Angel groaned and turned over the map once more, they had gotten lost on the path and she was having trouble figuring out where they even were. Finn was being no help at all, in fact, he was actively ignoring her, she assumed it was because he was still embarrassed about the kiss and his abrupt transformation. She wished he would just get over it already. Slowly as she turned the map over again more and more, her frustration grew.
"Okay, I am done, you can figure out where we are." She threw the map at Finn and walked away angrily. For the first time that day, he glanced up at her, but she was already disappearing through the trees.
Angel mumbled to herself and sat down heavily under a tree, the ground was wet from the early morning dew in the grass, and it instantly soaked through her skirt. She stood up in surprise, she balled her hands into fists and stared into the sky. "Why does this always happen to me?" She shouted, but was cut short by the thumping of heavy footsteps, a man walked into the clearing. He had short, blonde hair and steely blue eyes, he stared at Angel intensely.
"Hello, Angel" he smiled, but to Angel, it looked more like the baring of teeth than a friendly gesture. She backed away, something about this man gave her a terrible feeling in her stomach and the urge to turn and flee.
"How do you know my name?" She said, watching him. The man laughed and smiled once more, taking a step closer to where Angel was standing.
"I know all the names of my subjects, you are no exception, my lovely bird." He stepped even closer, leaves and branches crunching under his military issue boots. "I will not lie, I do not like that boy you are traveling with, but when I get my way, my dove, I shall exterminate him." The aggressive tone in his voice scared Angel, she searched around her for a way to escape the situation.
The man shook his head at her, "there is no leaving, Angel, just relax, well it is okay, you will be soon anyway." He lunged towards her, Angel tried to turn away and run but he had a tight grip on her arm, he yanked her arm backward. Angel cried out in pain and fell to the ground, then she felt a sharp pain in her arm. She stared up at the man to see he had an empty needle in his hand. "It is okay, you relax now, shhh." He rubbed her arm, the last thing Angel heard before her vision blurred and she fell unconscious was a scream nearby, that sounded a lot like Finn.
