Chapter 57 - Awakening the Elf Girl IV

Once I heard D's confirmation, I could feel how the mana was being injected into the elf girl in a steady, regulated manner. It felt like it was filling a small glass drop by drop. I couldn't feel the flower's power anywhere, but the fact that the elf girl wasn't grimacing in pain meant that its power was taking effect. It was more than clear that the flower's power operated in unknown ways.

The mana that was being filtered into the elf girl was the mana that was inside the black cube. That energy was purer than that normally found in the atmosphere; it was supposedly of a higher quality according to the analysis done by D, and in theory it should be easier to use. The process that I was performing could not be seen by the people around us. After all, I was using the 'hide' characteristic and I was also using the 'transfer' characteristic. Usually, elves seem to be able to sense when someone manipulates the mana in the atmosphere, but I knew that they would not be able to sense my movements since the mana I was using was not in the atmosphere, but was coming from the cube. And if we add the 'hide' characteristic to the equation, it became impossible for them to be able to detect said energy.

The 'transfer' feature allowed me to transfer energy easily. I didn't necessarily need to touch the target in order to transfer the energy; it was enough that I could see it with my eyes. In this case, I was touching the elf girl so that no one could see the energy I was leaking into her. I was sure that if I moved away from the elf girl and tried to transfer the energy, they would notice what I was doing by the strange movement my energy would produce in the atmosphere. I was sure that at least Idril would notice, and the last thing I wanted was for them to come up with the grandiose idea of intervening while I was doing the process. I could see the faces of the royal family; their concern was palpable. It was clear that everyone was nervous; after all, I could see their hearts pounding.

Idril seemed to be scanning the process he was performing, but unfortunately for her, she couldn't even see the process he was using to filter the mana into the girl. From an outside point of view, the white-haired, blue-eyed boy wasn't doing anything dangerous. After all, she was unable to sense the boy's mana, therefore, it was impossible for her to determine whether what he was doing was dangerous or not. And she was also looking at the flower with a human face, as she felt strangely attacked by it. Her bloodlust had lessened after being threatened by that boy, but for some strange reason she still felt uneasy.

Eryn watched the scene before her with a complicated look on her face. She seemed more concerned about the strange flower than her little girl. She had a bad feeling about her; that flower gave off a strange vibe and made her body tremble uncontrollably.

Maedhros, for his part, had already ordered the leader of the royal guard to be attentive to every movement the flower made, since he was not entirely convinced that she was weak as that boy had claimed.

Angrod, on the other hand, was thinking of something very different. He knew better than anyone what that strange flower was. That being could not be categorized on the same level as a beast. After all, the flower had spoken, which proved that it was special. And to begin with, that race did not speak. At most, it could imitate the sounds it had heard before, but this one was not imitating the sounds. This flower had intelligence and could answer the questions asked of it. He had read multiple records and details of such creatures in his teenage years, and none of the creatures he had read about in texts said that they could speak. Also, another rather peculiar thing was the color of this flower; its color was pink and the innate color of that species was green.

And then, if you added the fact that it could speak so fluently, it said a lot about it. If he had to give that creature a classification, it would undoubtedly be the 'divine beast' class. Beings that fall into that class are without equal. He hoped he was wrong about that flower that D had brought. He didn't want to think that he could defeat a creature of that category so easily. Also, another thing to keep in mind was that it was rumored since ancient times that that kind of flower could curse its opponents and kill them slowly and painfully. The worst of all was that there was no way of defense against it; it is simply lethal to any living being.

Lia was sitting up. Her face showed no signs of any kind of pain. It was more than clear that she was not feeling any discomfort at all. On the other hand, she occasionally let out a giggle. Of course, she was thinking about the prize she would receive.

In this way, about 30 minutes passed since the process of filtering the energy into the girl began. Then, D's voice was heard.

- THE FIRST STAGE WAS A SUCCESS, THE SECOND STAGE WILL BEGIN.

The first stage turned out to be a resounding success. This stage involved filling the elf girl's entire body with the energy from the cube. Once her body was completely filled with energy, D immediately began the second stage of the process, which involved controlling the mana that he had previously leaked. This was done in order to prevent the energy that he had leaked from escaping from the body, and using that same energy, he began to circulate it throughout the girl's body. Even I could feel the process inside the girl. Extremely thin threads of mana were being created that moved like snakes throughout the girl's body. They seeped into the heart, veins, muscles, and even bones. In my head, I could feel and see the entire process that was taking place. It was a simply beautiful process. They even seeped into the channels that were supposed to be where mana normally flowed.

'Beautiful.'

That was all I could say in my thoughts. The process that was taking place was thorough, and I once again realized the absurd and monstrous control D had over that energy. I was not capable of doing such a thing. After all, at most I could move the energy that has already separated from my body a little, but he was different. Even if the energy left our body, he was still able to control it and maintain a connection with it.
