"There is no proof! FanYi wouldn't do things like these!" Mrs. He continued to shout, making her son's name clear from the accusation people pointed to us. She was blinded by her trust, not knowing how here son truly acted in the school.
"You can talk about the rest to the school's system," Han XiGuang responded. He turned on his phone and called for the principle to rush inside.
Wu SuYi saw how the principle's face was pale by the time he had heard what happened to Rui and scolded the teacher severely, "You have ruined the reputation of the school! A bullying is not a matter that should be treated by silent culture! You have not reported for an investigation to any of our supervisor!"
The teacher appeared to want and make an excuse but everything was brought up to light, including her neglect behavior.
"Mrs. He we are not here to accuse FanYi but will need to pursue the truth from the investigations," said the principle strictly which angered Mrs. He.
"I knew it the rumors are true!" Mrs. He bravely pointed her finger on Han XiGuang. Wu SuYi frowned. She could tell slowly by second the ire on Han XiGuang was steadily increasing. "You bribed the school and used your authority as the biggest sponsor to your advantage all for your son! His examination results must also be affected by your choice!"
Every words Mrs. He said flew across Wu SuYi's right ears while all she could see was Han XiGuang. She was afraid if she let her eyes away from him for a second, Han XiGuang's anger would flare and burst.
"Mrs. He!" The principle strictly stopped her, knowing how dark Han XiGuang's gaze turned while looking at the woman.
"Isn't it true?!" Mrs. He didn't know when was the time to stop her mouth, thought Wu SuYi. "The fact that another student had witnessed Rui tripping to my son is now distracted with an accusation that my son had bullied his classmates. Why don't you investigate him too?!"
"There's no need for investigation," Wu SuYi cut off. She didn't want Han XiGuang's mood to go down even lower, "There's a camera placed on two corners of the room, it should grabbed a clear picture from above of what actually happened. This would be harsh for the boys, but they would need to understand their mistakes for both accusing an innocent and for lying."
The boy who was wearing the glasses, who had witness against Rui pursed his lips and ran to cry. They were all then brought to the principle office while Mr. He screamed as she left the classroom, "This isn't unfair! Mark my words if I find injustice in this, I will make sure Rui would never stay in this school again! His reputation is done!"
Wu SuYi felt a tight grip on her arm as she looked down to see Rui hold her hand with a frightened expression which made her to become sad.
"We will be leaving the school now," Han XiGuang announced, holding Wu SuYi's hand before she realized and ushered her away from the classroom.
"Mr. Han! Please let us explain!" The principle shouted, hoping he would give them an ear to his conversation but instead, Han XiGuang left them.
Entering the car, Wu SuYi patted Rui's back, holding him tight to her embrace whispering gentle words, "It's alright Rui, everything was never your mistake. Get some sleep, I will be with you."
A slight trace of tear settled on Rui's eyes. He buried his face on Wu SuYi's shoulder, feeling warmth spreading to his face that coaxed him back to sleep.
Han XiGuang drove the care in silence. When he looked back to Wu SuYi, he noticed how Rui was asleep and calmed down to talk, "I'm sorry for bringing you to such a horrible day."
Everything started happily in the classroom but no one could expect the sudden turn of events, "No, I am glad that I was able to help and protect Rui." A small silence occurred between her words. She looked at him and replied, "The principle looked scared of you."
Han XiGuang stared at her, his long finger tapping on the steering wheel increase the tense air in the car, "What did you heard from them?"
"Rumors," Wu SuYi answered, "Biased rumors."
"What did they sound like?" Han XiGuang questioned. The car stopped at the red light, allowing him to stare at her for a longer time.
Seeing his eyes made Wu SuYi felt the reason for all those reason why those people had created those rumors. There was cruelty behind his gentleness. While Wu SuYi doesn't doubt his kindness, she also know a kind person are not made without any darkness inside them.
"Absurd," things like hurting Rui? Wu SuYi couldn't believe that. "Other are… dangerous."
"Let's start with the dangerous one. Was that why you asked about the principle?" Han XiGuang didn't seem to mind her question and Wu SuYi would have stopped her question when she sees his dislike to answer them.
"Something about the mafias," Wu SuYi shrugged her shoulders.
It wasn't as though she was scared of the underworld people. She would always keep her life in a safety position but her life didn't start in a safe position. Her family, wasn't all the cleanest behind the eyes of others. In fact, all those money laundering and also the threats that were made illegally, Wu SuYi regarded her family to be same or even worse than the mafias.
"You don't have to clear it," Wu SuYi stopped him before he managed to continue replying her. "I don't trust rumors until the person involved stated the words."
Han XiGuang's smile finally appeared. Even though his smile disappeared for a briefly twenty minutes, it felt long for her to see his smile again on his lips. This time, it was a gentle smile.
"That's a very bright belief, but, they're not wrong."
The car began to move again. Wu SuYi saw the darkness and light shading Han XiGuang's face switch as they drove again. The darkness increasing as his reply resounded inside the car, "Their words is not all falsehood."
