Kyler and Mr. Henry were very close and the company was now the top Gaming company in Canada. Due to enough resources and a friendly working environment, the game programmers worked fast, and the games were launched frequently. Mr. Henry's paperwork increased but he never lacked time for the best person, most favorite in his life. To make it work and to have enough time for both of them to work they had agreed to 'no intimacy in the office policy'. At least that kept them in bay though at times it was broken without a care in the world.
Soon, Mr. Henry was to launch a very expensive game and as a result the event was held in a large event room rented from the best hotel. Tim Hortons. He also requested to have a board and investors party, and he merged both events. He just wanted to show his appreciation to their contributions. Obviously, they'll never leave their partners and so without a second thought he knew he had to be accompanied by Kyler. His girlfriend. That night as they ate dinner, he requested her to accompany him, and she agreed on the spot.
"That was fast. I thought you had a lot of work nowadays and I felt I was bothering you."
Pushing her chair back, she went and sat on his lap.
"Nothing will ever make me too busy for you. You also squeeze yourself everyday to be at home early enough for a cuddle. You think I can't do that for you...My love for you will make me so guilty that I'll end up running to where you're." She said hugging his neck and whispering to his ear.
"You know some other parts of me are now awake and want to speak too right? "
"Aw,,[giggling] I amost forgot you have another little person down there."she said standing and walked to the living room.
"I am really sorry, but I have to finish these shorts before I sleep." she shouted at him still at the table.
Without saying a thing, he stood up and went upstairs to work on himself. She didn't know the severity of what she had done to him.She never knew. He struggled to ascend the stairs calmly and when he reached his room, he was relieved. At the living room, Darling had dozed off not so long after Henry had gone upstairs. She really was tired. When Bridgit had finished washing the dishes, she saw her and gently helped her up. Once on her feet she thanked her and said she could walk to her room. Hesitantly, Bridgit let her go and watched as she groggily went up the stairs one after the other. Smiling she left to retire for the day too.
At the conjunction of the stairs, she unknowingly went to the left, whereas her room was to the right. Unfortunately, the similarity of the doors made things to be all wrong. As she does usually, she sprawled herself all over the bed, shoes on and the clips still on her hair. The whirring of the Moen shower nuzzles hadn't reached her ears yet. Soon she was deep in slumberland.
Mr. Henry almost let go the towel he was holding at the waist when she saw her on his bed. Wtf was she doing there?
Seeing that she was dead asleep, he went to his dresser and wore a shirt and sweatpants. Maybe she wanted to sleep with me today and was so shy to ask so she came when I was in the bathroom. He thought while adjusting her so that both of them could fit. He slid in next to her and covering both of them with the blanket, they slept. Morning came in jiffy and Kyler woke up between someones hands. She quietly turned to find Henry pretending to be asleep. She had seen him from the corner of her eyes closing his own.
Fully turned to his side, their faces were inches apart. She tried to move from his hug, but his hands refused to be pried open. Remembering that they were still in bed and so many things could take place in this room, she stayed still. She took the chance and observed his face up-close. His eyelashes were so long, and his jaws had a strong look that was so inviting to trace with her fingers. She then moved to his lips and couldn't help but savour them. They were luscious and so thin. She quickly gave him a peck and kissed his eyes too.
That worked magic and his grip loosened. She was just stumbling out of bed when she was pulled back and he was suddenly on top of her.
"You have to get this" he said as he bit on her earlobe and then kissed her passionately. He was igniting a fire that would be too hard to put out. Kyler pushed him off and quickly left for her room. Tonight, she had to go to the launch, and she still had a lot to analyze in the office. Henry was on the bed where he had been pushed, too deep in thought. He really wanted her, like really wanted her. Slowly, he went to her room and without knocking, he entered. Seeing the clothes she had on the bed; he walked into the bathroom startling her.
Twenty minutes later, they came out kissing and Henry was more than satisfied, that morning, he fell for her again. She was so beautiful. Reluctantly they let go and prepared for work. Adrian and Tommy had been waiting for them almost an hour now and when they saw them coming out all lovey dovey they got the gist why they were late.In the car, Kyler complained that she needed an assistant. She said she had no breaks and she always went home so fatigued.
Mr. Henry listened to her quietly and looked at her for so long that she stopped talking and snapped him out of his daze.
"Did you even hear what I said?" she asked raising her eyebrow.
"You need an assistant. You didn't have to explain all that."
"But you didn't stop me and kept looking at me as if I had to explain myself."she said and hitting his arm, looked in front. Henry gazed at her face all the way to the company. He requested her to stay in the car and once the door was opened for him, he jogged to open for her. She blushed and held his hand as they walked to their elevator.
"This used to be mine alone..."
"Now it's just ours. Future hubby and future wify" she said hugging his arm. Ding! The elevator opened and they had to act professional. They both walked to their offices without looking back and the new secretary was happy for them and she smiled at their behaviors. The witch secretary had been demoted because Kyler had felt that her being fired was a waste of an asset.
