Jace hurried to his room. He had rearranged it to match Braes bedroom.
'Hopefully she'll like it', he thought.
When he arrived, Brae was sitting facing the window. Her back to was to him.
She didn't seem to have noticed him entered.
Usually he would have snuck up on her but considering how tense they are with each other right now, he decided to just tap the door to notify her of his presence.
"Are you hungry?", He asked as he walked towards her.
Brae rolled her eyes. Of course she was hungry, what a stupid question.
Her body was exhausted and she felt drained emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Jace stopped one foot from her and reached for her hand. Surprisingly she put her hand in his palm.
She was just over everything at this point. All Brae wanted to do was eat. It had been almost six hours since she last ate.
Jace led her to the dining room. The colour scheme was alot more homey than the last time she'd been there.
It was almost like the house had underwent a transformation. She felt alot more comfortable like this.
The house used to be all grey and black. It was bleak. Coupled with everything Jace put her through, it made it even more so unbearably suffocating.
The food was brought out by the staff.
The seating arrangement made it so they both say on one end of the table. Brae liked it like that, but Jace didn't.
Jace picked up his chair and moved it to sit adjacent to Brae. Now he could closely watch her eat and admire her.
"Did you seriously have to do that", Brae asked with snarkiness.
"What? Can't I watch my fiance eat", Jace replied with charm.
Braes heart jumped. She wasn't charmed, she was shocked.
"I thought by now you'd know. I'm not your fiance. I didn't even want to be in this relationship."
"Regardless we were in a relationship for over two years and we got engaged, right?", Jace questioned.
"Okay and then we broke up, right?", Brae countered.
It was quiet for a few seconds before Jace answered her.
"I never agreed to that".
