Audrey walked with her earphones on. She made sure to bring them today just in case a storm might set in again. She shuffled her playlist so she wouldn't be able to predict what the next song would be. When she heard 'Heartache' by One OK Rock had begun playing, it reminded her of Aiden.
She headed towards their building when she suddenly received a phone call. She wonders why Kylie would be calling her. When she answered her phone, she saw surprised with a very lively greeting.
"OMG Audrey!!"
"What's with the very enthusiastic greeting?"
"Are you at school now?"
"Yes. I'm actually heading towards our building."
"No. Stop! Don't go to the front! Use the fire exit!"
"Huh? What? You know that we're not allowed to use the fire exit if there are no emergencies." She asked as she halted from walking.
"This is an emergency! Mike is currently waiting in front of our building!"
"Did you tell that we are classmates?!"
"I didn't. I won't betray you! I don't know who did but his stalker skills must have led him here."
Audrey hid behind the nearby tree and peeked to see where Mike is. Her eyes widened when she saw him waiting at the lobby of their building. She sighed and said, "OMG Kylie! This is bad. He is blocking the stairs!"
"I know! Now, here's the plan. I'll approach him and distract him so that he won't see you coming towards the fire exit at the back. When you have the chance go and run upstairs like crazy and hide somewhere inside our classroom."
"Good idea. Game on!"
The instant she saw Kylie talking with Mike, she swiftly went to the fire exit and rushed upstairs like she's being chased by mad man. When she reached their floor, she sprinted out towards their classroom as planned but when she's about to enter the room she bumped on to something making her fall off the ground.
"I'm really sorry. I wasn't looking." She apologized as she touched her forehead. She felt like she hit a stone wall and not a person. She was really focused on running that she was so surprised to see that someone was in front of her already.
"You really are so clumsy."
"A-aiden?!"
"Good morning Audrey." He said with a sweet smile.
His sparkling smile almost made Audrey forget that she needed to stand up before even staring at how beautiful Aiden's smile can be as a morning greeting.
"Y-yeah. Good morning."
"Here. Let me help you." He said as he gave her a hand to stand up.
"Thank you."
She was about to take his hand when she suddenly heard Kylie and Mike talking.
"I'm telling you Mike this is not Audrey's building." Kylie said hoping that he would leave now.
"Okay. Then I'll just go and stroll for a bit since it's still early in the morning." He insisted as they continued on walking.
"There really is nothing to see upstairs and besides don't you think it's going to rain soon? Your building is far from here so perhaps you should go now?"
"Nah it's fine. I can run."
"If Louie see us together, he might misunderstand so can you please go now?" She said hoping that it will convince him.
"You're not my type."
"Well so are you. You're not my type! Now please can you just go Mike?"
Audrey looked at the stairs and saw them about to reach their floor. She froze for a moment not knowing what to do in panic.
Aiden heard the name 'Mike' and he knows exactly who Mike is especially when he saw how Audrey reacted right now. Somehow it made him feel a little possessive. He took Audrey's hand and abruptly pulled her towards him. He then wraps an arm around her waist as he gently touched her cheek with his left hand.
Instead of being bothered that Mike is just a few steps away from her, her attention was immediately captured by the man in front of her. The way he held her there as if it's just the two of them took all of her worries away again.
When she looked at him and met his eyes she was surprised to see how serious he is looking at her right now. This is expression of him is something new to her. His seriousness is even so contagious that made her look at him at the same way.
"You." He said almost whispering.
Though it's just one word, the way he said it make Audrey feel like she might lose her balance at any moment. It's sounded almost too seductive to her that she even blushed a little. She couldn't reply a word for she's was too engrossed under his spell right now.
"Audrey, when you're with me I want you to only look at me. Only me, understand?"
There he goes again, saying words that gives Audrey heart fluctuations. She even thought that she might soon have a heart attack be because he often attacks her with such without warning. It feels good and not at the same time.
It feels good because it sounded too good for her ears alone. And not because she knew that he must be teasing her again. If that's the case then she decided to counterattack him then.
"Jealous?"
"How many times do I need to tell you that I can very possessive? Are you going to do as I say or do you really wanted to get punished?"
"How do you want to punish me then?"
"Well…it goes something like this…" He said as he gently put a finger on to Audrey's lips feeling how soft it is.
Audrey didn't know how to react about he said and did. So, when his face came close, she thought that he's going to kiss her. But what happened surprised her more.
Aiden kissed his finger as if it served as a barrier for the both of them. When he looked at where Mike was standing, he was gone already. So, when he gazed back at Audrey, he saw another expression of her that he hasn't seen before. He can't help not to give a faint smile embarrassing her more.
