Ryujii married Yuuki, and it took a few months for Yamato and Aoi to get married.
A year after their marriage, Ryujii and Yuuki brought a little girl into life. They named her Kanade. While the good news were celebrated by many, Dr. Hiro's wife, nurse Kaori also birthed a daughter. They named her Mio, it seems that her father is so doting on her to the extent that Kaori has to keep her husband in check.
It took a few more months for Yamato and Aoi to bear a child. It's a boy, which is named Keita by their parents. They have hopes on him to be good in studying. Who knows if they were right in the future?
The rest of them gradually got married and moved on with their lives. At least they still keep in touch and keep each other updated about their recent lives. Their relationship is still strong as ever.
Five years later, Kanade, Mio and Keita became preschoolers, they grew up playing with each other. Kanade idolises her father being a doctor that cures patients from a disease he had before. So she wanted to be a doctor. Mio, however is good with art. She has a sketchbook filled with drawings she enjoyed filling the pages every day. Keita is gifted as a learner. He learns very fast, as well as a good athlete that is being praised as a well rounded student by his teachers.
There is also a girl who was friends with the three of them. She's good in singing, none of her classmates could match her in singing. She's the best singer in class.
It took a little misfortune to separate them. The said girl became ill. It's the disease. The very same one that plagued Kanade's parents. Kanade swears to become a doctor to save her, while Mio could only cry for being unable to help at all. Keita, however was in shock. That very day, he got into an accident.
"The same misfortune again, after all these years. You really are one mischievous one." A middle-aged man nearby muttered before walking away. Keita woke up in a hospital, with a blank stare, his demeanour changed since then. It appears that he completely forgot about his friends. He became aloof, not even talking to anyone other than necessary.
"Kei-kun, what happened?" Kanade asked for the whoever knows how many times.
"..." Keita ignores.
"If I keep asking, I don't think I'll ever get to know the answer. But I want us to remain as friends, can't we?" Kanade asked.
"... Suit yourself." Keita said after a long pause. From that moment onwards, a relationship of an outgoing girl and an aloof boy is established. Keita seemed to regret it over the years.
Spring, on the year when Kanade and Mio got into middle school, it's when Kanade slowly spend less time with Keita. Keita's birthday is in July, which caused him to start attending middle school a year later than Kanade and Mio.
Kanade became a popular student among both her peers as well as for teachers. She has good looks, good grades, as well as a kind personality. She is well liked by everyone in school. She even have rejected countless guys who dared to ask her out. Despite being sick of the drama that was going on, she managed to make herself respectable among the girls.
Mio joined the art club, slowly became the only active member. While club members must be at least three or above, Kanade always helped recruiting the members so that Mio can continue to do what she likes. She rarely speaks, as if she was never there. Her bangs covers her eyes, she's usually found in the art room painting alone. She gradually grows to love the silence of being alone in a room.
Keita however, attended a different middle school. While his grades being slightly above average, he started playing video games, just like any normal middle schooler. He spend his time on both studying and gaming. He did not make any friends, over the three years in middle school. His classmates refers him as a sleep zombie, yet his name still appears at where the good students should be. Giving him a little respect that loners would fight for that little acknowledgement.
Three years after, the three of them met again in the same school where Kanade's parents studied years ago, Hokutosei high. Kanade and Mio being second year students, while Keita is a first year student.
"Kei-kun! That dull guy over there!" Kanade cheered.
"Shhh! Kanade-chan, you're being too loud!" Mio responded.
"We are finally in the same school! I wonder what will happen next?" Kanade said.
"Um... Yes, it's such a long time ago since I met Kei-kun..." Mio muttered.
"Yes? What did you said?" Kanade asked.
"Ah... No, nothing!" Mio said, flustered.
"What a nuisance... These many people in a cramped space. I wanna go home..." Keita thought.
"Ah! Watch out!" A guy shouted from behind. Before Keita could react, a guy falls on top on him.
"Ah, I'm so sorry, I was trying to wear my shoes properly, but I got nudged ahaha..." The guy that falls on top of him apologized.
"A normie!" Keita thought. Being uncomfortable in a cramped place filled with unfamiliar people and having to deal with a normie in his first day of high school is unfortunate for him. Thinking back, the accident seven years ago was way worse. The normie guy helped himself up and tried to help Keita, but he refused.
"Ah haha... My name is Kiryu Itsuki, what's yours?" Itsuki asked.
"Futaba Keita." Keita replied.
"Oh Keita, nice to me-"
"Don't talk to me again." Keita interrupts before Itsuki could finish his words.
"Ah, an unfriendly one is it? Ahaha..." Itsuki said awkwardly.
After the opening ceremony, the students navigate their way to their class. Keita found his seat and sat down. It took a while until a familiar face showed up.
"Oh, isn't it Keita. Guess we're neighbours now. Let's get along." Itsuki said.
"... Suit yourself." Keita said.
Thus, a new saga has begun. whether it's about the story of Keita's endeavours in high school, or the story of Keita's youth. It is for the future to decide.
