Chapter 4 - Chapter four :Marriage

"Get in," Mo Jingze said coldly, and Li Che opened the door and sat beside him. He threw a handkerchief at her and continued driving. She cleaned her face and peeked at the man beside her.

He had bags under his eyes, indicating his tiredness. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbow, and he wore a black trouser and black shirt. His suit jacket was hung on the chair, and the first two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned.

"Why are you staring at me?" he asked, and Li Che looked away shyly, her ears red as she had been caught staring. Mo Jingze's lips curved into a smile as he stopped his car.

Li Che looked outside and saw they were at the civil affairs bureau office. "Hey! What are we doing here?" she asked.

"A marriage certificate," Mo Jingze said calmly. "Now get down."

"I don't want to get married now," Li Che said.

"Why? To cry over a boy?" he asked, and Li Che realized he saw what happened. "Hmph!" Li Che snorted.

"I think you are forgetting something," Mo Jingze said.

"What?" Li Che asked.

"I own you. Now get down," Mo Jingze said.

"Fine," she snorted and reluctantly got out.

After obtaining the marriage certificates, they both headed home. Arriving home, Mo Jingze left for the study room to finish some work.

Dinner was served, and after dinner, Li Che headed to her room but was stopped by Mo Jingze.

"Hey!" Li Che said.

"Couples sleep in the same room, and this is our first night as couples," Mo Jingze said.

"You....."

"I'm not going to force you. Pack your bags and come to the master bedroom," Mo Jingze said and left.

Li Che pushed the door open and walked in. She didn't see anyone inside and started placing her clothes in the wardrobe.

The bathroom door flung open, and Mo Jingze walked out with a towel tied around his waist and another one in his hand, which he used to dry his hair.

"Hey!" Li Che shrieked and covered her eyes.

"What?" Mo Jingze chuckled and walked closer to her. He removed her hands from her eyes.

"We're married; you can look," he said with a light smile.

Li Che peeked at his abs and blushed before looking away.

"Put something on," she said shyly.

Mo Jingze laughed and turned his back to her as he put on his brown pyjamas.

Li Che looked at him closely and saw his long hair. His hair was pretty long for a man, reaching his shoulders. His hair was silky and smooth to touch.

Li Che ran her finger across his hair. "It's pretty," she said, and Mo Jingze smiled.

A week later, Li Che was ready to go to the film set. The past week, Mo Jingze had only returned home twice, and they had interacted pretty well.

The film was to be shot in a rural area outside the city, and it took a five-hour drive to arrive at the set.

Li Che alighted from the van, holding her box in her hand, and walked into the hotel to locate her room.

The male and female leads did not arrive until three days later, and their arrival caused an uproar.

Yu Beicheng and Long Man were said to have a good friendship. Long Man walked into the set with two assistants, and the actresses all rushed up to her.

Long Man wore a smile as she interacted with them all. This was one of her qualities that boosted her to fame: a smiling face and smooth interactions.

After speaking to all of them, Li Che went up to her and handed her a cup of hot coffee.

"Senior Long Man, coffee should be cold by now," Li Che said.

"You're thoughtful," Long Man said and took a sip.

"I was disrespectful by not coming to welcome you to the set. I was afraid I would be squeezed to death," Li Che said, and they both laughed.

After a week, Li Che and Gu Jingyu shot their first kissing scene.

After completing her scenes for the day, she headed to her room. As she made to open the door, her wrist was clamped down by a strong hand.

She raised her head to look at the owner of the hand; it was Gu Jingyu.

"What do you want?" she asked.

"Your lips are sweet," Gu Jingyu said and smiled. He pushed her onto the wall, trapping her between his hands.

He lowered his head to kiss her.

Pak! A slap landed on his face, and his face turned to the corner. He stared at Li Che angrily and used two of his fingers to pinch her chin.

"What do you think you are doing?" he asked and traced her lips with his fingers.

"Take your hands off me," Li Che said.

"Oh, we still have some kiss scenes," Gu Jingyu said with a smirk and walked away.

Li Che entered her room and rinsed her mouth. Two weeks had passed since the incident, and Gu Jingyu had stopped pestering her after they filmed some kiss scenes.

As she went through her scripts in her room, her phone rang. It was her brother, Li Hao.

"Hey, little brother," she called playfully.

"Where have you been?" Li Hao asked.

"On set, filming," she replied. She had already told her family that she was now an actress.

"Grandpa is in the hospital," Li Hao said, his tone calm but laced with concern.

"What?" Li Che asked, flustered.

"Yeah, the doctor said he won't live more than a week without a kidney transplant, and the transplant costs three million," Li Hao explained.

"Dad?" Li Che asked, worried.

"Grandpa said we shouldn't meet him," Li Hao replied.

"Which hospital?" Li Che asked, already thinking of her next steps.

"Hai Rui hospital," Li Hao said before hanging up the phone.

Li Che immediately left to search for the director and requested a three-day leave.
