Chapter 4 - Got accepted

Miyeon impatiently waited for Haera to arrive while she was seated inside a café. She found it hard within herself to not burst with exhilaration and control herself. She barely could wait to let Haera know of the matter.

Night Entertainment held a competition to draw comic about the new drama they are going to release within a year. To hype up everything, they wanted to release a comic about it prior to releasing a drama— a type of marketing— and thus, that lead to this competition on choosing an illustrator for it.

The entire thing, if selected, paid handsomely and would look good in one's résumé on work experience. After all, Night Entertainment was one of the top companies in South Korea.

Many entered for this with their artwork and getting selected for it was almost a dream for Miyeon. Everyone came from top universities and learned from professionals while Miyeon came from somewhere ordinary and was nowhere near their level when it came to educational background.

Expectations about getting a position for Miyeon was less than 0.001%, and now, that she was selected, she had a hard time believing it. It almost felt like a scam to her.

Seeing the sight of Haera as the girl walked in, a wide smile broke on to Miyeon's face. Finally, there was someone whom she could tell about this to. It was too difficult keeping it all to herself.

"What got you this excited?" Haera asked as soon as she pulled the chair in front of Miyeon and took a seat. Although Haera used that tone, she was happy that something positive was happening to Miyeon finally.

"OH MY GOD! Haera, you won't believe this! But I actually got accepted by Night Entertainment. I'm still having a hard time grasping this. I swear, this feels unreal at this point as well. Wow! Why it this hard to absorb this?" Miyeon spoke out excitedly with her big smile still there.

"Isn't Night Entertainment under your Soobinnie? Are you trying to chase him?" Haera questioned, arching both of her eyebrows, and amusement played in her eyes.

With confusion evident on Miyeon's face, she stared at Haera. It was very much visible that this was the first time she had heard about it.

"Really? I had no idea on that. I applied because of the comic artist contest," she answered honestly.

"You seriously didn't know that Night Entertainment is a subsidiary under Crescent Group? I thought you was aware of that. Even kids are aware of that," Haera dramatically stated.

"I knew of that, but I didn't know Soobin was charge of it. And even if he is, I have no chance on meeting him. It's the directors that will be looking at my work, so stop dreaming about nonsense," she voiced out.

Cresent Group held enormous power and had influence in all sectors. They had their branches spread out to the abroad as well, and they were really well-respected and praised all around South Korea.

"You aren't afraid of meeting your sister? I thought you are staying away from her," Haera voiced out.

"Don't worry about that. My sister isn't a cast in this, and about running into her in the Night Entertainment, I don't think there is any chance for that," Miyeon assured Haera.

"Oh yeah! From what I found out last night, the girl with Soobin yesterday was Kim Chayeon. She is his fiancé, and they are already engaged. She's the daughter of Velvet Group's Chairman."

Daughter of Velvet Group's Chairman and heir to Crescent Group appeared to be a good match to the outsider's eyes, and there was nothing Miyeon could say against their relationship.

In high-class families, what mattered wasn't love or comfort; what was needed is two persons are compatible in all sides possible so that no one can look down on the other and be on same level.

If Min Soobin was happy with this relationship, then she was glad for him. However, if he was not content, she could only feel pity for him.

"Oh! They suit each other I suppose," Miyeon voiced out.

At first, she thought that she will be feeling slight amount of hurt from the news. However, there was no such emotions within her; she just felt calm.

"What about Minjae then? Anyone can say that he fancies you," Haera said.

"Are you kidding me? Can you imagine us being in the same room without me trying to kill him?" she rolled her eyes— an action she found herself doing frequently this days, probably because of all the absurdity that piled up.
