The Wolf's Rose
Chapter 1: The Scent of Lavender
Lily, a renowned love therapist, ironically, was wolf-bound. Her inner wolf yearned for its mate, a connection she'd never experienced. She'd dedicated her life to helping others find love, yet her own heart remained untouched. One blustery afternoon, Coal, a werewolf burdened by a tragic past, reluctantly sought therapy. His previous mate, Laura, the Luna, had perished at the hands of the Newland pack. It was a brutal reprisal for Coal's impulsive act – the killing of a young Newland wolf, an accident that spiraled into devastating consequences. He was supposed to see Linol, a male therapist, but Linol was unavailable. Instead, he was ushered into Lily's waiting room. He bristled at the thought of confiding in a woman. But then, he smelled her. Roses and lavender, a scent so intoxicating it stopped him in his tracks.
It left Coal wanting to be by Lily's side to touch, taste and feel her. Lily's scent left a longing in him it awoke his sleeping wolf, his wolf growled in excitement at the scent of lily, he wondered what was so unique about her that his inner wolf had risen in excitement, Coal waited to be called and hoped to find out what had gotten him so aroused by her scent
