Chapter 2 - The 10th Recruitment

Chaos erupted in the skyscraper as the drug lord fell dead. Terror and fear sprung up amidst the guests in the building as they all began storming out in fear. The bodyguards in the hall were informed of the situation, and they all hurried down to check.

"Guard all entrances; the shooter must not escape!" A bodyguard bellowed into his mic as the others stormed down to the corpse. Their eyes went wide as they met with the drug lord's lifeless body.

In the room, the lady withdrew her sniper gun and parked it back in its bag, and the other two ladies did the same. The server with the white trolling cart pushed his cart into the room and stood by the door.

He took out the ladies' gowns, threw them by the entrance, and gently hit his hand to inform them before he left. The ladies held the man's knock, opened the door, and took their dresses in. The ladies put off their black outfits and dressed in their party dresses. Their heels fit their dresses perfectly.

The bodyguards stormed to each exit in the skyscraper, blocking every path the ladies could pass.

"They mustn't escape. Tighten security now!" a bodyguard shouted. Several cars screeched to a stop in front of the skyscraper, and dozens of bodyguards streamed into the building with huge guns in their hands. The building's guests were also evacuated as the bodyguards recovered.

The ladies walked out of the room in their dresses. The server who waited at a corner for them spotted them as they left the room and walked away. He walked out of the corner, stood, and entered the room. He picked the ladies' black outfits and threw them into his white cart. He also took the three guns in black bags on the floor and placed them in his trolling cart, disguising them as mop sticks. After that, he left the room.

The ladies blended with the guests rushing out of the building. They were dressed like the ladies at the party, so they blended seamlessly with them. Their eyes met with the bodyguards storming about the entire building.

They blocked out all the exits, allowing only the guests to exit. The three ladies blended with the guests and left the skyscraper, passing through the battalion of bodyguards at the exit. They ventured into their car before screeching away.

The lady's car moved away from the skyscraper and into the city. One of the ladies drove. They drove away from the vicinity of the skyscraper, passing through deserted land before reaching a magnificent place. All the buildings surrounding them were made of glass and looked like paradise.

The gate to the city opened automatically as the ladies drove their vehicle through it, driving around the water fountain before parking in the parking lot where numerous other cars similar to theirs were parked. They alighted from the car, and their eyes met with the men who stood outside awaiting their arrival.

There were tons of buildings within the gate, all made of pure glass. Entering the buildings, one would think there is no such thing as nightfall as the bright light of the noble lights shined twenty-four-seven. Each building is endowed with tons of weapons. Agents could be seen at work in each building, all dressed in black.

Encrypted on the most prominent building, which was also the building marking the center of the city, a name written with all elegance that one could see from the entrance gate as it was written at the top of the tallest building present there. The name was encrypted with all elegance, and seeing it alone commanded authority and respect.

"BLACK DIAMONDS" is a name that strikes fear down all deceitful minds.

The three ladies walked to the men and were welcomed back to the agency.

"It was a job well done," one of the men complimented.

"Sorry for doubting you," the leader, who seemed to be in front, apologized to the lady. They both bowed in respect to each other. The ladies walked into the building, and the men also followed suit.

The waiter who had helped the ladies escape disguised himself as a bodyguard and left the skyscraper, returning to the agency grounds.

BACK TO THE JOYFUL MOMENT

The priests declared the ceremony completed, and the real party began. As the reception started, my Aunt Betta and Uncle Pat changed their outfits into something more comfortable. A beautiful lady hosted the reception and called on the family to say words to the newlyweds. After that, it was time for the dance.

The couples were given time to have their first dance together before we, the guests, were given the dance floor. I stood up and attempted to walk to my aunt Betta to congratulate her on her new life journey when three guys walked up to me asking for a dance.

I was stunned, not because of their number but because of their beauty. They were darn handsome. I knew I was beautiful, but I never expected three handsome guys to stand before me with their hands stretched forth to take me for a dance. They were good-looking, but my heart only belonged to one man, my only agent, James.

My eyes revered round the men as I wondered which to choose. They were all equally handsome, which placed me in a bit of jeopardy, but I picked one of them—the youngest among the men. Since I had to choose, I chose the youngest among them.

When I chose him, I could see him brimming from ear to ear. He led me to the dance floor, where we both danced together. The song played was slow, solemn classical music, which was not my style or the style of the guests from our side. Uncle Pat was from the city, and so were his guests, so they preferred slow classical music.

The bride and groom spent a little time with us before leaving for their time alone. Then, the music changed into something more of my style. Something we dance and listen to in my town. It was a list of playlists popular in the countryside. I gave them to the musician, who began playing them.

The party, which had been dull before, suddenly sprang to life as the guests began dancing to the body-lifting music that began playing. We danced, wined, and dined before leaving the town and returning to Rosemary Town.

It was already dark when we arrived at Rosemary Town, and the stars appeared in the sky. I was so tired that I went straight to my room, which I decorated with the stickers of Agent James's back outfits. I entered my room and fell straight into my bed. My eyes drifted slowly to sleep when my annoying brother came rattling in.

"Hey, secret agent, you still haven't gotten rid of the ridiculous stickers in your room," he sputtered. I raised my head from my pillow and rolled my eyes. He loved mocking the pictures of Agent James I pasted on the walls of my room. I have never seen his face, so I only have pictures of his back pasted on my walls.

Well, call me childish, I will accept it. I really can't wait to meet him, and of course, I know I have to be a secret agent first cause that's who he is

"Just leave; you're so annoying," I grumbled at him, and he laughed.

"Just forget your impossible dream and become a farmer. Rosemary Town is the best place for farmers. You love eating fruit. You can own an entire field of fruit-bearing trees," he muttered. I took my pillow and threw it at him.

"Go away," I bellowed, and he threw it back at me, laughing loudly as he left my room.

"Hugh! So annoying," I purred as I took my pillow and placed my head back on it.

The frame of one of Agent James' popular black outfits was beside my bed, and I loved staring at it before I slept.

"I don't care about what my brother has to say. I know I will become a secret agent and meet Agent James one day," I muttered before drifting off to sleep.

BLACK DIAMOND AGENCY

It was nighttime, but the black agency buildings still shone brightly in their noble illumination. The buildings were lit by the electric lights laced in them, and they seemed like the day had just reached and welcomed its afternoon sun.

Inside one of the buildings, a machine was running. It was printing some cards out. Some agents dressed in black stood in front of it, monitoring it as it worked. The name "Black Diamonds" was written on their black shirts.

They watched as the machine printed out the cards, and on the cards was boldly written.

"THE TENTH RECRUITMENT PROGRAM OF THE BLACK DIAMONDS"

The Black Diamonds' recruitment training happens every five years; the tenth will begin soon. One of the agents walked up to the machine, picked up one of the cards, and read through it. His eyes shimmered with the content.

"This year's training is going to be a nerve-breaker!"
