Refusing to admit the truth is refusal of accepting what reality is telling you. And most of the time reality is a little bit harsh than what you expect it to be.
Be it white lie or not, a lie is still a lie. But still it depends on how you used that lie for. It may be to cover up another lie for the better or covering it up for another mistake.
His strong presence on her really is breath-taking. And it's not just that. Looking at him specially in the eye imprisons you for a moment making you realize that it really is too late to back out.
"Who belongs to who?" Aiden asked as he sat at the empty seat in front of Audrey as he placed a box of pizza at the table.
"Oh, that was..." Audrey nervously averted her eyes at a different direction as she thinks of an excuse.
"I thought I heard you say, "He belongs to me" or something like that."
"O-h err...you misheard it!" She denied as she opened the box of pizza and asked, "Anyways! You bought this for us to eat right?"
"Yeah."
Kylie shook her head of disagreement as she put a hand on her forehead in defeat and said, "You are such a foodie." She told her food lover best friend. She looked helplessly at Aiden as if giving him a lesson and said, "Next time Aiden don't just immediately put food on the table. Lure her first by using it."
"I'll take note of that." He replied as he looked at how Audrey brightened up her expression with a cute smile as she opened the box.
Simple expressions of Audrey just as this warms Aiden's heart making him want to give her more. It made him feel really happy already just by looking at her smile like this.
Audrey started munching down her pizza and she seemed to enjoy it a lot and said, "Thanks Aiden. This is delicious have some."
She took a slice and aimed it at him as if telling him to take a bite which he did. When she saw his delighted reaction she then asked, "What do you think?"
"It's...good." He shyly replied as he averted his gaze away from her direction as he tries to hide his embarrassment away.
Kylie on the other hand is grinning hard just by looking at the two love birds. Audrey noticed it and looked at her and asked suspiciously, "What's with that smile?"
"Hmm? Nothing. I just thought that the two of you looked good together."
Audrey blushed and so does Aiden. Aiden took the pizza away from Audrey's hand and ate it down instead.
"It's not like that!" Audrey panicked as if being caught on the act of doing something improper.
"Yeah. You tell that to someone else. Someone seemed to be not happy though." She then mustered whispering, "At your 9 o'clock."
When she looked at who Kylie if referring to, it was none other than Angela herself. As expected, who else would give her such a death stare aside from Aiden's Bees.
Looking at her from a distance, she honestly looked pretty unsophisticated and gullible. Audrey really thought that she could just befriend her but she guessed wrong, obviously wrong.
She's surrounded by lots of friends already which only proves that she's a nice person. Maybe they just both got off on the wrong side of the road then.
Aiden knew that something is bothering her. She's really not good at denying things and he knows that she may be hiding something from him. She somehow looked like she was preoccupied by something.
He then decided to distract her and get her attention instead.
"Audrey, bite this but don't chew." He said as he put a stick of Pocky inside Audrey's mouth.
"What is this for?" She asked looking back at him as she remained biting the cookie stick wondering what's going on.
"Don't move."
Audrey obediently followed him and just looked at him. His stare at her is serious though. Whenever he gave her such looks, she can't help not to get caught by him.
Aiden moved his face closer to hers and enticingly bit the Pocky leaving only an inch remaining.
Audrey's heart almost stopped once again. Her eyes widened with surprise when Aiden unexpectedly bit the cookie. She almost thought that they're about to kiss for there's such a small distance remaining. And not just that! The stare that he gave him was very sexy that it's like he's inviting her.
He saw her interesting expression and decided to give her a sweet smile as he eats down the Pocky that he took for from her.
In a state of unbelief, Audrey ate the remaining cookie herself not knowing what to do. She knew that she's blushing so she hid her face behind her hand and said, "What was that??"
"You looked really serious earlier while getting engrossed by something and I hate it."
His piercing eyes went through to her as if he's chanting a spell. She somehow felt his possessiveness stir upon her.
He looked at the table in front of him and was provoked to touch her hand that seemed to be just waiting for him to touch.
Slowly he reached out to touch her hand cautious if she will retaliate or not but she didn't.
When the tip of their fingers touched, both felt an electricity passing through their skin. There was something only the both of them can explain but was both afraid to admit what it really is.
Audrey moved her finger a little telling him that it's okay. But when he completely got to held her hand, she somehow felt afraid and started questioning herself with thoughts that started to be unclear to her.
What if she's really just his toy and is just bored? She usually doesn't give in to such thoughts but she's somehow feeling terrified for she's starting to fall for him more and more.
He held her hand and caressed it gently like some fragile treasure. He noticed how little and soft her hands are.
He'd been wanting to touch them for a while now somehow it terrifies him. He felt really possessive right now and want to just keep her to himself only but he won't. That's kind of love is not proper.
He then slowly lifted her hand and kiss the back of it and asked, "Can I keep you all to myself?"
