For someone who had no purpose in life, entering an endless cycle where he could never die was nothing but torture.

Even though it was difficult, he found a purpose in life after getting out of this cycle he was stuck in. However, this time his soul could not stand the power he had gained and was shattered.

Like a piece of glass.

Under the influence of his power, many parts of his soul dispersed to different worlds. 

He had to find the missing pieces of his soul in order to continue his life. His newfound purpose led him to adventures in completely different worlds.
