Chapter 3 - oh sweet lord

The tall man was looking at my face like it was disfigured. Who was he?. He carried me in his arms and sat me on a chair. I was alarmed, I noticed a fruit knife next me and grabbed it swiftly.

"Don't come near me,come near me and you'll see",I shouted angrily pointing the knife at him then suddenly I couldn't control my body. My arm dropped aggressively on my waist. The tall man laughed slightly exposing his magnificent beautiful dimples and snow white teeth.

"I think this poison is curare. Its a plant based poison. Luckily she did not inhale more than what she was meant to or else she would have been dead.",said a man with beautifully sculpted face. His hair was combed back wards and he wore glasses that made him even cuter.

"What about her arm?"The tall man asked. "Liam,I've treated her arm. It isn't so serious but if not properly taken care of it may become worse. And Liam this is my first time seeing you so concerned about a girl, what's so special about her?,the make doctor asked. "Lucian, just mind your own business, I just wanted to help",Liam said combing his long black hair backwards with his hands. "You are never kind not even to me,a friend of yours for four years Lucian said playfully as I slowly get up from my bed.

Liam and Lucian's eyes falls on me as I stayed still on the soft bed.

I opened my eyes and scanned the beautiful room."How did I get here?",I asked half awake and half asleep. Lucian smiles a bit and let's out a small but noticeable smirk."My friend here, saved you",Lucian said looking at Liam.

"I am very thankful to for saving me sir Liam",I said bowing my head down to thank him. "You shouldn't have....." "But sir Liam I can save myself I don't need anyone's help but thanks for your kind but unnecessary effort ",I said standing from my position. Liam and Lucian stared at me in shock. "Who's this girl that made me feel....",Liam thought with a huge grin on his face.

Liam's friend, Dr. Lucian, smiled warmly as he examined me. "You're lucky Liam brought you here," he said. "The poison in your system is curare, a plant-based toxin. If left untreated, it could have caused permanent paralysis or even death."

I shuddered at the thought, grateful for Liam's timely intervention.

Dr. Lucian continued, "I've treated the poison and set your broken arm. You'll need to rest for a few days, but you should make a full recovery."

As he finished speaking, he glanced at Liam, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "I have to say, Liam, this is the first time I've seen you so... invested in someone's well-being."

Liam's expression remained emotionless, but I caught a flicker of something in his eyes. Was it concern? Or something more?.

"I'd like to go home now, what's the time?",I said giving a weak smile.

"It's 5:00am in the morning, I think you should rest first, you are too weak to stand up",Dr. Lucian said giving me a cup of green tea."it should help you regain your energy.its hot so drink it slowly ",Lucian said as I start drinking it. I finished it within seconds to the stock of others.

"What's your name young lady?",Liam said staring at me with a cold and seemingly domineering gaze. "I'm lady Avery from the house of the Wellesley" I answered.

"Wellesley, huh?,that's nice to know", Liam thought. I rested for few hours. When it was morning sir Liam took me back home. I entered my mansion which was seemingly quiet. They didn't care that I was outside.tears almost dropped from my cheeks knowing that I was not important in the lives of this people. But why was I crying?,I don't care, could it be that it's the emotions of this body is working.

I had realised this wasn't a dream,I had actually reincarnated.i entered my room and slept on my rock hard bed. I growled in pain, looking at my bedsheets made from rags. "This girl must have really suffered. And she must have died when she committed suicide",I thought sneaking out of my room. I felt uncomfortable because of the cast that was on my hand. I entered a big beautiful room.

I pushed open the door and stepped inside, my eyes adjusting to the dim light. The room was sleek and modern, with a minimalist aesthetic that seemed to reflect a lady's personality. I spotted a large window with a stunning view of the city skyline.
