Chapter 10 - Max Level Skills and Overpowered Equipments (1)

After staring at the old parchment stating the new instance, Zyair reluctantly moved his mouse and clicked <"Yes">. The moment the <"Yes"> was clicked, the old parchment was torn into half. And like a door, the scenery behind the old parchment after it was torn into two changed.

RiverSun now stands in the beautiful hallways. The floor, the wall and the ceiling is all crystal blue. And from the decorations on the hallway, Zyair could tell that RiverSun is now inside the castle corridors. Not just an ordinary castle, it seems to be a crystal castle. Don't ask Zyair how he knew how his avatar was now inside a castle.

Unlike Zyair's mansion, a castle, although, has a big, spacious hall and ballroom, but they were all situated below and at ground floor. Upstairs, they may have long hallways, but it was full of corners and rarely have long straight ways, like how it is in a mansion. In Zyair's mansion, he only has straight pathways. Unless, you go through a door, or go to other rooms. And hallways in Zyair's mansion only have four corners.

However, right now, Zyair's avatar stood in a hallway with three different pathways. RiverSun stood at the dead end, looking in front, there's a short pathway but it was divided into two. Looking to his left, there's another pathway going straight and towards the right. Then to RiverSun's right is the same. There's a way straight and another to the left.

This is also the reason why dungeon games always use a castle and not a mansion when it comes to their maps.

A castle corridor could become a maze where one could walk round and round without going to the right path, if not careful. More so, a castle has so many different levels. If this castle is one of those that doesn't have stairs and only narrow corridors upwards in spiral elevation,  then one is doomed to really get lost.

With a blank face, Zyair controlled his avatar and chose a random road and walked in. Zyair really didn't want to use his head in games like this. What's the use in carefully choosing which road to walk into, when you don't know what is beyond those. This is one of the reasons why he hated this game. Not only does it have those role playing instances, it also has mazes, puzzles and mystery instances. Zyair could already guess that this instance is one of those time pressured games.

From the way this castle corridors were built, Zyair was certain that once his avatar reached the starting point, the time would begin and this crystal castle would start to crumble.

Though, Zyair still hasn't seen or heard the usual "Ting!" Where the system will give him the main task, Zyair is certainly sure of his thoughts. After all, this happened before.

Zyair doesn't have many hobbies. Because of his heart he was restricted. Qantas urged him to play some games before passing some time. Playing games didn't need much energy, he just needed to sit and move his fingers and concentrate. But in the end, Zyair volunteered to stop playing. Why? Because Zyair was a gamer idiot. And every time he would explode once he lost.

One time, he was almost sent straight to the hospital after repeatedly failing to get the mushroom for Zario at level one. Zyair repeatedly complained that the mushroom slipped too fast, little Zario can't run that quick. In the end, Wii is the only thing that could stay with Zyair through the very end. Zyair could swing his arms everywhere and he could win boxing without a sweat. Still, Qantas restricted his playing time. Because Zyair moved so much, Zyair got tired easily.

Anyway, this kind of setting happens in games many times. Zyair saw Qantas playing Resident Devil once. It was in a ship and Qantas had to get out of it before it exploded. There's also Legend of Delda, which Zyair played before. After defeating the boss, he needed to get out of the boss room or else he would be buried alive.

Also, he has played this kind of setting before in the Gluttony instance. The Forest is the maze and Zyair has to play as Hansel and get out of the maze with Gretel before the sun sets. He has to do it two times. The first one is to go back home. And the second time, he needed to go towards the Gingerbread house. The main task is to make the Gingerbread house disappear. Such a weird task, Zyair didn't get it at first. But when he saw Gretel start eating the window, Zyair finally knew what the task meant. RiverSun has to eat the Gingerbread house!

"Over my dead body!" Zyair shouted in disgust. Who will eat that thing?! Disgusting! Zyair, the clean freak, controlled his character and went to untie the golden whip made from goose girl's hair from his waist, and directly destroyed the Gingerbread house. Anyway, it's as crispy and crunchy as a cookie. RiverSun easily destroyed the house and stepped on it till it turned into dust, and completed the main task. The only problem was the witch that came after Zyair destroyed the house. The witch wanted to eat Gretel for eating her house and she wanted to kill Hansel for destroying her house and eat him in the end. Nevertheless, Zyair was so tired and annoyed, and didn't want to play anymore. He already completed the main task, so he directly exited the game and didn't look nor listen to the witch till the very end. He didn't know what happened to Gretel then, and he didn't care anyway.

What Zyair didn't know was that Gretel was shocked and dumbfounded when he saw Hansel disappear. The witch was furious and didn't let Gretel prepare and directly attacked her. In the end, Gretel was killed and was eaten by the Witch. The witch made another gingerbread house to keep luring kids to eat.

—The end.
