Chapter 10 - Part 10.

"What should I do with myself this weekend if you're gone?" - Gréti dramatized spectacularly, as she threw herself hysterically on her sister's bed.

"You act like I'm going away for a year. Honey, it's Friday afternoon, I'll come Sunday noon. I'm not even going away for the whole weekend." Édua sighed in frustration, as she had been listening to Gréti's whining since morning.

Anyway, she couldn't figure out what to think that her sister was upset because she wouldn't be home, in the last two weeks she only went home to sleep because she always met Patrik, but she didn't complain about that. After all, if she thought about it, maybe that was exactly why her sister wanted to scold her, since she had been neglecting her lately.

"What do you say if I say that I'll be yours from noon on Sunday? We'll go somewhere or stay at home, it doesn't matter to me." She proposed the idea, to see if her sister would reconcile with her.

"Okay, I accept. But then nothing can come in the way, even if someone dies, you will still be with me."

"You're not normal," Édua laughed, "but even if someone dies, I'll still be with you."

After saying goodbye to her sister, she picked up her travel bag, in which she put quite a few things, and walked to the front of the staircase, as her colleague had arrived.

They will travel to Siófok for team-building training, which will consist of a couple of enterprising colleagues cooking stew in a cauldron, and after gorging themselves full, they will get drunk to the ground. There hasn't been a team building where they didn't kick in, they didn't want to break this round this year either, so they stopped at Tesco on the way to refuel with alcohol and some snacks. Since Édua can't stand long journeys, she arranged with Tamas that she would listen to music on the way and probably fall asleep. Her colleague was no longer surprised that the journey would be quiet, he always takes the girl to team building events and always sleeps on the road. She didn't stay awake for long, she was soon overcome by sleep.

Édua walked slowly along the park's gravel path. Her usual smile disappeared, her eyes scanned the ground. With every step, she felt as if heavy weights were hanging on her legs. Finally, she sat down on a bench in the shade of a large tree. She dropped her hands in her lap, clasped them together. A soft, pleasant breeze blew through her hair, but she didn't care about it now. All sounds were distant, all colors faded to her.

A few streets away, Marcell was moving through town with unusual vigor. He smiled at all the people who looked at him in surprise. He stopped in front of a fancy flower shop to admire the window. Driven by a sudden idea, he decided to buy a bouquet of yellow tulips. As he exited the store, he stopped for a moment to smell the fresh air. The blue of the sky stretched to infinity, the sun's rays vibrated in the air.

Meanwhile, Édua got up from the bench and started on the path running along the edge of the park. Her eyes stared straight ahead, not noticing the children playing around him. As soon as she reached the exit of the park, she stopped for a moment and heard the melody of the musician not far away, but the sounds reached her muffled, as if a wall had separated her from the outside world. She sighed and decided she would rather avoid people.

Meanwhile, Marci found himself in the busiest place in the city. Noticing the loud laughter of a group of young people, he instinctively moved closer to them. He watched them for a while with a smile on his face, then he said to them cheerfully. The company laughed back at him, making him feel like he was one of them for a while, which warmed his soul. The whole scene was to him as if he was living the most beautiful dream he had ever had.

After Édua got home, she sat down on the couch in the living room and stared out the window, associating herself with the silence. The lively noises of the street reached her softly, but none of them piqued her interest. Everything seemed distant and meaningless. There she sat alone, as if time had stopped. At dawn the next day, Édua left for her workplace. Her usual vigor was as if it had never existed, only a feeling of tiredness had settled in her. She avoided the usual greetings, just mumbled under her breath.

To her greatest surprise, when she entered the dressing room, she saw Marci chatting cheerfully with her colleagues. He had a big smile on his face, he even laughed at something that was said to him. Édua watched the scene in bewilderment. Marcell usually walks around glumly, hardly speaking to anyone, - if he does, he always interrupts - but now he was shining.

Édua quickly arranged herself, tried to settle into the usual everyday life. She couldn't put the situation with Marci anywhere, everything was too strange for her. While working, she observed several times that Marci talked directly with everyone, even helping customers if they couldn't find something. Édua stared at herself, the whole day was absurd for her. She used to chat well with everyone, but that day she avoided conversation like the plague. Her usual cheerful smile towards the customers was now forced.

She noticed that his colleagues were looking at her strangely, they didn't understand the situation either. As the day went on, Édua felt like she and Marci had switched roles, and this situation was mercilessly stressing her out. The usual dynamic was completely overturned, she didn't know what to do with herself.

"Wake up Édi, we've arrived," Tamás woke the girl from her terrible sleep.
