The Nobu dining room sparkled with candlelight, but it was nothing compared to the performance happening at our table. Mily fed Calvin another piece of sashimi with practiced affection, and I watched him accept it with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. Sometimes, when he thought no one was looking, his gaze would drift to me with an intensity that made my chest tight.
"Remember our honeymoon in Bali?" Mily's voice was honey-sweet as she touched Calvin's arm. "You were so romantic."
