Chapter 26 - The final week Pt 1

---Outside existence---

'Well, we got the basics for him now. It was kind of you to give him the extra week. Is it apart of your plan, or something else?' asked the evil system as it continued to watch over Aaron.

'. . .'

'Ah, so it's because of the sun. You never really gave any of the others chances like this. But then again, you've never given them some sort of bonus at the start. Hmm... since he's more of evil by necessity, we can start there.'

--World of Tang, Captial city. Before the destruction of the eye--

Towards the northern end of the golden city was several buildings surrounded by a rainbow colored barrier. One of the buildings was actual rainbow in color, instead of golden like the rest.

Inside the build, in one of the rooms, many miniature alters were placed on top of pedestals. Each pedestal was roughly 4 feet in height, and were arranged in straight lines. Around the pedestals was the same rainbow colored barrier.

Standing next to one of the pedestals, a figure in a white lab coat muttered to themselves. "Hmm... this isn't what I expected. I wonder what went wrong? The eye should have absorbed, or at least purified the tainted blood. Oh? These are very strange reactions. Why would the pupil constrict so much?"

The voice was feminine, young, but without the ignorance of youth. Needless to say, the figure is Princess Fang, as no one else performs experiments within the golden city aside from her.

She was exploring the purification abilities some of the cult "gods" had. She wanted to create a new technique from it. This wasn't the first cult god she test. In fact the test was started earlier, and she was just making rounds to see the progress when she noticed the peculiarities.

As she was lost in thought, the eye caught fire spontaneously. The flames were dark red, and the eye was quickly melting. She didn't notice anything until an unbearable heat washed over her. She was shocked to see the eye on fire, and somewhat fearful as the flames melted the rainbow barrier, albeit much slower than the eye.

With that first wave of heat, alarms went off and multiple layers.of the rainbow barrier sprung up around the pedestal. There was hundreds of layers. If one cut the layers in half, they would see that all the layers made the barrier a foot thick.

Within the layered barriers, the eye fully melted, the flame remained. A few moments later the alter melted and transformed into a tower. The flames gathered into a miniture dark red sun, seated on top of the tower.

Eventually the original barrier repaired itself. And since the barrier was no longer melting, the alarm turned off, and the multilayered barrier deactivated.

"Well, this is both good news and bad news. Good that there is a new cult god. Bad that someone or something was able to kill a cult god. Activate containment procedures for CG 0179, level 4." And as soon as Princess Fang finished her words, a multilayered barrier formed around the pedestal. "Better go tell daddy." she mumbled as she walked off.

The palace where Lord Tang resides is described as the center of the center. The origin point if you will. But what most don't know, is the so called palace is nothing more than a normal two bedroom log house. There is no overwhelming aura, no blinding lights, no radiant glow.

Lord Tang had always said, "What use is there to have powerful defenses and use expensive or rare materials when nothing can harm me?". So he built a simple and humble home for himself. It is where he and his wife lived, where his children grew up, and where he reigned over the world.

Most commoners believed that he reigned from a golden palace, on top of a lofty golden throne where he can look down on everyone. But reality is never what one expects. Heck, very few people even remember his origins, only his victories and accomplishments.

Lord Tang was actually the son of a common farmer. But the era he was born in was dominated by the primordial chaos. Vicious beasts ruled the lands, hundreds died daily defending their farms, homes, or villages. It was the era of the jungle. Kill or be killed. It was also the era where gods were born, forgotten, or killed.

He survives beast hordes, the nightly attacks on his family's farm, wars between villages. He grew stronger by the skin of his teeth, and the endless amount of blood he shed. Eventually he had enough, and started his crusade, gathered allies, grew in strength, until he pushed down all the beasts, and gods. He created the utopia that is the era of Tang.

And on a normal day, his first daughter came to him while he was chopping wood. "Daddy, one of the gods died and was replaced."
