Chapter 53 - Mischief’s Halo

Not everything in life will go according to plan. Most of the time when you thought that you're almost at the end of the ocean, you'll realize that you're rather getting lost instead.

The vast sea may look beautiful but when you look down from the shallow waters you might not notice that you're already being swarmed by beasts ready to attack you anytime.

The only way to know what's waiting for you down without going in the waters is to look from above. But how are you going to do it when you're preoccupied not getting drowned instead?

He probably is an angel but a devil at the same time. He's always there whenever she needed him. But when she does, he shaken up her heart all the time like some typhoon trying to blow her away.

Audrey was still speechless about what happened. It all happened in such a bliss. He indeed had helped her avoid Mike but all his acting makes her want to believe that what he says is true.

When classes started, she put all her frustrations on taking notes, lots of notes. She was rather on fire for she was able to answer questions that were being asked by their teacher from time to time.

She thought that she might just went to the school cafeteria together with Kylie to grab a slice of cake in order to take her worries away but she's wrong.

"You're Audrey, right?" Angela asked as she stood besides her table as if waiting for her.

"Yes?" She doesn't like the sound of it. Being approached by her all of a sudden makes her think that something is not right.

"Great, can I talk to you for a couple of minutes? It won't take too long I promise." She said with a beaming smile.

That smile looked a little suspicious but she agreed to go with her anyway and told Kylie to wait for her at the cafeteria and reserve her a seat.

Angela really looked like a real-life angel. Her complexion is porcelain like which looked like it's glowing. Her long hair looked very soft and well managed. Her baby face is well point for she looks really innocent and sweet.

They ended up going at an empty classroom. And there Audrey heard something that she expected to hear from her.

"I'll make it short." Angela said as she turned around and gave her a very reassuring expression and added, "I like Aiden, a lot. So please keep your distance away from him."

"You're very straightforward." She replied sarcastically as she appears to be not threatened by her.

"I am. Now, stop lingering around him like a leech and be good."

Audrey let a small laugh out for she never expected to be called a leech by her. Angela looked intimidated though.

So she said, "I don't have the need to obey you. And besides I'm no leech, 'jellyfish'. Weren't you the one acting like one a few days ago? I saw how you cling on to him but it seems that he dislikes it, very much."

"You biatch!" She screamed as she fisted her hand trying to contemplate her irritation towards Audrey.

"Look, if you're trying to intimidate me it's not working. I won't stop hanging out with him just because you want me to."

"I'm trying to ask nicely. I don't want things to turn ugly!" She said almost screaming for she's starting to feel defeat.

"I never thought that asking nicely is something like that. I'll take note of it."

"I background checked you, Audrey Gray. I know who you are and if you're thinking that you can compete to him you're mistaken."

"Aiden is not just some prize to be won from a silly game. I don't need to compete."

"So, you're already admitting your defeat now then? That's great because I..."

Before Angela could even finish her sentence, Audrey said abruptly with such jurisdiction, "He belongs to me." She then gave her a very deep unfriendly stare that looks like it'll pierce through anyone.

"That can't be. If you think that you can make me give up on him with your empty words, you're waiting for nothing! He's just playing games with you. You're just his toy. He can't like someone who is as plain as you."

"Good luck with that. Your research tells me that you're incorrect. This plain looking girl here just wrapped him around my finger."

"You Witch! I won't let you go that easily!"

"We'll see about that."

Audrey left the room and heard an angry scream afterwards. She knew that choosing this path towards him is not easy that this battle had only started.

Before Angela had asked her to, talk to she already had prepared herself against people that would use such scare tactics on her.

Honestly, she just said those words half meant because she doesn't even know how Aiden feels about her and now, she declared that he belonged to her.

Thinking about it again, she ran towards the cafeteria to look for Kylie. She didn't want to be mean towards Angela but she started it first so it really did turn out to be a little ugly.

"Audrey bee what's the rush? Don't worry I already bought your favorite..." Before Kylie finished her sentence, she was surprised of what Audrey said.

"I messed up!" She said as she sat besides Kylie and took a quick sip at her favorite lemonade.

"Spill the beans."

"She liked Aiden and wanted me stop hanging around with him."

"You said no right?"

"Of course, I did! But I said something unnecessary just to make her back off but I believe I only provoked her."

Kylie stared at her as she took a bite at her chicken sandwich waiting for what Audrey's going to say next.

Audrey then nervously said, "I told her that he belonged to me."

Before Kylie could even react and express how unexpected of Audrey to say that, they were both surprised by the appearance of a certain someone.

"Who belonged to who?" It's Aiden.
