"Martial Arts Masters?! Hundreds of years have passed, haven't these stinky rats died out yet?"
Piccolo Daimao's eyes narrowed, and his already aging body suddenly emitted an extremely dangerous aura. Hundreds of years ago, Piccolo Daimao was sealed into a rice cooker by a martial artist using the Mafuba technique. He hated martial arts masters with a passion.
"That's fine! Then let's kill these damn stinky rats and snatch the Dragon Balls from their hands! Tell me, where are these stinky rats now?"
Piccolo Daimao asked murderously, his sinister gaze fixed on Chowder Rice.
"Piccolo Daimao, apart from knowing that they are collecting Dragon Balls all over the world, I don't know their exact location. However, I do know that a new World's No. 1 Martial Arts Conference is being held. As martial arts masters, they will definitely attend the tournament," Chowder said in fear.
"Then let's head straight to the venue of the World's No. 1 Martial Arts Conference! In addition to seizing the Dragon Balls and restoring our youth, we can also eliminate these damn martial artists once and for all!"
Piccolo Daimao laughed evilly. If he could exterminate all the martial arts masters, there would be no one left to seal him again.
"Yes, Piccolo Daimao!"
The three henchmen could only nod with grim expressions. They knew that any refusal would result in their immediate execution.
While Piccolo Daimao and his forces made their way to the 22nd World's No. 1 Martial Arts Tournament, Jiang Wei had also brought the protagonist group to participate in the event.
As the previous champion, little Goku did not sign up for the competition. He had always fought in tournaments to challenge strong opponents, not for the title or prize money, which barely covered a meal for him. With his current strength, no martial artist at the tournament could be a worthy opponent, so he had no interest in participating.
However, at the request of his elder brother Jiang Wei, little Goku still attended the tournament as a spectator.
Except for Jiang Wei and little Goku, everyone else signed up to compete. Even the newly added Blonde Launch, as well as Oolong and Puar—who were usually just mascots in the story—entered the competition at Jiang Wei's insistence.
Jiang Wei's goal was clear: all eight finalists must be his people.
"Teacher Kame Sennin, I'm here!"
Krillin waved to Kame Sennin, who had come to watch the tournament from his island.
Seeing Krillin's incredible growth, Kame Sennin felt proud. The waves of the younger generation were already pushing ahead, overtaking the older ones.
"Krillin, I haven't seen you in years, and you've already completely surpassed me," Kame Sennin said with a pleased smile.
"Old pervert, is this little bald guy your disciple?"
The three martial artists from the Crane School had also entered the tournament and approached Kame Sennin to issue a challenge.
Unlike the others in Jiang Wei's faction, Krillin still wore the "亀" battle uniform of Kame Sennin instead of the "Dragon" emblem. His outfit resembled the black battle suit worn by Black Goku Zamasu.
"Hey, you're not dead yet?"
Kame Sennin and Crane Hermit immediately started bickering.
Unable to gain the upper hand in their exchange, Crane Hermit angrily declared that he would crush Kame Sennin's disciples in the tournament and prove that the Turtle School was nothing compared to the Crane School.
Kame Sennin, however, simply watched the Crane School trio walk away with a knowing smirk.
With Jiang Wei's faction competing, no one else had a chance at the championship.
Did Crane Hermit think they would be crushed?
He was talking about himself, right?
After the preliminaries eliminated the weaker contestants, the Crane School's Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu managed to reach the semifinals.
The only non-Jiang Wei faction member left was Krillin, who technically belonged to Kame Sennin's school.
The rest of the semifinalists all wore "Dragon" combat uniforms and were part of Jiang Wei's faction.
"Brother, can I go back to the gravity room and continue training?"
From the stands, little Goku asked, visibly bored.
"Goku, watching fights is also a form of training. Are you trying to escape?"
Jiang Wei smirked.
"Brother, I will never avoid training!"
The moment Goku heard the word "training," his boredom disappeared.
Jiang Wei activated his scouter.
Krillin: Power Level 4,500 Yamcha: Power Level 3,000 Bulma: Power Level 480 Oolong: Power Level 110 Puar: Power Level 110 Blonde Launch: Power Level 35 Tien Shinhan: Power Level 200 Chiaotzu: Power Level 150
Due to the death of Torudo, the Crane School had been pushed harder, resulting in Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu having slightly higher power levels than in the original story.
Semifinals: Jiang Wei's Faction vs. Crane School
The first match was Tien Shinhan vs. Blonde Launch.
Unsurprisingly, Tien Shinhan crushed Blonde Launch with ease.
"Another cold-hearted guy! He doesn't even go easy on women. If I hadn't met Jiang Wei, I might have fallen for this guy," Blonde Launch muttered after Bulma gave her a Senzu Bean.
The second match was Yamcha vs. Chiaotzu.
Despite Chiaotzu using his psychic powers, Yamcha overpowered him due to the sheer difference in strength.
The remaining two matches saw Krillin and Bulma eliminate Oolong and Puar without much effort.
Second Round of Semifinals: Bulma vs. Tien Shinhan
"Why is my opponent a woman again?"
Tien Shinhan frowned.
"Three-eyes, don't underestimate women! And don't underestimate me! In another world, I was the woman who saved the world!"
Bulma vanished from sight, reappeared behind Tien Shinhan, and sent him flying out of the ring with a single punch.
"Nice job, babe!"
Jiang Wei cheered, followed by little Goku, who was still "training" by watching the matches.
There was no doubt—Krillin was the champion.
Yamcha secured second place.
After defeating Tien Shinhan, Bulma jumped off the ring and returned to Jiang Wei's side.
Tien Shinhan's Change of Heart
Tien Shinhan was stunned. Defeated by a delicate woman? His confidence was shattered.
Kame Sennin, however, noticed his reaction. Although Tien Shinhan was a disciple of Crane Hermit, he was also a dedicated martial artist. Seeing his inner turmoil, Kame Sennin stepped forward and gave him guidance.
Hearing Kame Sennin's words, Tien Shinhan suddenly realized his true path.
He wasn't meant to be an assassin.
He was a martial artist at heart.
Having come to this realization, Tien Shinhan decided to betray the Crane School and follow his own way.
Crane Hermit was furious at Tien Shinhan's defection, but he could do nothing.
Even Chiaotzu turned his back on him.
Crane Hermit had not only lost in battle, but also lost his strongest students.
To make matters worse, he regretted trusting them with the seven Dragon Balls. He should have kept them for himself.
But it was too late.
Tien Shinhan was an honorable man.
