Li Che yawned and opened her eyes slowly. She checked her bedside clock and discovered it was half past eight. She stood up from her bed and tidied the bed before walking into the bathroom to take her bath.
After her shower, she walked into the room with a towel in her hand drying her hair and stood before the mirror staring at her reflection. Li Che, a twenty-three-year-old lady who had debuted as a singer five years ago, but had none of her songs known by the netizens. She lived with her younger brother, her mother, and her maternal grandparents.
She dressed up in a blue jeans trousers and a pink V-neck shirt that exposed her collar bones. She packed her hair into a bun and left two strands of hair on the two sides of her face before walking out of her room into the dining room to meet her mum and brother seated.
"Good morning, mum," she greeted and sat down.
"Morning, dear," Mother Shen replied.
"Good morning, sister Che," her brother Li Hao greeted, and she grunted in response.
After breakfast, she kissed her mum bye and boarded a taxi to Infinite Entertainment Company. At Infinite, she entered into an elevator and headed to the 8th floor. Arriving at the 8th floor, she walked out of the elevator and pushed a door open.
The door flung open, and she walked into a small but cozy office, the office of her manager. She flung herself onto a couch and made herself comfortable.
"Sister Wanwan," she called, and the figure behind the table raised her head with a smile.
"Hey," Su Wanwan said and rested her head on the office chair.
"What do you think about my suggestion?" Su Wanwan had suggested that she leave the path of a singer to walk in the path of an actress after five failed years of being a singer.
"Let's give it a try," Li Che said earnestly.
"Yeah, that's my girl. The company should provide you with an assistant," Su Wanwan said.
"I don't think they will, I'm just an unknown singer, soon-to-be actress," Li Che said.
"There is an audition for a supporting role in the film 'Ray of Light' in two days' time at Star Hotel by 9 am," Su Wanwan briefed.
"What's the role about?" Li Che asked.
"It's an idol movie, and the role is a young teenage girl who has her dreams come crashing when she discovered that she was pregnant for her sister's fiancé, the male lead. It's a pretty good role for a newcomer. The sister, who is the female lead, gets her fiancé snatched and falls into depression," Su Wanwan said.
"I'll give it my best," Li Che said.
Li Che stayed with Su Wanwan till noon before leaving the company. She flagged down a taxi and gave him the address.
She was a little bit cautious as she entered the taxi. At the front sat a burly man with two huge men sitting at the back with her. The taxi diverted into another road, and she became alarmed.
"Hey, where are you going?" she asked fearfully.
"Madam, we are taking you home," the man at the front replied.
"This is not the way to my home," she said.
"Your new home," the driver replied.
"Help! Help! Help!" she shouted, but a cloth was quickly tied to her mouth, and she was blindfolded.
The car came to a stop, and the blindfold was removed from her eyes. The door was opened, and she was supported out of the car.
"Miss Li, we were directed not to harm you, so please cooperate," one of the men said.
"Where am I?" Li Che asked.
"You will know when Boss comes," he said.
"Boss? Who is that?" Li Che asked, but the man smiled mysteriously.
"We should go inside," another man said, and they walked in.
Li Che was dumbstruck as she walked into the house. The villa was painted in cream and had no speck of dust on the furniture.
"Miss Li," someone called, and she turned to look at him.
"This way, please," he said and led her upstairs to a room.
"This is your room," he said and walked away.
She pushed the door open and saw a spacious bedroom with a large bed at the corner. At the left side of the bed was a dressing table with all sorts of face products on the table. She took a quick glance at the room and saw a large sofa at the end of the room.
She saw two doors, with one leading to the bathroom. She curiously pushed the second door open and gasped when she saw it was a walk-in wardrobe. This treatment was something she had never experienced before, and here she was at her captors' house.
It was getting dark, and she was worried about her family reaction to her disappearance and she sat on the floor sobbing.
She cried for a long time and she suddenly heard the click of the door and footsteps.
