Chapter 20 - Trouble Calling 3

Emmanuel walked on the road of the market filled with busy people performing various action. The bright sun scorched his face endlessly. Yet all this actions went unnoticed by Emmanuel as he currently seemed lost. His eyes faced the ground as if admiring it's beauty, only that, it wasn't what was happening. Emmanuel was simply in deep thought.

He was currently having flashbacks of the event that just took place between him and the wrist watch hawker. A question kept resounding in his head as he walked on this busy road yet carried a lonely aura. ' Was that really the right thing to do ' He thought repeatedly. He was at war with his conscience at this moment. Though Emmanuel could be said to be ninety nine percent sure that the young man from earlier was really scheming against him, but then he just couldn't bring himself to judge him that much. He felt that he was overly ruthless with the young man. He literally allowed him to fall that fatally to the ground. If it weren't for grace, it isn't an understatement to say something deadly could have happen to the young man. Then to talk of the wrist watches that would be spoilt or damaged, that was another bad situation. What if those wrist watches were the young man's only means of earning a living. Does it then mean e had just destroyed a person's source of daily bread. But then should have just let himself be played like that by the seller.

The truth was that Emmanuel could relate with the young man to a certain little extent. Even though he didn't think he would have committed the same actions as the young man, but then he didn't feel he had the right to judge the man. People like the young man are usually people that have reached the worst point of life, and so have resorted to their last line of defence, a cruel survivor. People like that only interested in their survival and are usually willing to go to extreme extent to achieve their goals and acquire their benefits, even if it at times meant hurting people seriously. There were even many like that who have completely killed their humanity and have resorted into robbery, kidnapping and other forms of bad means of money making.

Emmanuel felt that he could have at least just played along, and then maybe if it was only one watch that got damage, one thousand or to thousand naira should be enough. At least it was nothing compared to the fifty thousand naira which he was currently carrying on him. Though he would also have to be afraid as you might give the young bronze, and then he would end up requesting for silver. Even if you did give him the silver, he might then ask for gold. That was one of the thins Emmanuel was trying to avoid which was one of the main reasons he carried out that action.

" Sigh " He let out a sigh. He then threw all the thought to the back of his head as he knew that there was nothing he could possibly do. Even if he were to go back right now, he knew the chances of actually still meeting the young man there was close to zero, and so his best option was to forget about the incident and then continue with his search. " Wait, where am I ", he suddenly asked himself. He raised his head up and noticed he was in an unknown environment. Though he was still inside the market, but he has definitely deviated from his original path. He was lost.

He immediately started looking around and then went to the people he saw and ask them for direction. He kept on with it until he started to get into a more familiar environment. Once he saw the familiar place, a smile was immediately birthed on his face. He was glad that he wasn't really lost to a point where he wouldn't have been able to find his original route easily as this market was really big.

He immediately started walking towards an even more familiar environment when his eyes caught wind of something that made his happy expression die out immediately, leaving behind a frown. More like his gazed flashed by someone, Or better still a group of people. It was the young wrist watch seller. But this time it wasn't only him. Five more people stood behind him as they walked towards Emmanuel with scary gazes. At this point, Emmanuel knew that true trouble has knocked.
