Running through the dense forest, the delicate white, silk dress danced through the evening wind, and the golden locks of hair patterned the air. She ran. Her breath was irregular, and her sweat was sliding down her face, but she carried on. Her eyes adjusted to the dark very quickly, with one objective on her mind.
"Lil! Where are you?" she shouted to the darkness. Silence was the temporary answer.
"Over here!" said a voice calmly, outside the thickness of the trees and in the open of the stars. A young girl was sat on a wooden bench, her hair flowing against the roughness of the wind and the stars shone even brighter than before. The girl stood up, letting her hair loose from the ponytail and into their natural state. Her clothes were warmly wrapped on her delicate body, and her scarf cuddled her happily.
"Sorry mum that I run out like that, I just couldn't wait to see the shooting stars today and spend time with you, your job takes up most of the time you know." Lil said, happily walking over to her mother. Serentilia sighed with relief and hugged her daughter, then went over to the bench. She sat down and invited her to join. The night was calm and The Park was peaceful.
Up above them a star flown by quickly. Shooting stars. They were all in perfect harmony, jumping high across the starry sky like beautiful ballerinas on stage. The rest of the stars and constellations looked from above and enjoyed the view. The two girls looked up and stared at the sleeping sky.
Lil offred her mum her scarf, noticing how unsuitably she was dressed for one of the coldest nights of the year. Underneathe the scarf she took off, revealed a necklace with a light pink stone attached to it. She quickly grabbed it and closed her eyes, taking deep breaths in. Serentilia looked at her curiously, she could never figure her out, not now and not back then. She stood up and looked once more at the sky and thought of how this was a beautiful evening. Until...
" Mum, get down!" Lil shouted and jumped onto her, letting the ball of fire attack the ground instead of frying them. Smoke was tearing through the air, as another shot came in to hunt them down. Both girls rolled to the side, missing the shot once again, as adrenaline started to kick in. Dissipating into the tense atmosphere, the smoke revealed the characters that were responsible for the attacks.
A dragon with watchful, wise eyes staring straight into one's soul, a blue-skinned person with a bow and arrow aimed at them with a sneer and an ugly werewolf that was growling his boredom away. Their eyes were blood red with the scent of death lingering around the group. The blue-skinned person aimed at Lil, pinting harshly a smirk on their face, as she let go of the fire consumed death trap. Serentilia shoved her daughter away and moved her face away, missing the the puncture of the arrow by millimeters. The creature growled. They gave commands to the dragon and the werewolf, to go after the younger girl and stop her smile, as she went after Serentilia.
Lil saw the creatures go after her, with their evil aura spreading through the grass and air. She screamed.
Fire was raging rapidly around The Park, attempting to hunt down Lil like a prey being chased by a predator. Lil, without looking, dropped to the ground allowing the oversized dog to miss her body. She sighed with relief. Yet, she was quickly overpowered when the werewolf jumped on top of her, this time grasping onto her body, its claws playing with her skin lika a pianist furiously hitting the keys. The razor sharp teeth were glimmering devilshly and started approaching the neck of the frightened girl. Lil stared at it scared, knowing she didn't have any power to push the monster off her. Her adrenaline disappeared with fatigue wrapping its claws around the punctured body.
She closed her eyes.
Serentilia dodged each arrow that was shot at her, making the creature angrier than before. It tossed his weapon aside, regadring it as a useless piece of junk and pounced on to Serentilia's back. She hit the ground hard, tatooing her skin with bruises. Blue fingers grasped her face, covering her mouth and told her:
"Well, well. What do we have here. I am just sure that Master Tene will be so grateful, if we kill you and your precious daughter right now."
Serentilia's eyes opened wide, and looked over at Lil. They were both in trouble and couldn't do anything about it. 'If only he was here' - she thought to herself.
Lil's heartbeat quickened dramtically and tears slowly paced down her face; she couldn't even shout 'mum'.
"I am so sorry mum, I couldn't protect you..."
Suddenly a dagger pierced through the werewolf's body, making it spit out blood onto her pale face. She looked above her to see who rescued her, but couldn't focus her vision to get a clear image of her saviour. All she heard was a shout, "Take care of the dragon for a while, I will get this girl over to the trees, she is injured and covered in blood! What is up with today anyway?"
