It was the end of the week, Saturday. Today, we were going to do it. Before we started though, everyone in the school woke up to a loud siren, followed by an announcement, "All first years, report to the arena. Repeat, all first years, report to the arena." Scorpio and Jamie barely managed to sit up, while Brit was already dressed and ready to go. Me, well, I was standing. That's it. After a few minutes of trying to wake up, I managed to make it to the door with everyone else, and walk to the auditorium.
When we got there, there was a huge pile of crates in the middle, standing in front of it was Professor Chasan, a group of teachers, and some security guards of some kind. "I apologize for waking you all up so early," he started, "we didn't expect this shipment to come until Sunday, but here we are, I guess." He held up a clipboard, and started calling off names. Each person who walked down was given a box and a piece of paper. Naomi looked at the pile of crates in awe "What do you think it is?" We all looked at her. "What?! I mean, I know it's weapons, but what if it's something different?" I sighed, "What else would it be?" She shrugged, "Something cool, duh. Even so, it's a good thing we're getting our weapons today. That'll make things a lot easier." Scorpio and I nodded. "JAMIE CHARLESTON!" Jamie got up, "Well, time to test Naomi's theory." She walked down, grabbed a box from Chasan, and walked back up. "Well, what is it?" She opened it. It was a sniper rifle that had to be around the length of her leg, engraved on the side were the words "Heavenly Crossfire".
I just had to be gifted with the last name Walker. After around an hour, I finally was called. I went down, and got a box from Chasan, "Mr. Walker," I turned around, Chasan motioned for me to go to him, "Brit told me about your little, scheme. I'm giving you permission tonight, but simple because I cannot stand those hooligans. Understood?" I nodded, "Of course." I walked back up the bleachers, Naomi pushed in front of everyone "Well, can we see it?" I shook my head, "Imma wait until we get to the dorm hall. If it's exactly how I specified, it's gonna be a sight to behold."
I mad a terrible lapse in judgement. Carrying a heavy box 2 miles without anyone to help because they also had to cary heavy boxes or heavy weapons was not a great thing to deal with. When we eventually got to the dorm hall, we sighed in relief that no one was at the couches. We all sat down, and I set the box on the table. "Here it is." I opened it. Inside was a red-bladed sword that was around as long as Brit was tall, sectioned off into smaller pieces, in which it turns into a scythe. The handle has a small slot to put things like money in, as well as being able to carry 3 magazines of ammo in it. Naomi's eyes widened at the sight of it, "Woah!" Scorpio looked at it for a second, "Isn't that just Qrow's sword?"
"Who's?" She sighed, "Never mind. Did Chasan give you permission to use it outside of school tonight too?" I nodded, "Thanks for ratting us out Brit." Luckily she was nowhere to be seen, probably in our dorm reading or something. Jamie held her rifle, "That's pretty cool and all, but how effective is that in a fight? I mean, it's huge. There's no way you're gonna be able to carry that."
"That's where you're wrong kiddo. If you were paying attention in biology, or I guess any day we were scavenging, Demons and Angels are naturally a lot stronger than humans. I can lift this as easily as Scorpio can lift a katana. Speaking of which," I looked at Naomi, "You're so amazed by everyone's, but yours is just a katana." She waged her finger, "There's a special thing with it. Hopefully you'll see it later." She pulled out the sword, it had a dark blue blade, with some Korean characters engraved on the side. "And tonight, I think it'll definitely come in handy."
I looked at the time on my phone. Naomi, Scorpio, and I had agreed to meet at 6 and go into town then. The time could not go by slower. Scorpio tapped my shoulder, "So, I was thinking about something."
"What?"
"So, we're both proficient hand to hand fighters, right?"
"Yeah."
"Maybe we should see how we are with weapons."
"Sure, why not?" I grabbed my weapon and we started going outside. "So, are we just doing this here or?" Scorpio shrugged, "I mean, do you want an audience?"
"I mean, the more the merrier." I opened the doors, and pulled the sword off my back. Even with elevated strength, it certainly had some weight to it. Scorpio pulled out a small stick from her pocket, and pressed a button on it. It grew to her height, a blade stuck out the side. "Ah, a scythe?" She nodded, then ran towards me. I jumped over her, and landed on the ground. I ran at her, then halfway I pressed a button on the handle of my weapon. It turned from a sword to a scythe, and I slashed at her. She just barely managed to duck under the blade, then tapped me in the legs with the handle of her weapon. "I win." I looked at her, "What? No, we're still fighting?" She nodded, and kicked the weapon out of my hand. "And now I win." I walked over and grabbed it, "Fine, I guess you do." From the door, I heard clapping. "Great show. I gotta say," Naomi and Akumura walked out, "So," Naomi put her hand on Scorpio's shoulder, "I'd think we'd best go now. I don't know about you guys, but it takes me close to an hour to walk from here to town."
"Sure, the sooner the better." Scorpio looked at us, "You do remember Jamie's coming with, right? Shouldn't someone tell her-"
"I already told her. She's going to stay here a little longer, make sure Brit doesn't blow the whole campus up. Speaking of, Akumura," She turned around, "You hold the fort down and make sure Kida doesn't blow anything up." He sighed, "Sure, whatever." He shoved his hands in his pockets and walked back inside. "So, are we doing this?" I clipped my sword to my back, "Hell yeah we are."
