I looked around my surroundings. Scanning for any potential threats. My hands held the bedsheets trying to stand but I couldn't. My body was weak and frail. "Young mistress. Young mistress is awake!",an elderly lady said making everyone gather.
A much younger woman sat next to me and held my hands warmly. "Avery, my dear after weeks my darling daughter is awake. I thank the heavens for this",she said happily, tears of joy falling from her cheeks. "Was she my mother?", I thought staying quiet. Suddenly my mothers happy face drops she hold my hand and said coldly,"Avery just be grateful you didn't die"
What was happening wasn't she just happy now why the sudden switch?. Immediately a man enters holding a gold oriented walking stick. He held his head high and bearly blinked.
" you are awake?.How dare you sit there looking innocent when you aren't" the man said. WHAT KIND OF FAMILY WAS THIS?. was I reborn? or is this just a dream and if this was a dream then I must be alive.
"My darling don't shout at our daughter like that. She is very weak now. She's our only daughter", the woman said holding my father affectionately with a huge horrific grin on her beautiful face. "Stella, she won't be our only daughter, you are already carrying my son in your womb",said my father, Mr Wellesley.
Stella blushes slightly and hides like a baby behind My father. Soon after they left and my room was empty. I looked at the mirror which was in front of my bed.As I stared into the ornate mirror, its golden frame glowing softly in the morning light, I'm captivated by my own reflection. My dark hair cascades down my back like a waterfall of night, framing my heart-shaped face and accentuating the bright, hazel eyes that sparkle like gemstones in the sun. My skin, a radiant canvas of smooth, creamy complexion, seems to glow from within, as if infused with an inner light.
I gaze deeper, my eyes locking onto their own reflection, and feel a sense of wonder wash over me. Who is this beautiful, mysterious woman staring back at me? I smile, and my reflection smiles back, the hazel eyes crinkling at the corners as my full lips curve upward. In this moment, I feel invincible, like the world is mine for the taking.
I couldn't help but be marveled. Even my old face couldn't surpass this beauty. God really did a good job.
As I was drooling over myself my door was slammed open. I looked and it was a maid. How could a maid of such low status dare open my door that way. I couldn't move my whole body but I was regaining my energy slowly. "Girl, take",the maid said throwing a bucket of soap water and a sponge my way."The lady of the house has ordered me to clean your room just because you've awaken. Take this and clean not just your room but the enrire mansion "the maid said to my utmost surprise.
I was irritated and angry. Who was this low class city pumpkin referring to?.me? I held my head high and said nothing. "Girl did you lose your earing after you decided to commit suicide? "The maid spat.
Suicide?, did this magnificent beauty really commit suicide? Why?.
"You should have died just like your low-life mother did",those words said by a lower class individual hurt me deeply. I didn't know the woman so why am I in pain?.
The maid's words were a slap in the face, a vicious blow that left me reeling. "You should have just died, just like your low-life mother did."
A red haze descended over me, and I saw nothing but fury. I launched myself at her, fists flying, and we crashed to the floor.
I pinned her down, my hands around her throat, my eyes blazing with a fierce and deadly intensity. "You'll never speak about my mother like that again," I hissed, my voice low and menacing.
The maid's face turned purple, her eyes bulging as she tried to pry my hands loose. But I held tight, fueled by rage and a deep-seated need for justice.
Not until she begged for mercy, not until she apologized for her cruel words, did I release my grip. I stood up, chest heaving, eyes still blazing with fury.
The maid cowered on the floor, whimpering and trembling. I stood up, chest heaving, eyes still blazing with fury. The maid cowered on the floor, whimpering and trembling.
"Apologize," I spat, my voice cold and deadly.
The maid hesitated, then stuttered out a weak apology. "I-I'm sorry...I didn't mean to..."
I glared at her, unsatisfied. "Say it like you mean it," I growled.
The maid swallowed hard, then spoke in a shaking voice. "I'm deeply sorry for what I said about your mother. It was cruel and unjustified. Please forgive me."
I regarded her for a long moment, then nodded curtly. "You're fired. Get out."
