Time ticked on. Minutes and hours started to pass through the night. William's eyes slowly started to close for the night. Angrily, he yawned. The night slowly turned into lighter shades of blue; he decided that he would take a break. Drifting into a light slumber , he didn't realize that the girl in the bed in front of him was fully awoke.
*She was running. Her long, silk, white dress danced with the wind as she ran with someone in front. She was laughing. Her golden hair were making beautiful patterns, that adorned her and the aura around her. The emerald grass glistened in the sunlight, the hopeful sky silently listened to the pair.
In front of her, a tall man was running, gently holding her hand. However, his face was blurred and unrecognizable. He was showing her the beauty of planet Earth, he shown her his favorite places. His black and white cape surrounded his black uniform, with golden buttons and white outlines, showing the status of his family.
"Remember, this is our secret, no matter if you are not allowed down here - I will always keep you safe... Even if I have to die to save you." his gentle voice soothed her. They stopped running and stood under a cherry blossom tree. Their eyes locked and they leaned into eachother. Their faces nearly touched eachother and then...*
Her eyes opened. Lil looked around to make sure she was not dreaming anymore; she found her phone on a stool beside her and saw that it was 6:15 in the morning. Lil's eyes quickly drifted towards the boy who was sleeping beside her. His face was gentle and sharp, his breathing was calm and relaxing, she realized that he was with her for the whole night. Turning red within seconds, she turned to look the other direction, he just fell asleep - next to her.
Deciding what to do with herself, she got out of bed quietly - hoping not to wake the sleeping boy up from his dreams. She looked down on herself and saw how she was wearing a plain, simple nightgown. Her hair was still in a long braid, with strands sticking out. Her bear feet shouted in shock once they touched the cold, hard floor. Shaking from one place to another, she looked for a change of clothes in the ginormous hall. Tiptoeing, her breath quickened when she saw a desk with different equipment and viles of blood laying impatiently next to a microscope. She glanced away. Chills spread across her spine and to the whole body.
Noticing a pile of clean clothing carefully placed on a old-fashioned chair next to the window, who was allowing light to enter into the sleeping room. Silently, she walked towards the chair and took the clothes; the white dress with golden swirls, with black knee high boots looked about her size, she went to a covered area and went to change. Before she changed into the clothes, she saw thaat she had bandages hugging her stomach with dried blood on them. She gulped before changing.
William woke up. He didn't realize that his head was softly laying against the bed of the girl that was injured. Looking up, he saw that she was gone from the bed and was walking with a neatly folded nightgown in her hands towards him. She was wearing the clothes that had magically appeared when she was carried into the castle. _Well she looks just fine. Wait... what is that on her arm?_ He looked at her with a serious look. Lil was taken back with his expression and decided to ask what the matter was.
"What is that on your left arm?" he inquired, nodding his head at her arm. Lil's confused face looked down onto her arm, her eyes widened when she saw golden lines on her arm, she took a breath in and looked at William.
"Did you tattoo me when I was asleep, very funny but I don't need anything on my skin. I do not agree to it." she spat out the words with a hint of anger. She noticed that he had a smirk on his face and wanted to know what was so funny about the whole situation.
"I never thought you would accuse me of tattooing you, your skin is way too light to have ink covering you. Plus I didn't do it as I do not see the point. Also, for your information, all I did was stay by your side for the whole night doing nothing but watching you, and waiting, to see you awake so that I could go to sleep. Yet you didn't. Oh ye, one more thing, your welcome." William stopped talking, expecting an answer from the girl in front of him.
She placed the clothing on the other bed and went to sit next to where, he had his head propped against the white sheets. She stared at his face for a while before finally answering him:
"Thanks, and sorry for snapping at you; you are right, you have been waiting for me to wake up and all you got was a bag full of angry words... I guess you were also the one who saved me from the werewolf, weren't you?" she asked him and received a nod for an answer.
"Going back to the topic of the tattoo, I do not know what it is but I have a strong feeling that it saved me. Also, I see that you have the exact same one on your neck. So... am I a part of a secret club I know nothing about or what?" Lil blabbed on until she needed to take a breath in.
He decided to answer before he was flooded with questions, "You are right, this is a secret club. But only special people are allowed to be in it. Which means - I guess - that you are special. If you weren't, than your arm would not be attached to your body right now ad you would have been dead. Welcome to the weird club, if you want all the details, I guess I can take you to the head of the club" he winked at her with an evil smirk, showing him off.
Gulping, she looked away and thought to herself for a moment. Jumbled up to much, she shook her head and turned back to look at him, and finally decided to ask him the question that was on top of her list that moment.
