When fourteen-year-old Gwyn Brei is sent on a year-long mountainside retreat to train, he wonders if it’s the chance he’s been looking for -- a chance to prove that he’s more than just another kid from the small village of Serec. Training with his mother’s old adventuring partner, however, it doesn’t sound like the path to glory Gwyn imagined. But when an unexplained voice enters the scene, events are set in motion that Gwyn was utterly unprepared for.
