Year 804
"Daddy! Do I have a mummy?" David's head was tilted up and his curious eyes stared at the man towering over him.
"Of course you do! She is just away at the moment, she will come back, I promise you." The man answered, resulting in David happily dancing around.
All of a sudden, the atmosphere became extremely tense and serious as the man grabbed a hold of David, placed his arms on his shoulders and said, "David, you are old enough now, it is time to train, it is only with power that YOU can survive in this world." The man said while his heart felt a tinge of sadness and guiltiness.
Afterwards, the man handed a piece of paper to David.
On the paper it said
10 push-ups x2
20 situps x2
20 squats x2
2km run
"The intensity will only increase, so get ready, both your body and your mind! I will make sure you train and study hard!"
2 weeks later...
"Hu...Hu...Hu... Daddy, I can't anymore!!!" David cried out as he was on his 4km run.
"If you have the energy to talk, you have the energy to run! Continue!!" David's father said as he ran with him and researched some odd book on his hand at the same time.
This torture continued on and did not stop.
2 years later...
"David, go ahead! Choose one of your liking, choose wisely as this is one of the only things that I will give you, you can't rely on me too much!" David's father said.
They were currently in a room with a large array of weaponry spread around the entire room and David can choose what he wants to yield in battle.
David glanced around the entire room excitedly, his hands caressed the hilt of the swords while his face was filled with shock and awe.
"I will pick these!" David said as he pulled out 2 slim Katanas.
"Good choices, but why did you take out 2?" David's father said.
"Well... Wouldn't 2 swords be stronger than 1?" David looked at his father as he questioned innocently!
"BWHAHAHA! Yes indeed, but with this logic, why not 3?" David's father replied sarcastically as he questioned David.
"Hmm? Then what would I use to hold it? My mouth? That's crazy!" David answered.
From that day, the things on David's plate increased as he now had to train, study, do weapons and a little martial arts training with his dad.
2 Years later...
"So have you read up all about magic?" David's father asked.
"Yes! Yes! I want to learn it now!!" David jumped up and down as he replied with a slightly crazed expression.
Specialisation
Fire- Very Offensive Magic
Water - Healing Magic
Earth - Defensive Magic
Lightning - Fast and offensive Magic
Air - All rounded Magic
Light - Very Fast magic
Dark - Sneaky Magic
David's father uses mainly fire and lightning magic while his Mother uses water and light magic. A pair of people very well suited to fight together.
"I want to learn all the magic!!" David said without hesitation as he stared at his father.
"BWHAHAHA, that's my son! That is certainly possible, however, right now you must choose two to focus on!"
"Whaaaa... Okay then... I guess I'll do Lightning and Air!" David said with a slightly downcast expression.
"Very well, I will teach you lightning magic as well as air, but for air, I will only be able to teach you limited spells as I only know a few low-level ones. But remember! You will feel a special kind of fatigue when you use too much magic, you must stop! Else, you die."
David's father told him firmly and seriously.
So, once again, Davids plate has increased.
2 Years later, the day before David's birthday.
"It is time! I will now access your abilities. Fight this uncommon ranked Fire Boar to the best of your abilities!"
David nodded with a slight smile as he looked straight at the Fire Boar and said "Bring it on!"
The fire Boar charged straight towards David, David readied his stance and used his spell,
David then jumped into the air as he somersaulted in the air, unsheathed his two katanas and slashed down diagonally with both his swords on the boar's body, giving it an x-shaped scar on its back.
The Boar gave an angry snort and used his back of the body to slam the falling David in the stomach, causing him to fly back a few centimetres and giving him a nasty blue-black.
As David was still not ready, the boar took the opportunity to charge at David, who in turn used the powered down spell of
The boar fell to the ground whimpering while David took out his katana from the boar's back and walked back to his father proudly while secretly holding his injured stomach.
"What are you doing idiot! The fight isn't over!" After that sentence said by his father, David heard the sound of the boar that was already very close to him, heading closer.
David froze on the spot due to the shock and his inexperience, giving his father no choice but to step in.
The boar was only a few centimetres away from ramming David's back when David's father rushed to it and giving it one solid punch in the head, giving the boar a quick death.
"What the hell was that! Never! Never be merciful to these monsters! You must finish it!
If you do not kill them, they will find a way to kill you, whether then or in the future! I hope you will learn from this mistake! If I hadn't stepped in, you may have been paralysed or even killed from the horns and the impact stabbing into you!" David's father berated him harshly.
Tears started to well up in David's eye as he gave an extremely pitiful expression.
"Go ahead and mourn and let it all out! But mourn for just a moment, then pick yourself up, learn from your mistakes and strive for something more!"
Those words that his father said resounded deeply within his heart and the words echoed within his mind.
David then replied with a firm and resolute "Yes!"
"However, other than that, you did an exceptionally good job for your age, good job! With your overall strength, you would be able to barely defeat a rare ranked monster! However beware, for even a group of common or uncommon monsters could be more dangerous than one rare ranked monster." David's father remarked.
Saying that, David's father handed him a recommendation letter to the prestigious Imperium Academy, whereby, after graduation at the age of 16, they can automatically become a newbie in the Adventure Hall. David will have to start school in just 2 days.
"Thank you Dad!" David responded enthusiastically, excited at the prospect of becoming stronger to reach the hero rank for the honour, glory and fame.
"David go sleep now it's getting late! Goodnight! And Goodbye..." David's father said.
"Goodnight!" Saying this, David left, showered, brushed his teeth and slept, unaware of the awaiting... Tragedy.
