A dream, she was flying. The sun was warm on her legs, the clouds passing overhead, nothing could be better.
"Urgh." She snapped her eyes open, realizing that in fact, it wasn't a dream, she was in the air and the sun was starting to get prickly on her skin. Then she remembered all the events from before when Finn had told her he was a...wait, where was Finn? she thought. Then she looked up and screamed.
He stared down at her in surprise, "Oh you're awake," his voice was gravelly and deep.
But Angel wasn't paying attention to his voice, she was staring at his face, it was something of a horror. His eyes were red, like pits of lava, his hair was blacker than ash and his ears were long and pointed. He had a squished nose, rather like a...bat.
Her eyes went wide and she froze, so he really wasn't kidding? She couldn't breathe, just as her eyes fluttered shut, Finn shook her violently.
"Hey, no fainting this time, come on, wake up."
She shifted in his grip, dazed and unbelieving of what was happening.
"why is your face ugly," she whispered.
Finn frowned "well, that's not very nice, I wouldn't say it's ugly, I guess you don't like bats very much do you."
She couldn't answer, her voice was stuck in her throat, she felt as if she were in some bizarre horror movie.
Finn looked back up at the sky "you've been asleep for some time," he said.
Angel blinked slowly at him "where are we going?" she said
Finn grinned at that "well, while you were asleep the shadowling's came back."
