Heretic Inquisitors
"In this age of harrowing darkness, what sort of miracle can these small sparks of hope achieve? Will they reach eventually catch fire and set the entire dark forest ablaze, or will they get engulfed by the very darkness itself, until they fade into oblivion?"
Combat, fights, battles, until eventually he had learnt to slaughter. Adam has only known of these things ever since he was aware of the things happening around him, and this is something he is fine with, after all, he is one of the blessed ones chosen to guide humanity into its path away from this eternally tormenting fate of being but a mere food for beings of uncomprehensible origin to them.
Hence him, along with other chosen young men and women, chose to take their weapon and bring themselves to the frontmost of the battlefields, hoping that even in the overwhelming dark, they can be a beacon of hope that drives the impending despair away.
With their chances of winning against these insurmountable odds becoming lower and lower as time goes by, how can they prevent themselves from becoming part of the very darkness that they fight against, and especially how can he, who doesn't even know a single thing about his past fight against the temptation their enemies are hanging just right above their heads?

[While the title does sound like something from 40k, and I do love the entire WH universe, this is in no way something similar well, perhaps just the grimdark feel to it]