The mysterious person gently picked Lil up of
wthe floor, taking her away from the fighting, his black hair disguising with the night sky but his eyes stood out and were looking down at her. She placed her head on his chest and mumbled under her breath. He stood still for a moment. He caught his breath back and placed her next to the tree. Her clothes were torn from where the were wolf took hold of her and blood covered her body like an art piece. He placed his coat onto her and whispered, "Don't move from here, I will go and get your mum here safely as well." He left her.
Serentilia was released from the woman, and was shocked to see the black haired boy carrying Lil to the dense tree part of the park. She knew that help had come, just in time. She heard the blue skinned creature curse, took hold of a small dagger and pointed it at Serentilia. She held back her arm and quickly swung it down at Serentilia's back. However, the blue hand was stopped in mid air by the black haired boy, who wasn't looking at it. He sighed and kicked it in the stomach , weakening the body.
"You should probably get to your daughter, you can stand on your own right?" he asked her. She nodded, thanked him quickly and ran off to Lil, not realising that the dragon was still let loose.
William took some rope out and tied the warlock so it couldn't move and tossed it next to the bench, where the grass was burned to the ground. He warned it not to move a muscle or he would kill it himself. William left it there and run off to help James with the dragon.
"Today really was unbelievable, you were right James." he smirked and joined the unexpected battle.
A crystal blue, white magic circle appeared near the blue skinned warlock, a tall figure came out of it accidentally hitting the body on the floor, He raised his eyebrow and looked over at the dragon's direction, than over at Serentilia's direction. He rolled his eyes and run over to the two boys, and joined the party. His red, black hair stood out on guard and his purple eyes widened, his expensive clothes shone out in boredom. He shot a blue magic spell ball at the dragon, trying to restrain it down.
"You boys, this is kinda tiring you know, just kill it already!!!" he shouted.
James and William looked at each other and both tried to plunge their swords into its thick scales. However, the swords couldn't cut through and not one scratch was made. They both looked at each other than at the other person, who collapsed on the floor - panting. The spell was still intact pn the dragon, but not for long, as it takes loads of energy to keep a wild beast tamed, especially a dragon.
Serentilia took hold of Lil. She checked if she was fine and asked if she was hurt. Lil told her that she was worrying too much, she was in worse conditions after a football match. They both smiled. Lil looked over at the people who were trying to defeat the dragon. She knew this was not normal, she was worried that they would get hurt, that it was her fault that this happened. Serentilia touched her face, and explained that it wasn't her fault. That unfortunately, these sort of things happen. She smiled again.
Lil looked at her then back at the boys who were struggling. She noticed how the thing that was holdin down the dragon wore off and it attacked the people who saved her and her mother. The two younger ones were lying on the floor and the other one with red, black hair was examining the brown haired boy who looked horrible. She stood up, all of her energy returning back to her and run straight to the black haired boy standing up without realizing that he was the one closest to the dragon.
William was brought down by the girl he rescued, he was shouting at her for what she thought she was thinking, before he realised that the dragon roared fire at them and if it wasn't for her he would have been fried. She got off him, looked at the others, than at the dragon.
Lil looked very closely at the dragon's eyes and notices that something was not right, the pupils weren't normal. She stood up and looked at the ruby dragon, took hold of her necklace - which started to shine as brightly as a star, and inhaled some air - hearing a familiar voice saying 'you can do this'. She looked at it once more and shouted "HEAL" , releasing a pure white radiating light at the dragon, enveloping its body. Every one looked at her in shock. The light stopped shining and the dragon flew down to the ground. It looked at the girl and bowed its head.
" I am terribly sorry, I did not mean to hurt anyone, I was possessed by someone I do not remember. I would be aware if it were any of you. Plus, young lady - thank you, it was like a nightmare and you released me." The dragon said quickly before flying off into the night sky without any other words.
Lil smiled. She looked back at everyone else to see if they were safe, before collapsing into the darkness. Just in time, William caught her and held her until her mother came.
"Thanks." He said.
