She really doesn't have that much energy to fool around right now. In fact, she really was seriously exhausted from all the walking and a little running that she did earlier.
Never did it cross her mind that a day might come where she would want to just sleep immediately from all the tiresome activity she did. She never felt this tired in her entire life.
She meant what she really said though. She is indeed jealous and she's certain that it's what she feels. It is not betrayal that she is feeling towards Aiden. What she felt is more complex than what she thought jealousy is.
"What do we have here? This cute little panda is jealous." Aiden gave a sweet beaming smile towards the worried looking Audrey as he pets her head.
"It's a natural response! I mean we used to talk like all the time at school and even meets up at the library before. Well I understand everything that is going on though. It's just inevitable."
Aiden let a small faint laugh for he can't help not to be surprised with how defensive she is. Though Audrey is like an open book most of the time, he can't help not to be surprised with the sudden attacks she gives from time to time.
A little aggravated thinking that he's seriously belittling her she repeated what she said earlier "I told you already. I don't have the spare energy left in me to accept all of your mockery."
Nervous, Aiden realized that he must have went too far with his unintended teasing. "Sorry. I was just taken by surprise with what you just said."
"Just forget what I said." She said sulking as she took a pillow a hugged it.
"It's not like that. I was really touched that's all."
"Leave me alone. I'm currently sulking can't you see?" She held her pillow tight as she steers away completely as she tried ignoring him.
"Do you really want me to leave?"
Audrey remained silent.
Aiden then stood up and reached his hand towards the door knob and was about to leave but then what he wanted to happen had indeed happen.
He felt Audrey's hand touch and crumpled the back of his shirt stopping him. There he felt the assurance that he sought for. He smiled knowing that he isn't mistaken but it is somehow making him feel a little insecure all of a sudden for Audrey is starting to be a little straightforward towards him.
"Don't go."
"Here." He sat beside her again and carefully leaned her head over his shoulder and said, "Since you don't want me to leave yet, be honored that I'm letting you use me as a pillow."
Audrey accepted his offer and leaned besides him. Somehow, it feels really good. His scent, his warmth, his presence, it's all very calming. The way he pets her head feels very reassuring too.
"You're making me feel really sleepy."
"Sleep for a while now."
"Are you not going to ask me why did I get lost earlier?"
"You have poor navigation skills."
"That's harsh but it's true."
"See. Now sleep before you hear things that might disappoint you."
She yawned and said, "You're teasing me again."
"You saw through me." He smiled.
"Aiden..."
"Hmm?"
"Thank you. You made me feel that I'm special."
"You really are special to me."
"You are getting my hopes high."
"From what?"
"Nothing. Let me sleep for a while I'm really worn out."
"Sweet dreams panda."
Audrey quickly fell asleep. Aiden on the other hand was surprised by how heavy Audrey is when she's asleep. She's like a persocon from the anime Chobits that is really heavy when the battery had been depleted.
Now that she's fast asleep, he looked at her and saw how beautiful her sleeping face is. She looks defenseless that somehow a part of his mind is telling him to take this opportunity and do something to her but no.
He actually really missed her and having her in this way is so heart warming for him. She looks so peaceful though. He hopes that she's having a good dream.
As good as it gets, he received a message from Pierre. He opened it and read that Angela decided to go home for the day.
"Hey bro! I already sent Angela home because she said that she had enough shopping for the day."
"That's good to hear." He replied.
"BTW, have you called Audrey?"
He wondered what he meant so he asked, "What for?"
"Ow, perhaps she didn't tell you. I thought you two were close. I guess not."
"Wait, what is this about?"
"I met her earlier and was about to tell you but you lashed out before I could say anything else."
"Just tell me what you got."
"She said she got lost."
"I already know that."
"Oh good. You two are close then. How did she get stalked anyway?"
"Wait. WHAT? What do you mean by "stalked"?
Aiden took a quick glance at the peacefully sleeping Audrey besides him and started to get the feeling that something bad really had happened to her.
The moment he received Pierre's reply he immediately looked at his phone. It says, "She was stalked earlier that's why she got lost trying to get rid of him."
"Did she say what her stalker looks like?"
"Not exactly. All she said is that she saw a very suspicious man who is about 5'6 tall and a bit chubby. She couldn't see his face at all because he was wearing a cap and a hoodie."
He closed his phone and returned it to his pocket. He looked at Audrey once again as he gently touches her cheeks with his thumb. But it woke her up.
"Ngh, is dinner ready?"
He cracks a smile and said, "You're such a foodie." He poked her nose.
He's relieved for it seems that she is not that distressed with what just happened to her. He figured out that she didn't want to worry the people around her more that's why she didn't say what completely had occurred.
"I'm hungry." She said looking at him like she was about to him.
"I'm not a delicious meal. So, don't look at me with such stare."
Audrey came to a decision that she should retaliate with all the teasing that he gave her earlier and do something offensive now that she took a quick nap and feels a little energized.
She forcefully pushed Aiden towards the bed and immediately went on top bewildering him.
"A-audrey?" He said stammering.
"Shh." She said as she placed her finger on top of his lips telling him to hush down. "If you are too loud, we might attract some attention."
Aiden can easily get embarrassed at times. And being in a situation like this is somehow testing his restraining level for he doesn't know if Audrey is just getting back at him or what.
"H-hey?"
"If you say a word…" She slowly traced her finger from his lips down to his neck tickling him and added, "I'm going to make you regret for talking back at me."
Audrey thought that she's ahead of her game but was startled when a sudden knock at a door and a voice made her realize what she really is doing.
