The bell rang, indicating the end of lunch break. Itsuki came back to his classroom and sits on his seat.
"Hey, I didn't know you're neighbours with Kujou-senpai." Itsuki said.
"It's natural to not know anyone's neighbour. No need to get worked up like that." Keita replied.
"Thanks to you, I've made friends with Kujou-senpai! I'm so excited!" Itsuki said.
"Suit yourself." Keita said.
"Huh, you're not gonna do what you did back there in the cafeteria?" Itsuki said.
"What are you? A masochist?" Keita asked.
"Well, considering what that pity guy had experienced, I think that's what gonna happen to me." Itsuki said nervously.
"As long Kana-nee is not bothered, it's none of my business." Keita said, as he wrap up the plastic wrapper, preparing to throw it into the trash bin at the corner of the classroom.
"Heh, you're so concerned about her, are you trying to make her yours?" Itsuki suggested.
"No, I don't think so." Keita said, with a disgusted expression. It surprised Itsuki that he would be so against the idea of being together with the 'Flower of Hokutosei'. The two did not speak until the end of curricular hours.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Keita!" Itsuki said as he left the class. The students leave the classroom one by one, including Ayumi. Keita remained alone in the classroom, savouring the silence of being alone. It does not make him feel at ease, but he just want the silence. Keita turned on his phone display to look at the time, 20 minutes has passed.
"It's time to go." Keita thought. He walked out of the school and headed towards the train station.
"There you are, Kei-kun!" Kanade appeared out of nowhere, surprising Keita.
"Kana-nee... Please act according to your age." Keita said.
"It's just Kei-kun anyways, Let's go home together!" Kanade invited. Their houses are just next to each other, it's still the same journey even if they split up now. Keita let out a sigh before complying Kanade's invitation.
"We've arrived!" Kanade said as the two of them stepped out of the station. Keita couldn't understand Kanade's actions. She is acting like that in front of him, not in front of others.
"So how's school today?" Kanade asked.
"I got elected as the class rep. What a pain." Keita said.
"Wow! Kei-kun as a class rep? I know Kei-kun will make a good class rep!" Kanade exclaimed.
"Oh shoot! I forgot about Mio-chan!" Kanade exclaimed. Keita nodded as he remembered who Mio is.
"Ah, I'm gonna message her about not waiting for us!" Kanade pulled out her phone and started typing a message. On the way home, Kanade's phone dinged a few times forth.
"Alright, I'm heading this way. See you again. Send my regards to aunt Yuuki." Keita went straight into his house after finishing his words.
Back in school, Mio Shiroyuki looked at her phone and saw a sneaky selfie Kanade pulled on her way home with Keita. Despite being seen emotionless all the times, she smiled. She saved the picture and put away her phone and resumed painting in the art room.
Keita on the other hand cleaned up his room, went to shower and prepared lunch all by himself. He sits in the dining room alone, slowly eating on his lunch while playing Puzzle Hazard on his phone. Out of sudden, Ayumi sent him a message.
"It's odd that it worked! I cleared level 56!" Ayumi sent a message along with a screenshot. Keita failed his run on level 207 because of the notification. It mildly frustrates him.
"Congratulations." Keita replied. As he reattempted the level, her message interrupted his run once again.
"Help! I can't get through level 61!" Ayumi sent a message. Keita sent a detailed message on how to get through the clear points in that level and then turned off his phone.
"It's nice to be able to talk about the games I played. But this is beyond annoying." Keita thought to himself before he cleaned up the dishes and went to study.
In Ayumi's room, she followed Keita's explanation on clearing the levels.
"Oh yes!" Ayumi cheered as she got through the level.
"Ayumi! Don't bother the guests downstairs!" Her mother shouted.
"Alright, mom." Ayumi responded before continuing to attempt the levels.
Night, Keita turned on his phone so that he can create the class committee group on RAINE.
Keita, Ayumi, Natsumi and Hikaru.
"This is the class 1-B's committee group." Keita notified the other members.
"Yes, I'm Natsumi Natsuki, let's get along well." Natsumi sent.
"Hikaru here, let's make 1-B great!" Hikaru sent.
"Ayumi Mikoto." Ayumi sent.
"Keita Futaba." Keita sent.
"What we gonna come up first? Any plans?" Hikaru sent.
"Come up with the duty schedule, then appoint some other committee members. This is what I could think of at the moment." Natsumi sent.
"What other committee members should we add in?" Hikaru sent.
"A treasurer, a secretary, and a few welfare members I think." Natsumi sent.
"Both of you don't have a specific position yet, do you want to pick one of the positions?" Ayumi sent.
"Yes, I would like to be the treasurer then." Natsumi sent.
"Then I'll take the secretary." Hikaru sent.
"It's all settled, let's meet again tomorrow." Keita sent.
"Alright, sleep well everyone." Natsumi sent.
"Goodnight!" Hikaru sent.
"Goodnight." Ayumi sent.
Keita placed his phone on his desk before turning off the lights. He laid down on his bed and noticed, he's been socializing a lot today.
"It's all your fault, Itsuki Kiryu." He thought before closing his eyes to sleep.
"Kei-kun! What happened?! Wake up! Wake uppp!!!" A little girl's voice echoed. Keita opens his eyes to find himself in a blank white space.
"What in the world is happening now..." Keita thought as he wandered around. At a sudden, he heard footsteps. Anxious as he is, he slowly turned to his back.
"Let's not be friends anymore." The silhouette of a little girl said.
"Ah, wait! Argh... My head hurts...!" Keita remembers something. Something in the past, way before he met with the accident that turned him the way he is now. Being so in pain that he closed his eyes, he struggled for a moment until he fell off his bed.
THUNK!
"Ugh... It hurts... So it was a dream. What a pain." Keita thought.
