Chereads / The RavenHill Vampires / Chapter 31 - Trapped.

Chapter 31 - Trapped.

"Hello, Angel." His voice rumbled across the hall, Angel felt her spine shiver at the sound of it. She knew that this was very bad. She could tell by his build that this beast was a man, he had a mask made of bone on his face, she was sure it was a deer skull. She could see his eyes through the worn eye holes in the mask, they were dark and cold and staring straight at her. Feathers blended in a mane around his chest until they gradually faded into fur and more bone. He looked like a monstrosity made of dead animal skins, stitched together with bits and scraps run over by cars. He was not the calibre of creature Angel was, but something far worse, something made rather than inherited.

She moved back, she knew she could not let him get near her. His bones cracked and moaned as he moved closer to her, taking his sweet time to reach her as if she was already caught.

"You are so beautiful, I had been told of your beauty by Captain Rainer, but I could hardly believe you would be such a fine specimen." His tone was one of amusement, but it carried a sinister undercurrent. He was fast, quicker than she could track, before she could even blink he was backing her up against a wall. A long bony claw reached out and dug under her chin, pulling her face up. "Such perfect eyes..." Angel winced, his voice sounded so scratchy, like a thousand animals roaring and screaming dulled into one blend. She swallowed, he traced the movement with his claw. She thought about what he had said before, 'Captain Rainer?' She realized this must've been the man who had...bathed her. She grimaced, then remembered exactly what situation she was in.

Turning her attention back to the monster in front of her, she noticed he seemed to be watching her intensely. "There is no escape, so I hope you are not trying to because I have many who would be interested in those wings...hanging from a mantle or in a glass case." He smirked. Angel's face must've been one of horror, because he threw his face back and laughed, her ears almost bled from the sound, it was worse than death itself.
