Chapter 27 - Nightmares

The Lord smiled softly a melancholic feeling creeping inside of him. His heart ached thinking about the horrible things that his soul mate has had been trough. He didn't conserve his youthful look because he didn't need it. There wasn't someone to impress with his long silky white hair and soft skin without any blemishes. He touched Zeros head having plans to see what he went through if he says yes. His really short hair felt weird to the touch comparing it to his own long hair.

"I want to unlock those memories." The Lord started slowly. He didn't really know what to say. This matter is really delicate. He wanted to know he needed it so he can determinate how much of a beating was needed for the other tribe.

"If you can do that it's fine. I think I should be able to handle it." He wasn't so sure but it was better to know this now not later so it could destroy something in the future.

The Lord just smiled sadly at him and did the only thing he could think of. He chanted slowly not too loud for everyone to hear but it could be clearly seen how his green skin color was fading to his nails to stay there. His skin turned to be a creamy white that called for his touch and so he did. The Lord was done in no time touching Zeros neck making skin to skin contact that sent tingles across their skin.

"Love birds I can't stay here for the whole night so be quick alright?" Nefertiri wanted this whole thing to be done and go home.

She watched from the start as the realization that Zero was the Lords mate hit the old man in the face. When he was slowly closing his eyes to get to the memories he rested his forehead on Zeros and they were both immersed in the painful memories that were somewhere hidden from them and even the beholder.

Nefertiri chanted in the mean time not wanting to pry but it was really hard not to try and see some of the memories but first she wanted to give the old man a surprise. Of course he could to it himself but it wouldn't be as good as if she would have done it. So the ancient words were just coming out of her mouth like it was meant to be. Misha looked at the Lord weirded out but then he noticed that Nefertiri was murmuring something under her breath.

The Lords skin started to smooth itself as if he was getting younger maybe not with his soul but his looks. Because how could a young man be with a really old one if he's all wrinkled. She smiled to herself thinking that this was really fate. Her only family left even if they didn't share blood it was still important to her that he could find his happiness. This grandfather cared for her since he knew that she could take over his role as the Lord at the young age when she awakened. He didn't fear her but wanted to support her in any way possible so she wished all the best for him.

When she was satisfied seeing that the Lord looked even younger than Zero she stopped chanting ending it nicely so it doesn't reverse. It was as if she took him back in time. She could do what she wished the most right now. She opened her mind to make contact with them dragging everyone in the room in it. To say that she wasn't sad because of what she saw it would be weird but she was sad and scared. This was just heartless. How could someone a human treat others from their kind this way. That was hell and everyone in the room knew it. Those were just monsters that shouldn't leave the nightmares but somehow they did. They were real as it could get and existed right here in their world.

After there wasn't anything more to see they heard Zero crying. It was a heartbreaking sound to all of them. Nefertiri felt her eyes get moist but she didn't really understand this. She never cried after her grandmothers death. This feeling forgotten like an old memory that was there still faintly making known it was still there. Zidite didn't wait for her tears to spill he closed her eyes and kissed them making her feel already better and ready to face head on this weird situation. The Lord was sitting on the floor trying to soothe Zero. He was hugging him tightly whispering sweet nothings in his ear. Nefertiri embraced Zidite wanting to feel that he was there with her. It was really good to have someone with her and it was a good feeling if your other half was depending on you. Feelings like trust into each other was the best thing ever to happen because after the trust came there was mutual understanding without words. A silent communication could be hold and be something really beautiful.

"Grandpa, do you want us to go home for today? I think it would be good if the both of you talk with each other and resolve this whatever it is."

"My good child go home and rest. It would be good if you could come to visit us tomorrow evening."

"Mmm I'm going back home and I'll be back tomorrow to see you both."

There were many things that she wanted to see happen but sometimes it was impossible.