She had been so lucky because Mr. Henry had made her the receptionist and not a janitor. The new secretary was good hearted and loved watching drama and sneaky moves this two had. How lucky that their floor had just the three of them. The day flew and it was 6pm already. The event was to start at 8pm. Kyler had planned to go home at seven and freshen up.
However, as she picked her belongings to leave, Henry called for her through the office mobiles. Once in his office, she found no one but on the table was a bag with her name. She curiously checked and was happy to see a piece of cloth and a pair of stilettos. Seeing no one there, she searched his drawers for a sticky note or a paper she could leave a message for him.
"What are you doing? "he asked catching her red handed. He was coming from an adjacent room Kyler had never thought existed. Its door looked exactly like the wall and that was why it was so hard to see. It blended in with the walls. Without answering him first, she ran and peeped where he was coming from. It was large room which looked like a sitting room and had two doors on its side. Flabbergasted, she walked in asking.
"What is this place?"
"It's a safe hiding place for me. It occupies the rest of the floor. I used to spend a lot of time here."he said casually.
"All those months and you never told me you had such a place?"she asked hands akimbo.
"I never thought it was important and it never occured that I should tell you."he tried to defend himself.
"Mmf" she huffed, as she walked deeper. There was a small kitchen at the far end. He walked behind her with the bag he had bought for her. He dared not talk. She opened one of the doors at the right side of the sitting room and found a large bedroom. His perfume was strong. The room was so masculine with dark grey curtains and black sheets. The bedside table worsened the appearance with its dark brown color.
"Why all these dull colors?" she asked and walked in.
"It's just who I am. I love them I guess." he said but quickly added, "you can change them if you want. No problem."
"It's thirty minutes to 8. I'll prepare first." she said snatching the bag from his hands and entered the bathroom. She dressed in the navy-blue dress he had given her, and she liked it. It was a large V at the back and a smaller V cutout as the cleavage. Her whole back and some of her breasts were in the open. It fitted her tightly at the hips and enhanced her figure figuratively. She then redid her make up and wore the black stilettos and finally let her hair down. She was gorgeous as ever.
She walked out of the bathroom to find a very handsome man. Mr. Henry had changed to a navy-blue suit and white shirt. He wore a black bow tie and had combed his hair backwards and it looked so neat. Neater than all the other times they were ever together. When Henry heard her come out, he stared at her, smiled and then furrowed his eyebrows.
"What's wrong?"she asked seeing the change in his expression.
"I think it's too showy." he said turning her to see her back. "Your whole flawless back is exposed." he said grim face.
"It's nothing as long as you're by my side all the time," she said. "And I know you will just like I will be by your side."
" Okay. Let's go its ten minutes to eight we just need a not so late grand entrance, right?" He said putting a shiny fluffy coat on her shoulders. In the basement, they found Adrian and Tommy waiting. Henry opened the door for Kyler while Adrian opened for him. They arrived only five minutes late and everyone was owed by their presence. Cameras flashed in front of them and paparazzies and journalists almost fell on their feet, but Adrian, Tommy and the Security saved their ass from being swallowed by the huge crowds.
So many people had come to buy the newest game being launched. Inside, they were directed to the high table where the board of directors and investors sat. After the greetings, they had a drink as the speeches began. The people representee thanked the company for the games they brought to them as they helped in very many ways. The games were also very healthy for the mind, and it was an honor to the company to hear that. A board member and one investor also said one or two things and finally it was time for the famous CEO to do what he always did.
He started by greeting everyone and specially thanked Kyler for being a good, truthful and faithful financialist. He thanked her for spotting all the money leakages and gave her a minute to say something to the world, As the limelight was on her, Henry felt proud to have her by his side and at the moment wished for nothing more. Back on stage, he thanked the board and the investors and finally officially launched the game.
People celebrated and finally as they went out, the paparazzi and the journalists got the chance to take a photo of the two. At home, Kyler kicked off her shoes at the door and carried them by hand while Henry removed his coat and folded his shirt arms. They had hardly sat down for five minutes when Henry received a call. As usual he stood up and went far from her but this time his face twiched irritated by the caller. Out on the porch he sat down speaking and coughed.
An observing Kyler saw him cough and swiftly went to the kitchen and requested for a glass of juice from Bridgit. She walked slowly and tip toed behind him. She was just about to tap his shoulder when he stood and angrily with a deep voice spoke to the person on the other side.
"I told you already. I don't give a damn about being the crown prince. I love my life here. Furthermore, my company is booming so don't think you'll pull me back there by telling me that I should marry her. I would have stayed there if I wanted that life. "He said and hang the phone before the other party could respond.
However, Kyler had been left where he had said something about marrying. As he angrily turned, he was startled to find Kyler looking at him puzzled.
