Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Darkness. That was the only thing that the human eye could see. This specific color was said to be the root of all evil. Demons, monsters, vampires... you name it. Many people feared the obscurity, not daring to venture deep within it to find what is hiding beneath it all.

If you actually dared to take the risk, then there are many things that would be waiting for you. Strangely, at first, this darkness surrounds you with a freezing cold atmosphere that gradually begins to turn warmer and warmer. Once you begin to get used to the dimness, you don't want to leave it. It becomes an escape for many people, a bad escape.

This escape brings comfort and temporary happiness to everyone. However, once they face the consequences, all happiness is replaced by anger and sadness. This causes the person to commit worse things in order to find joy once more, eventually worsening their situation.

Despite this, many are still able to find true happiness in this industry. The darkness, gloominess, and dimness becomes their light and path. No one is able to take their right to follow the path that they have chosen.

This is, of course, completely describes a certain someone's father. He was banished to a faraway world, but the seal holding him back is weakening. The shadows that once took over the world will rise once more to devour every living being.

A wicked grin made its way to his face as he kept staring at a certain bubble. This bubble was displaying visions of the earth realm.

"My lord, it's time for dessert," a beautiful woman with pale skin and long, luscious hair said as she stepped in front of him, disrupting his view.

The woman began to sensually remove her clothing as she exhibited all of her curves. The dark man smirked as his hand touched her in inappropriate places, making her moan softly.

"The old man is already gathering the students. When the right time comes, we'll attack."

His dark thoughts grew even more sinister as he began to grow more rough on the woman. She, however, enjoyed this as her moans grew louder with each passing second as her pale cheeks flushed.

"He's playing right into my trap. Those kids… they'll become mine soon…"

All of Assana's things were packed up and ready to go. Amos had only given Ahe and her two days to pack up and she believed that it was because he didn't want them to regret their decision.

When she took the piece of paper from Joash's hands, she knew that her life wouldn't be the same. She also knew that she wouldn't back down from this decision since it will help her grow immensely as a person.

"Are you ready?" asked Assana as she spoke into the phone.

"Yeah, and I'm extremely nervous. This is the right thing to do, right?"

Assana comforted Ahe with a few short words before hanging up, feeling a little bit queasy herself. Was this the right choice?

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter now. She had already signed the paper alongside her mother and it was too late to back out now. Besides, she will have Ahe by her side and they will support each other on this great journey that is waiting for them. All they need to do is get out of the door and say goodbye to her parents.

Letting out a shaky breath, Assana gathered her things and took them to the living room. Her mother was waiting there for her with a sad smile plastered on her face.

"I'm proud of you," she whispered as she gently kissed her daughter's forehead, tears threatening to fall down her face. Assana, on the other hand, just smiled. There was no sadness hidden deep within her eyes, only joy. Finally, she will be able to fully take control of her life.

Looking into Sienna's eyes, Assana embraced her tightly. "I know. Please, don't forget to take care of yourself."

Nodding, her mother let her go as a few tears slid down her cheeks. Sienna wasn't able to say something else to her daughter. Her throat hurt from all of the tears that wanted to desperately escape her eyes and run freely. Unfortunately, she can't reveal these feelings to her daughter. She didn't want her to think that her decision was causing her to hurt, even if it was the truth.

Sienna will just suck it up as she watches Assana leave her home with a look of enthusiasm.

"My daughter, you have grown strong. Let the gods guide you on a safe journey as you travel on the road called life," she whispered into the wind as Assana walked forward. She was walking towards the direction of Ahe's house, wanting to experience this bittersweet moment together with him.

Ahe's mother had taken time off work to send her little boy off. She frowned as she saw him walk down the stairs.

He has matured so much and she wasn't able to see him grow into the young man he is today. Who is the person that made him gather so much courage?

He wore a big smile on his face, trying to forget about how frightened he was about the sudden change in his life. His heart was full of worries, and seeing his mother's frown definitely didn't make him feel any better.

Ahe stopped right in front of his mother and forced out a smile. He doesn't feel comfortable around his mother because of her long absence in his life. Despite this, he knew that she worked hard for him, but he still wished to have spent more time with her.

"It's time for me to go. Assana might be waiting for me," Ahe said to his mother and nodded before walking away. However, before he could get far, she grabbed his hand and hugged him tightly.

"I'm so sorry for not being able to watch you grow or be there you needed me," she wailed as her slightly chubby yet beautiful figure shook violently. A few, silent tears escaped his eyes as he rubbed his mother's back.

"It's okay. When I come back, you'll make it up for me."

He shook off his mother's arms and turned around, walking outside. Assana was already waiting for him, making him smile warmly and run up to her.

They began walking in a specific direction. Amos had told them that he will hire a person to drive them to their new school. Seeing the car in the distance, they began running while holding all of their belongings, feeling extremely motivated and expecting what's to come.

Ahe's mother was watching how her child disappeared from her view as she dried up her tears.

"I'll fulfill your wish when you come back, Ahe. I promise."
