Chapter 26 - The Lord

Before doing anything to find out what is Zero made of they went to the Lord. Nefertiri needed to see the old man and talk with him. When they were already there all the Elves were looking weirdly at Nefertiri. Their eyes were filled with fear. Why would they fear this beautiful lady. He looked at his soul mate thinking heavily what could happen that they feared her this much. Zidite could always ask her this question but he didn't want to do it here. It would be better to be just the two of them. He followed after her observing everything around them. It could be said that they were before a huge mansion that got many courtyards. The most important one was in the middle as you could tell by the look of it. The biggest house was for people who didn't have the possibility or want to live alone on their own in their own homes. The sun was saying the last goodbyes changing places with the moon. Everything looked like it was from some fairytale. There were just light colored buildings and many flowers here and there and they even covered some parts of the buildings. When we got to the house we were going to Nefertiri looked weirdly at the door.

"Guys this here isn't really his home it's just some place where he gets to meet his folks to solve their problems. It's going to be weird at first. Zero I want you to wait here with Misha."

When she went in with Zidite he wasn't surprised because the Lord wasn't that much different than in his tribe.

"Old man I'm back!" The Lord looked at the young woman and smiled.

"Why do you always call me that?! Couldn't you just say grandpa?"

"Mmm grandpa I'm back."

"Ha!" He slapped his leg. "That's much better my child come here." He pated the place beside him that was supposed to be for his mate. Nefertiri just went with the current and sat there like an obedient child seeing nothing wrong with it. Zidite didn't really like this but he didn't really know the situation so he wasn't going to get jealous because of something like this right.

"Grandfather. The elves from the other tribe colluded with the humans. They helped them with the experiments and funded it."

The Lord didn't look surprised but he still showed a mad expression. Not every tribe could have a priestesses coming right from the gods to revive the old teachings.

"I'm going to contact them. If there's the need you should train the priestesses."

"I understand grandfather."

"Good."

"I rescued one of the experiments. He's a nice man named Zero. We didn't really know his name so he went with this."

"Mmm you did good. I want to see him."

The Lord was wearing a sad expression, he couldn't watch young people that just start their life suffering. Wasn't that sad. He lived through centuries protecting his people, maybe too much. He still wanted the children to live happily. Nefertiri gave the signal to Zidite and he went to fetch the boys. When they came in the Lord was looking with interest at the young green man.

"Come closer my child. Let me take a look at you." He couldn't stop this fraternal feeling overcoming him when he saw the green man. He sensed that this person was special. "Don't be afraid. Come closer."

Zero didn't wait just did what was told. He kneeled in front of the Lord not looking him in the eyes. He was intimidated. This person looked like he was in his late thirties and called him a child wasn't that weird.

"Tell me, do you remember what happened to you?"

"I know that I was being a part of an experiment but I don't know who I was before. In all honesty I don't remember much."

"Can you tell me if there were many like you?"

"I don't know. If there were I didn't see anyone. I had a room for myself but mort Of the time I was sedated or even blind so I couldn't see a thing happening around me."

"You suffered." The Lord touched Zeros head and instantly knew why he was interested in him. This is supposed to be the most important person in his life. "This is fate."
