seconds, the taxi Oh Ji-Soo booked, drove past his car and only stopped when it reached the entrance.
"Thank goodness!" Ji-Soo sighed in relief from seeing her ride. Unaware of the pair of eyes watching her from nearby, she pulled open the car door and got into the backseat.
'Vroom!'
The last scene Kim Ji-hun witnessed was the cab driving away from the other side.
'I thought she had a car, what happened to it?'
It was very obvious that Kim Ji-hun was very interested in Oh Ji-Soo's affairs but unfortunately, he couldn't find a way to satiate his curiosity.
Getting off his car as soon as his chauffeur packed at the entrance, he took the elevator straight to the highest floor.
Getting off, he walked straight to the only door on that floor and let the device scan his iris before he was granted access to the apartment.
As soon as he stepped into the penthouse, the lights in the hallway automatically turned on.
Changing his shoes without bending his waist, he lazily slipped his feet into the pair of white flip-flops already positioned in front of him before stepping into the house properly.
Ignoring the other areas of his house, he went straight to his bedroom to wash up in the shower, and change into a new set of clothes before going into his kitchen in search of food.
'There is nothing here?' Rampaging his refrigerator with his eyes, he saw nothing that looked like food in it.
There were only bottles of water, a few cans of alcohol, a plate of purple grapes and two bottles of fruit juice.
Was he really living to not have any food in his house?
Annoyed, he picked up two cans of beer and a bottle of water from his refrigerator and slammed the double doors shut before helplessly walking to his study.
He looked pitiful to not have anything to eat for the night given how much money he had sitting in his bank account.
As much as he looked terrifying during the day, he was completely different at night.
Getting into his study, he sat on the work desk and opened one can of beer with plans of only drinking while continuing from where he had left off from work.
*******
As soon as Oh Ji-Soo stepped into her condo, she quickened her steps and went straight to her green-coloured couch to slump on it.
Letting out a deep breath, she cursed freely in a loud voice being aware that no one could hear her as her lashes fluttered close.
"Kim Ji-hun you jerk! I promise to take revenge on your ancestors before coming after you."
There were a lot of things to be annoyed for since the whole of today and not surprisingly, Kim Ji-hun was to be blamed for everything.
He was the very reason she skipped lunch with only having 3 cups of tea without a break, all because of a project he declared interest in at the dying minute.
Oh Ji-Soo could not wait for the day of revenge to come so she could dump all of her grievances while dealing with him at the same time.
He was her daytime nightmare. He was just too much to bear.
Spewing a few more words which were oddly satisfying, she felt a need to refresh her throat and quickly sat up.
"I think I feel much better."
Nodding to herself, she took off her heels before getting up and walking into her open kitchen area to get a bottle of water.
But as soon as she stopped in front of the refrigerator, her eyes immediately went to the altered photograph of a man stamped on its door.
His eyes were as good as gone because a sharp tool had been used to scratch the eyes into an unrecognizable state.
