Probably it was a wishful thinking on her side to expect Minjae to take her to somewhere normal or anywhere close to that. Even if she was fully aware that Minjae wouldn't take her to somewhere casual, this was far beyond her imagination.
Surrounded by top socialites and affluent people, anxiety brewed within Miyeon, and the desire to rush out of here increased within her.
Due to her being Minjae's companion, lots of eyes were on her, and couple of times, she could hear her names being taken. The people present was not even trying to be subtle.
'Two more hours. Just two more hours. You can endure for two more hours.'
Although she had the growing urge to get out of here, Miyeon was aware that she needed to hold that in if she wanted to gain victory over Bohyun. Thinking how irritated Bohyun would be after seeing this invigorated her.
The current situation— due to facing it after years— suffocated her and caused discomfort to rise within her.
'Geez! Does these people have nothing better to do other than staring at others like predators? Lee Minjae, you're dead for sure after this!'
Being constantly on wary about someone recognising her and rubbing salt on her wounds— another ability people hete were proud of— got Miyeon tired, and it has only been fifteen minutes since she arrived here.
Minjae, on the other hand, got fairly well along with the people present, and wearing on that similar fake smile, he conversed on with a man in his mid fifties.
"I'm surprised by not seeing Ms. Oh Bohyun beside you," The man vocalised.
To a person not used to this society, they wouldn't notice anything wrong with the man's statement. But Miyeon knew better; the man was sounding Minjae out for bringing another female other than his fiancée, and he clearly looked down on Miyeon.
"Everyone requires a change of taste," Minjae commented with playfulness evident on his tone.
His answer didn't surprise Miyeon at all since she was used to him behaving carelessly and creating trouble that was left for his family to clear up.
"Miss..." The man paused as if asking for her name.
"I'm Oh Miyeon," Miyeon politely replied, not wanting to offend the man as. Although she wasn't aware of his status or identity, he still was more influential than her.
"Miss Miyeon, I have a couple of friends. Would you like to get acquainted with them?" he stated
The insult held within those words of his was clearly noticed by Oh Miyeon, and she clenched her hand into a tight fist at that. Rage rose within her, and she desired to be rebuke at the man.
However, being well-aware that creating a scene at here would only attract more unnecessary attention at her, she maintained silence. People like him are everywhere. She could not bother to bring herself trouble over him.
She could only smile at the male.
"Mr. Nam, it appears that your partner for tonight is getting lonely," Minjae voiced out, "It is not polite to keep a beautiful woman waiting."