"Hey, so you know the tattoo mon my arm, what does it do? I doubt it doesn't do nothing so... what does it do? Strength? Healing?" she finished suddenly, realizing that she didn't need an answer but Lil saw that he stared at her and answered her, that is was for health and healing. Gleaming with curiosity - intensively thinking of what to say - her eyes scanned the room and then the boy that was still laying against the bed, she tilted her head with her lips slightly parted. Finally, she found the words to ask him the most important question she could think off.
Sighing, she searched for her voice and wondered why she was so nervous to ask him a question, when she just talked to him. "So. What is your name? I never asked and I would like to know who saved me." the words slipped out of her mouth. He looked at her blue eyes and paused. His name. She wanted to know his name. _ What a weird girl she is, just now she wanted to know huh_ he looked away and answered, "William Herolion, just call me William."
William. She recognized that name from somewhere. So familiar yet so unfamiliar. She couldn't think of where she heard it before. Looking away, she barged herself through her memories trying to find an answer to her question ; she found nothing.
"Lily, my name is Lily but everyone calls me Lil, so (she emphasized) call me Lil," she finally broke the silence and the tension between her and William. She looked back at the boy, who still has not moved from his place and asked him, " Are you comfortable like that on the floor, you look. Umm. Ye, you look like. I think you should get up, don't you? You giving me a bad impression of you. Then again, I did save you before." Lil finished with a wide smirk across her face. He narrowed his eyes.
She blinked. One second he was on the bed, the next he was standing behind her - holding his short, sharp sword behind her neck. He laughed. William never had any girl being annoying to him, he realized that Lil was pretty smart and knows how to get answers. A laugh came out from his nose. Moving next to her ear, he said softly that he is surprised that she has the gut to talk like that to him, her savior. Then carried on to say that these are not tattoos on him of her, but marks that only special people can see. He moved away from her face. His electric blue eyes stayed on her, he noticed that her breathing got irregular and that she started to shake slightly. He smiled, he liked to see her vulnerable however, he felt guilty and looked down.
His gaze turned to the desk with different equipment and wondered what was on it. He poked her head until she turned around. Her angry face stunned him, before she could complain and ask him why he kept poking her, he pointed to the desk - whilst walking over to the desk. Raising his eyebrow slightly, William looked back at her and told her to join him. She did as she was told. Her footsteps echoed in the room, the walls were still sleeping even though the sunlight was burning them up, and the echoes were hitting them roughly.
Lil took a big breath in went to stand next to William. Her face twisted when she started to look at the blood viles.
"What do you want now?" she asked impatiently.
"Are you scared of blood? Or are you-" William started to talk before he was cut of by her.
"I do not like the idea that someone has taken blood from me without my consent. Plus I am not scared I just do not like the idea that someone is looking at my blood. That person could easily be a bad person and now they might know everything about me." She got everything out of her mind and shouted at him, even though she knew that it wasn't him who did it.
He looked at her and asked how she knew that it was her blood in the viles. Lil looked at him and said that she was born with her senses more sensitive. Not much, but she can hear better than most people and she could tell you whose blood it was or if something is burning.
Surprised, William looked back at the desk and went over to the book that had all the records of analyses. He looked at the last name - Lil - and scanned the page to find that she had angel blood. She looked at him and then at the book.
"Angel blood. What is this?" Lil asked curiously, hoping to get an answer form William but got nothing.
"Whatever. Another person will be staying here now. By the way - like I said- the head can tell you everything. Anyways, we should go and get breakfast. You will be staying here, so you should meet everyone." William said emotionlessly and started to walk towards the door. Lil was surprised at his response.
"Didn't you say that this tatto-, mark was only for special people, so didn't you know that I had ummm, angel blood, doesn't it make sense. Plus, why would I stay here, you do realize that I have my own life back out there." Lil talked back furiously. _How dare he just talk like that to me, I literally did nothing to him_
He sighed. Not knowing how to say it politely he just told her, "Listen. True that only people like us can have those marks, but I would not think you would stay here." he paused, avoiding eye contact. "You look pretty smart so I can tell you this, you were attacked probably for the very reason you have angel blood. I don't need more people in my life, especially a girl who knows nothing about this world, knows nothing about herself, and can use magic. Because. Guess what. Me or my friends cannot use magic." He stopped for a moment to get his thoughts together. "It is not normal and will never be. Oh, and by the way, you should know that if you do wanna go back, you would be risking all your friends life. So its either everyone is safe by you staying here, or everyone you care about die. Choose." Anger slowly started to pour out of his mouth, he carried on saying, "Lets get going. Its nearly 7, breakfast should be ready by now. You should also watch your mouth, don't just blab out your whole story. Its obvious that you are not a liar."
Lil stopped. Her stomach turned upside down, as if it was punched by one of the wrestlers. She looked away and went towards him. inches away from him, she told him to lead the way to breakfast. William turned and walked off, with the frightened girl behind him.
"I'm sorry." the words slithered out of her lips almost silently.
