The city of Verreaux was certainly large and populated but aside from the wall it wasn't anything far from Sagar's expectations. They had buildings everywhere you see, there was constant movement throughout the streets, and it was quite lively.
It took the family about twenty minutes to get to the Drak family residence but it was mainly due to traffic all over the capital rather than distance. If they were walking on foot it would have maybe took about ten minutes but it wasn't like anybody was complaining about it anyway.
The residence itself was quite a large size that it couldn't exactly be put into words. Not only that but there were other buildings around it as well covering a good chunk of this one area of the city. Turning to his mother Sagar asked her, "Do all the major families have places this large?"
She responded to him a in matter of factly manner, "Believe it or not the Drak family only has a medium sized residence compared to other families. Even then it's considered to be on the smaller side of the medium residences. Either way there is a good amount of the family that live just here along with the people that work here as well, of course it's going to take up some room."
Nodding his head Sagar continued waiting for the carriage to stop so that they could get off. It was only when they entered the walls surrounding the residence along with the carriage itself parking where some other carriages were located.
Getting out the carriage Sagar went to get all of their packed stuff down, taking it inside but before he could grab anything his mother got out of the carriage carrying Aquilia and told him.
"Sagar you don't have to worry about getting all the stuff down some of the people employed here will take care of it. Right now we have to go meet my uncle."
Sagar simply followed his mother after hearing her as he was curious about what her uncle was like as well. His mother talked about him before mentioning that he was the current head of the family as well as someone who had done a lot of stuff for her.
The family walked into the biggest building that also happened to be in the middle of the residence. Sagar figured that this is where the head lived maybe with other members of the family but he didn't ask so he wasn't sure.
Inside there was decorations everywhere, with everything looking to be of a good value, along with it being practically spotless too. Sagar wasn't sure if they had some device they used that cleaned out the mansion, if they used some kind of magic, or just had some really good cleaners.
Eventually they came to a double door which Beatrice promptly opened without knocking or asking to walk in. The first thing that Sagar saw were the several older men sitting in a orderly manner around on other person. Some of them surrounding the person looked a lot older than him while others looked around his age or younger. While most of them were men he did notice two women when he got a better look around. One of the women looked to be the oldest out of everyone in the room while the other looked only a bit older than his mother. In total excluding his family and him there were thirteen people in the room with twelve of them centered around a central figure.
Sagar could also feel the power oozing off of them with each person being either as strong or stronger than his mother. So just going off everything he's seen and felt he could could guess that this was where all the elders along with the head of the family meet to discuss things. That also meant that the central figure was the uncle of his mother, James Drak.
When they entered everyone in the room looked towards them and were somewhat shocked well except for one person.
"Ah Beatrice you've finally arrived. I was wondering if something happened to take you so long to come back.", pausing for a moment he saw Aquilia in her arms along with Sagar who was behind her, "Oh are these your children, wonderful I've been wanting to meet them ever since you told me about them."
Before James could get up and approach them one of the elders called out, "Head what exactly is going on, were you expecting Beatrice's arrival but failed to inform us."
Responding James said, "Well yes, she told me she was coming back a few months back. I was quite surprised when I received a letter from her as she cut off all contact when she left worrying me for such a long time. Who knew that when she did contact me she would bring a bunch of great news along with it."
Another one of the elders butted in again, "Wait wasn't she not able to walk last time we saw her?"
James answered back, "Why yes she was but now she has fully recovered. Not only is she able to walk again but she has fully restored her strength it's quite a miracle."
While the other elders were shocked at hearing about her recovery as they now fully remembered the condition she was whenever she had left, James went up to Beatrice and would have given her a hug but she was currently holding her daughter.
Looking down at the cute baby who was still sleeping even with all the commotion going on around her James said, "This must be Aquilia, she looks just like you did whenever you were a baby, just more on the quiet side."
Beatrice chuckled a little at her uncle's comment replying to him, "You should see her whenever she's not sleeping maybe then you'll see what she's really like."
Giving out a hard laugh James turned his eyes towards the boy in the back who hadn't said a word yet and was just observing those around him until he noticed James' gaze. Sagar looked straight into his eyes only to break contact when he gave a slight bow.
This surprised James a bit because he didn't think that Beatrice would have taught him basic etiquette of all things. The girl herself loathed it probably stemming from the fact that she was more used to the atmosphere of a mercenary band. Looking at Beatrice she seemed like she didn't know about this either.
Finishing his bow Sagar told him with fervor,"Thank you for taking care of my mom when when she was younger, and thank you for your care now."
