Chapter 25 - Stay Loyal

If truth was to be told, Minjae had brought Miyeon here to see whether or not she was missing her past life and desired to live that kind of life once again. But he was unable to see any signs of that upon her face.

A part of Lee Minjae was hung up on bringing back the old self of Miyeon— the one he craved for and loved. He was desperate to relive those past memories and wanted to recreate them with Oh Miyeon.

However, the innocent little girl from back then had turned into a mature woman, and even he had changed in lots of ways from back then. Although his desire seemed very close to impossible, he did not want to give up hope this easily.

If Oh Miyeon wanted to go back to lead her previous life, he had no problem in indulging her into going on.

Even if his Lee Family would not be on board with the idea, that was a simple matter to him. Even if things did not appear so, Minjae believed that he had everything under his control.

But up until now, Minjae was unable to see any possibility of her wanting to live that luxurious life, and it appeared that she enjoyed her current life more.

Lee Minjae did not understand the reason behind it; he didn't believe that he will be able to lead a life without luxury yet she seemed to find joy in every single moments.

Very clearly Minjae could recall the day Miyeon was on his side, when everyone else close to him abandoned him, despite being humiliated by him countless number of times and the victim to his numerous pranks.

Staring at the teachers with her defiant eyes, Miyeon told them off for blaming someone about stealing exam papers without concrete evidence, and later, she scolded the carefree Minjae on being a fool for not saying against this.

It was easy for others to suspect Minjae since he was notorious around the entire school, and that matter did not surprise him. Despite the truth being the fact that Minjae didn't steal the exam papers, Minjae thought it was quite foolish for Miyeon to trust him.

Then again, it was probably that foolishness that got Minjae to fall for her.

A thought to test the current Miyeon about a same situation came in his mind— in order to check whether or not she had changed— but immediately, he brushed that thought off of his mind. He did not want to put her through anything more.

"Are you really serious about not taking part in your family business?" Miyeon questioned, folding her arms across her chest.

Without a hint of seriousness, Minjae replied, "Such things would make me old, and those beauties would get bored."

"You're an adult enough, and you need to think of your prospects for the future. Your irresponsibility isn't going to get you anywhere," she spoke out, "You are going to make me worry at this rate."

In a joking tone and adding a wink, Minjae vocalised, "If this makes you worry about me, then I don't mind being like this forever."

"Geez, You Creep! If you can't stay loyal to your fiancée, then you should break it up with her. After all, other girls don't enjoy being victimised," she pointed out.

"Do you think Bohyun would allow it if I want to break up with her?" he asked.

Before Miyeon could get a chance to reply, a male in late thirties approached them with his female partner.
