Chapter 2 - Chapter 2. In The Lion Den

AIDEN'S POV.

I decided to take a walk today around the pack, accompanied by two of my hefty guards.

There was no smile on this face of mine, and I didn't care one bit.

The fact that I was the Alpha with a lot of responsibilities on my shoulder was enough to weigh me down, but I also had a bigger burden.

The one that managed to make me act in a way I never thought of acting.

But that was it—

I walked around the pack, and anybody that saw me took to their heels—it was an overwhelming sight for me.

The fear they had for me managed to make me happy, but all my happiness vanished the moment I saw a young girl glaring at me hardly.

She rolled her eyes, and made to resume walking when I stopped her—

"Hey there!" I called loudly, and she squinted her eyes—pointing at herself to ensure if I was calling her.

I simply nodded, and she came and stood before me with her hands folded beneath her breasts glaring at me hardly—this act of hers took me aback for few seconds.

On a usual day, anyone I stop would go on their knees and wouldn't dare look me in the face—but her?!

"Who the hell was she?" I asked myself as anger seethed through me.

"How dare you?" I managed to say voice out, as I tried hard to contain my anger.

"Me?" She asked again, making me seem like a fool and I growled angrily.

"How dare you?" I questioned and she shrugged nonchalantly.

"You dare look me in the eyes to talk to me?? Your Alpha?!" I asked with pride, waiting to see her response.

"I'm not sorry—instead you should be, as an Alpha—why should your people be scared of you in that manner?" She asked staring at me eye ball to eye ball.

"The most annoying part is that you're enjoying it—So tell me, aren't you a beast?" She asked and my eyes widened.

My guards made to attack her, but I stopped them with a wave of my hand.

"Are you calling me a beast?" I asked not believing my ears, and she hummed making me clench my fists in anger.

But then, a sly smile appeared on my lips— "Aren't you scared of what I'd do to you?" I asked with a light grin on my face, and she chuckled lightly.

"You see—" She started coming closer to me but I stood still to know what she was up to.

"I've been afraid all my life—but you see, today marks it my eighteenth birthday and that's why I refused to get afraid or scared today," She said and stood before me when I growled again—but this time, it was different.

 Wait—That wasn't me!!

 It was my wolf—

"Why was it growling?" I couldn't help but ask myself, but the more she stood closer to me—the more that I and my wolf battled inside my head.

It was until I started feeling that attraction—that I had once felt towards my ex-mate, that I realized what has been happening.

My wolf had recognized my Mate—

I thought, and slowly looked up to glance at her—but this time around, the only feeling I felt towards my so-called mate was hatred.

"How dare she say she's not scared of me," I wondered...

"Her Alpha..." I glanced at her, to see her staring at me wildly too.

"I'd make you regret talking to me in that manner—" I said, and pulled out the sword of my guard.

As I made to kill her—my wolf started attacking me, and I knew from all indications that It didn't want me to kill her.

I groaned and dropped the sword on the ground as I boiled in rage—it wasn't a funny thing as my wolf has decided to live my life for me.

"Just go and thank the moon goddess that I didn't end up taking your life," I spat angrily but she simply shrugged.

"You just stepped on the tail of a lion, and I'd make you regret ever talking to me in that manner," I growled angrily....

She chuckled lightly and made to leave when I signaled to my guards to capture her—

She glared at me evilly with a smirk, "What are you up to?" She asked me this with a cold look.

"You'd see that yourself very soon, amongst the maids in my mansion," I said, and her eyes widened—but she didn't say a word.

I made jest of her along with my guards, "Cat got your tongue?" I asked jokingly-but she didn't reply me.

"Oh yeah, I love the look on your face," I smiled slyly.

She heaved deeply, her eyes filled with rage—but there was nothing she could do since my guards held her tightly.

"Dumbass, jerk!" She spat out and I clenched my fists angrily.

"I said don't...YOU EVER INSULT ME!" I spat angrily but that was it.

It was like I was talking to a log of wood, as she kept in doing what I asked her not to do.

"You aren't worth being my Alpha at all, and that's the same way that you aren't worth being respected," She said, and my eyes widened.

"Enough!!!" I said, and she growled.

"Look here Mr man, there's no level of punishment or suffering that I've never faced in this world—it's just unfortunate how the world turned out to be wicked," She said and I smiled.

"We'll know if you'll end up getting tired or if you're just going to stay strong amidst the hard labor," I said, making emphasis on the lard labour.

She squinted her eyes, staring at me like I had suddenly become a statue—before hissing out loudly.

"Imagine everyone running away from you—just because you're the Alpha and you're expecting everyone to be the same," She shook her head in disgust.

"You'll regret this!" She spat and I quickly ordered my guards to take her back to mansion while I began to think of how such a mentally disabled person can be my mate.

She's so crazy!
