Chapter 6 - Part 6.

Édua tried to open her eyes cautiously, squinting, her head was throbbing and every part of her was heavy. She tried to moisten her dry lips with her tongue, but it didn't work because she was completely dry, she had to get up to drink something. She was lying in her room alone, mentally patting herself on the back for not doing anything she should regret. Her phone display showed three o'clock in the afternoon, but she didn't expect to get up early yesterday. She was still wearing the clothes from the night before, so she headed to the bathroom first to shower and change.

In the kitchen, she took as much water as possible into her body, which largely made her headache go away. Arriving in the living room, she noticed that Patrik was sleeping on the sofa. She didn't want to wake him up, so she went back to her room, but before she entered, someone called after her.

– Wait – whispered Norbi as he closed the door to Gréti's room.

– What did you do with my sister? – she raised her eyebrows in annoyance, she didn't like the idea that he had slept with her sister.

Before Norbi could answer, he led Édi into her room, and after she entered, he closed the door on them.

– We didn't do anything like that, don't worry. I wanted to talk to you about Marci, I didn't know that any of you would know him.

– Well, you brought up a good topic, I wanted to ask why you brought him here? And anyway, that's how I know he's my new boss, and I have to say, he's not nice at all. A log. But you know very well, I don't feel that way about anyone after the first meeting – she took a frustrated breath, just the thought of him made her nervous – otherwise, movies like this don't even give a fuck about meeting my boss, and he's setting me up with him that very day someone at my house party. Why have you never brought it up to now?

– Because he just moved back recently, precisely because of work. He's my best friend, so of course I invited him, although it wasn't without blackmail either, but it doesn't matter. He's not as bad a face as he pretends to be. You just have to break down his walls and you will see that he is a valuable soul. – Norbi tried to convince Édi to try to relate to his friend differently, but she was adamant. Édua didn't know this side of him yet, it was strange to see him like this.

– Don't take my words for granted, that's what I tell everyone. I think you know me well enough that I don't judge anyone, except when that person actually deserves it – Édi continued to explain her truth as she stomped over to her bed to sit on it. Norbi didn't know what else to say to the girl to make her look at Marci differently, but finally she realized that whatever he said wouldn't be enough for that.

– Try to get to know him, even if you have a bad opinion of him, you won't lose anything. I go to collect myself and then I'm not even here, my roommate must already know what's wrong with me. Be good – he waved to Édua from the door before stepping out, she just leaned back on her bed and stared at the ceiling as if it was so exciting.

She pondered Norbi's words,s he wouldn't have admitted to anyone that she was actually happy that her boss wasn't as much of a jerk as she seemed. But she didn't want to deceive herself either, she's not the kind of person who wants to feed the soul of any man to open up to her. She wanted a man by her side who was fine inside and out, just like herself. At least she thought so until now, but in Marcell's company she was not herself, which frightened her. A knock interrupted her thoughts.

– Can I come in? – Patrik poked his head through the ajar door. Édi nodded to him, she didn't feel like speaking. – I want to talk about last night, you know when... – Patrik didn't finish his sentence, he began to scan the floor shyly. Suddenly, the memory of how she kissed the boy that night flashed in Édua's mind. Her face was on fire from the memory of the fierce kiss, she tried to cover her confusion with a cough.

– What do you want to discuss? Forgive me if I was intrusive, but I was given the task and you seemed to be the best choice among the others – she finally confessed honestly what she was thinking.

Patrik walked further into the room and sat down on the pouffe lying in front of the make-up table. He didn't want to get any closer to her, lest she think it was an intrusion. He knew what he wanted to say to her, he just had to muster up the courage to ask the question. He didn't understand why he was so afraid either, he wasn't the kind of boy who wouldn't dare to ask a girl out, but Édua had such an influence on him that he was afraid of rejection, because it would have hurt him. Finally, he suddenly popped the question on an all-or-nothing basis.

– Would you date me? – he confidently stretched himself out on the pouffe, which looked cute as he was sitting in front of a makeup table.

Édi didn't expect the sudden question, her breath stopped. It wasn't that she didn't like the boy, after all it was the right thing to do, maybe they would even match. She was afraid of what it would be like to go on a date with someone again, or even get into a relationship. She had been alone for a long time, only sometimes she had a partner or two with whom she had a good time for an evening, and she had a good time. However, she didn't deny that she already missed the care and attention, the evening cuddles with the one she loves. On the other hand, she wasn't sure if she would feel comfortable in a relationship again, but she felt that the boy might deserve a chance.

– I'd be happy to go on a date with you, but I'd like to state in advance that I'm not sure if I want a serious relationship. I hope you understand, but I'm giving you a chance, who knows what will happen, I'm not spoiling anything good – she honestly examined the boy's eyes, trying to read what he was thinking next, maybe even pushed him away with the end of her sentence.
