[AN: I just want to apologize. I expectes to get this out last Friday (26Jun) But I ran into some writers block after like 300 words. I knew I didn't want to end it there, just couldn't think of how to progress from that point though.]
It has been weeks since Aaron caused chaos at Zhul city. He and Ritz have been on the road towards the capital, and they are still weeks away from reaching any of the surrounding cities.
'Ding!'
'Final Mission. Start a cult or Destroy the Tangs.'
'What the hell? Final mission already? I haven't even done five missions total. System why am I getting the final mission now?'
'Replying to User. The system has determined that enough evil has been injected. It now needs to explode or be redistributed to be further cultivated.'
'Seriously? It was just because of that. How did that even come about? The only thing I did was the thing at Zhul city. What ever. Lets see what I can do with a cult, since destroying the Tangs is impossible.'
'Responding to User: The system will not task a mission deemed impossible for you to complete by higher systems.'
Was this the subsystem hinting at which he should be doing? Or was it just wanting to boost his confidence? Aaron didn't know, but for now he decided to go with the cult approach.
Aaron thought about it, and he couldn't think of any religions that existed here, nor anything from Germal's memories either. So he asked Ritz if she knew of any.
"Honey, do you know if there are an religions? All I can think of is the Tangs, but that isnt really a religion."
Ritz was startled by the question, but gave it some thought. "There are a few that I know of, but I do know that there aren't many. Most are of the earth or suns. I think there is one for the moons as well. Almost all of them believe that they are the bodies of ancient godlike creatures or entities, and for the cases of the earth, they believe that there is a will. But all of those are ran by commoners with no power what so ever, and are generally in the wilderness outside of this continent." she paused for a moment after speaking so much before she continued.
"There is a rumor that the Tangs also have one, its is supposed to be something towards fate and time."
Aaron thought for a moment before asking "Out of curiosity, how did you learn all of this?"
"Oh that, some of the wanders that came through told me." Ritz replied.
As they talked, they came upon a small village. There was only 10 buildings, so there could have been more than 80 people. They decided to stop by and see if they could rest in the town. Aaron was tired of sleeping on the ground.
He may have been apart of a special task force, but he was still from the 21st century. Very rarely would they have to be out this long without an actual bed.
They walked up to the makeshift gate and greeted the guards. "Hello sirs, we would like to spend the night if there is any space available, and of course we will pay for it."
The guards look warily at the duo, one even tightened his grasp on his weapon. The one that appeared to be the leader spoke up. "We'll have to talk to the elder, please stay where you are." He turned and whispered to one, which then ran off into the village.
They didn't have to wait long, but during that time you could see tension build in the rest of the guards. The leader looked more relaxed, but even he eventually was ready to defend against the duo.
The elder was, well an elder, he was a wizened old man, hunched over and walking with a cane. "What brings you two travelers to our humble village?" he asked while looking both of them over.
He couldn't hide the wariness and slight disdain from Aaron. This confused Aaron, why would such a small village be so wary of visitors, and why does the elder view them with disdain. "We wish to take shelter for a night, we're been traveling for a few weeks and only wish to sleep in a bed for a change." he told the elder, trying to sound sincere.
The elder had a look of contemplation before eventually saying "Most of the houses are full, but you can stay at my house for the night. But you mustn't go out once the sun sets. And of course don't cause any trouble with the villagers." with a smile.
Aaron just gave a slight bow and his thanks. "If there is nothing else, follow me. Good work Ajin. The elder said before turning to the guard leader who just bowed to the elder.
The elder turned around and started to walk off with Aaron and Ritz in tow.
